Well, personally - if the books ended like they did, I'm glad that Harmony didn't happen. sweatdrop
Not gonna say much more than that, since I'm not sure how many have read the book, but... seriously, if you've read the ending, you know what I'm talking about. As for how I'm coping, though... mostly watching H/Hr videos and reading more theories. For some reason, the latter cheers me up a lot. o.o;

I am more trying to cope with the deaths of Dobby, Hedwig, Fred Weasley and everyone else, rather than my ship. shipping comes more in fandom than anything else, and to be honest, H/Hr really shouldn't have been expected.

My take on the book: didn't like it, didn't hate it. I'm pretty neutral. I'll live on through obsessive fanfiction reading in the future.

Bitterly comes to mind. stare
So after a few rounds of sobbing, cursing, raging, numbness, and finally, a heck of a load of bitterness and sharkiness, I'd say I'm doing rather well.
[/sarcasm]
I've been on PK a lot lately, tearing DH to pieces.
SPOILERS BELOW HIGHLIGHT TO SEE
Honestly, Hermione Jean? Is that why the Hermione from 1-5 hasn't shown up at all in the last two books? Hermione Jean replaced her? And don't get me started on the d@mn character assassinations. I'm still mourning everyone's death including Voldemort. He was the best H/Hr shipper there was.
Honestly? I'll survive. Fanon was always better than canon anyway.

highlight:
Hermione Jean? Wasn't it Hermione Jane?
Maybe j.k. (dear me, i can't even capitalize her name, i'm feeling bitter) is making a super-secret ending book , in another name so the heron fans don't attack her, saying that hermione was kidnapped and replaced by an imposter. that she really loved harry and this was all ginny's doing. along with the love potion theory.
and then harry finds out, realizes he loves hermione, and motions to rescue her in an epic journey much like a 50-chapter fanfic writtern by only the best authors.
Or... I could be delusional.

I do believe I'll live. It is a book...sure it did take up 8 years or so of my life....but I never was absolutely sure Harmony would be there in the end so I never got m hopes to far up. I probably did this to save myself the heartbreak. Thank God for Fanfiction. heart

And looking at all of this. Fanfiction is at the top of the list compared to DH.

=/ It was a disappointment. If you take out all that 'romance' the book would've earned an 8 out of 10, in my opinion. But that 'romance' was just so wrong and out of the blue (even if it did start in HBP) that I've lost respect of jkr's sense of romance. The only good thing about the book, in my opinion, is that it had a lot of action, some alone time with H & Hr, made me love Neville even more and it's the first book to make me cry over a death.
But to cope, I'll read tons of fanfiction. Actually, in a few moments I'm going to go look for some good fics. But I'll never abandon ship or cross over or whatever you wanna call it because I believe in true love. Not 'bickering love' or 'hero crush love'.

The book, in my opinion, was a huge dissapointment. Passable and readable, true, but so many aspects felt forced and simply wrong. Pointless deaths for the heck of it, predicatable romances, and a bit of questions left behind...The romances in particular left the most resent behind of course. I'm all for a good romance book and romance in books, but certainly not one where I find no magic between characters, or a foundation that is weak and unstable, or something I can not find relatable...Both R&Hr and H&G seemed weakly made. Simply the stubborn fancy of the JKR to make them end up together, without really considering the foundations of the characters she made or without ever venturing out of own little box. H&Hr will always remain the better suited in my mind. My fondness for the too of them together remains ever the same.

Is it odd that I don't hate the book? I mean the book was decent. I enjoyed it for the most part. I just didn't like the romance, which I can get over. Imagine divorce and read fanfiction. But it was basically a good book.

I too enjoyed the book overall, even though I definitely thought JK would start playing up the pairing we love so much at one point -- I was disappointed. sad The book itself was decent, and I'm glad I know how it all ends, but sad that they'll never be together 'officially' even though its clearly the best twosome!
I suppose its back to more fan fiction now, that's all we have left. stare

So I'm not insane.. I thought I might have read a different book...though some people didn't even read it. Personally, I'm not gonna let pairings get in the way of me getting closure for my 9 year obsession concerning Harry Potter. It was a decent book. I really like the dragon scene and there were at least 2 or 3 Harmony leaning scenes...sorta. I never really expected to be canon. I can settle for being delusional and living in fanon and fanfiction and fanart and just my own delusions.
