So my girlfriend works in a mall right now. One day I was visiting, and I saw a ballot box for a free week in a gym. I was all like "Oooo, free stuff!". So I filled about 15 ballots or so and dropped them in. So I just got a call stating that I won. First I was all like "Woot!". Then it hit me.
I had never been in a gym before. I have no idea what I'm doing. I have an appointment Monday . . .
Hmm . . .

I love working out.
It was kinda embarassing being younger and chubbier than the other women in the gym back when I went, but I loved it.
I used to be strong as an ox, yet still fat gonk

i personally LOVE going to the gym. i cant go anymore because my mom cancelled the membership.
but basically with what you won, they will get your weight, maybe your BMI. after that they show you some basic excersies you can do without the machine. then they let you run wild (unless they have a day to day thing already set up.)
10 to 1 by the end of the week they will try to get you to join with a membership. so watch for that.

That explanation makes sense. And I kinda assumed that last part. wink

I work out in my grandma's apartment's gym.
They have some weights and an eliptical machine, plus a treadmill and bike set up.
There's more but I don't use that stuff.
My boyfriend tried to use the different machines, the types where you lift weight, it was sort of amusing. <.<

Just go, usually the receptionists and/or personal trainers help you out.
Basically, go to machines, they have instructions printed on them. Put it on the lowest setting, try a couple dozen repetitions, then up it, and so forth.
Basically, you're learning how the machines work. If there's an aerobics class or whatever going on you can also try that. Purposefully hold back, I tried to overcompensate when I went and vomit was the result. If you are deconditioned, adapt slowly.

When I was in the 5th grade, I won a go-kart in the shape of a Formula 1 race car, and then I traded it to one of my parent's friends, because he wanted the smaller go-kart for his youngest son's comfortable handling. In return we got a Honda Odyssey dune buggy.
That week was just broken with good luck.
P.S., my story rocked harder than yours did.
