What are the top 3 things you look for in TG stories? The stuff that really makes a difference between "meh" and getting progressively sweatier the more you read? redface
For me:
1) The change itself should be written in detail, and be done slowly (or have it progress over the course of the story). 2) Have the character explore new choices as a result of his newly fem-flavored personality (he develops a crush on a guy, was a heavy metal buff and suddenly develops an unwanted appreciation for boy bands). Emphasis on choices; no forced sex, full-out brainwashing, captivity, and whatnot. 3) Must be cleanly written. I cannot tell you how often I've stopped reading a story because the author couldn't be bothered to edit. Sloppy grammar and misspellings tend to distract me and take me out of the story.
One of the reasons I like "Sparkling Generation Valkyrie Yuuki" is that Yuuki gets all hot and bothered whenever Taki shows up, and doesn't really know what to think about it. I thought the date "Sonja" went on with Larry in "The Wotch" was awesome and hilarious for similar reasons. I hope "Abstract Gender" takes Rachel down the same sort of route, too.
Thoughts?

Yeah. I wish Abstract Gender would go down that road but logically it wont. Not many people would want to read a comic about a normal girl doing normal things...... If it does start to go down that road Knowing Rayne he'll make Rachel magically become Ryan again.

Perhaps... but if Rachel eventually fell for Travis, or something, I wouldn't really call that "a normal girl doing normal things." The fun would be in getting there; witnessing the inner turmoil between her male-bred personality and her biologically female brain and hormones.
And I personally find it amazingly boring when the TGed character just stays the same, personality wise. The comic or story just ends up being "golly, these tits sure do get in the way! I wish I could pee standing up again! My sexual interests aren't even a little bit altered, nope! Obligatory 'oh no, it's PMS time!' hook."
That's my main problem with "Misfile," by the way.

Yeah, that would be something I'd read but Raynes plans seem to keep Rachel away from there although Asukas drawing are making Rachel act more femine each time. With Freyas "situation" I think it'll be a while though.... Rayne said the next chapter is the one hes been looking forward to since he started so who knows whats gonna happen.

Hmm... Top three? I would have to say.
First: A detailed transfromation and/or a detailed discovery as in a bodyswap.
Second: Having the prognostic discover later that they are stuck, but not at first so that they are willing to explore their femininity a little since they can change back.
Third: a conspiritorial friend who knows about the gender change and can be a little amused at their reactions, even possibly setting up situations for them.
I think that about covers it for the big three. I think most of my stories reflect these.

well long or whort tg doesn matter much imo(EX. ranma 1/2) but my criterea would have to be:
1. friend who also likes to tease but is supportive when needs to.
2. really thought out "getting used to" moments
3. SPELL CHECK PLEASE!!!

1. subject matter, the story has to be something i really enjoy reading about, i have read so many storys that are just the same, boy changes witih sister, sister teases brother, brother accepts he is now the sister, has sex with her boyfriend, the end
that is 25% of fictionmania's body swap section
i want different storys not just the same ones told differently
2. realistic actions, for eg, whenever someone gets swapped/changedinto a girl they wouldnt go, OMG I AM A GIRL *drops pants masturbates* they would be hella confused, like how the hell did this happen to me, or oh god this is different than being a man because: yadada
3. Accepting: i really like it when they finally come to a conclusion that they are stuck as a girl, no going back etc, thats why i tend to frown upon stories that are like, "ok lets switch back now" the end, i like it to be like: oh god, the medallion! its gone!!!! *evil grin*

(In no peticuler order)
-A well writen transformation. Also one that doesn't involve at of description of the genertals, or what they look like when there half way threw. Thows parts turn me off. Bassicly a description of it, but not so short it's poof. But not so long you have to read a whole page (as in a writen story. For a comic I'd say no more then 3 pages) befor you get back to the story. >.<
-When another "fetish" or plot twist is throwen in there. Nothing graphic thow. Be it goth girls, furries, a virues, witchcraft. Something eals that throws alittle spice in it. Also keeps it from being at already said that same thing over and over aigen.
-A witty resone for the transformation.(ties into the perivoues one.)
-A good plot.(Kinda a defult, and ties into the previues two also) The plot can be about anything, as long as it keeps me into it. I find there are quite a few storys were the plot just seems to drag on just WAY to long. Kinda the resone why I stopped reading both abstract gender and Misfile. Was interested at 1st, but after a awhile it seemed the story wasn't going any were.

Vashu Is Not A Pervert 3. Accepting: i really like it when they finally come to a conclusion that they are stuck as a girl, no going back etc, thats why i tend to frown upon stories that are like, "ok lets switch back now" the end, i like it to be like: oh god, the medallion! its gone!!!! *evil grin* I've got a feeling I'm going to be in a minority about not liking that one.

I'm ambivalent on that particular point, personally. What do you like? Yeah, sorry I should have put that in my first post. I like the emo, I guess. I like to see people defying their situations, struggling with the consequences; winning some and losing some, but still trying to make their own terms. I like a character I can sympathize with somehow. To see them grow and develop, but still stay true to the core of who they are (however that's defined.) And I like to see a purpose behind the change, not just have it be some random thing that happens. (One of the things that makes the kashimashi manga better than the anime, is that the manga explains why they made Hazumu a girl but the anime just sort of makes it seem they just flipped a coin or something.)
