Journals of LabTech909  Tuesday, October 19th, 2004 12:09 am I woke up today thinking today is going to be a great day, but so far it's been miserable. The first thing that happened to me today was that I wanted to get some coffee at the break room, but when I got to the break room there was coffee powder all over the floor. That damn green rabbit was at it again, going through the cabinets and biting holes in all of the coffee bags. Any hoot I don't get my coffee fix and ended up drinking hot water instead. crying The morning didn't end as just that. My boss came up to me and asked me to do a preliminary benchmark testing. What the hack is that? Of course I didn't want to tell him that I don't know what's a preliminary benchmark testing is. "No Problem," is all I said and ran back to my work bench. sweatdrop I could ask that new guy for some help, but I'm embarrassed to ask. What am I going to do? What a crappy day it's turning out to be.

Tuesday, October 19th, 2004 9:50 AMI just moved here just a few days ago but already I am making new friends. Tomorrow a few other G Corp employees are gonna blow off some steam at the casino. Blackjack table here I come! I once won 20000 gold in a single hand. Skillz, baby. Mad skillz. Mr. Gambino gave me an advance on my paycheck this week since I was a little short on cash. I guess he is friends with just about everyone. Isle of Gambino is probably one of the most beautiful islands anywhere. I love my new apartment (furnished courtesy of Johnny K. Gambino himself). I have an excellent view of the sun as it sets on the water each night. Things are working out even better than I expected. I just wish I had more time to spend at the beach. Right now I feel buried at work. There is so much to learn! My four semesters of O-Chem at GSU are a distant memory. Here at G-Corp they seem to be working at a whole new level. Oh well. New employees get four days of paid vacation a year so I plan to do a lot of beach-combing with my metal detector next summer.

People always say that Tuesdays are a drag, but they obviously haven't worked in a secret underground test facility before! blaugh Today, my boss LabTech247 showed me the new pets for our group. They are soooo cute!! heart I can't believe that G CORP supplies us with pets for our own entertainment! That totally rawks my sawks!! I didn't even know that rabbits came in green and purple colors! eek I also met the new guy LabTech722. He looks like a smart guy. Although everyone around here looks smart to me. They all talk about complex stuff like multiplication and stuff. I have no idea what they are talking about. But who cares?! I wORK in a SECRET UNDERGROUND TEST FACILITY!! domokun

Journals of LabTech 247  Tuesday, October 19, 2004 @ 1:35 PMI got my cot today! Now, I am able to sleep next to my work! If an inspiration comes at 3 in the morning, BOOYAKA I can work on it! I can contribute to G Corp all the time now; I am going to ask Mr. Gambino to move my personal belongings into the labs as well. I appreciate the apartment he provided me here on the Isle, but I feel so disconnected from G Corp when I go home. When I walk into the office in the morning, and it takes me 5 minutes to get everything organized to start the day. That's not acceptable to me! Those five minutes could be important in my research. Living in house is clearly the best option. I was originally going to just sleep under my desk, but when I heard that it could hamper my productivity, I quickly changed my mind.
I only wish that I didn't have to fill out so many forms just to get my cot. I had to fill out an Application to Request a Form for Equipment Requisition (FFEQ - 2279), and then once I got approved, I had to fill out the Equipment Request Requisition Form (ERRF - 57). Once I filed my FFEQ and got my ERRF, I had to get three signatures in triplicate, and only then did I get my cot! Now I have to fill out a Form to Request a Form Acknowledging Receipt of Equipment Requisition (FRFAREQR - 22) and the Form Acknowledging Receipt of Equipment Requisition (FAREQR - 24). All this time spent on forms, detracting from valuable G Corp time!
I'm going to make up all that lost time tonight though! I'll just drink a lot of coffee. Maybe I'll also ask about the Graveyard Shifts that people have been gossiping about. By living here at G Corp, I could work my day shift and my night shift! I'll be the best employee G Corp has ever seen!

LOVE IT!!!! *sigh* Ok, now I better finish filling out and sending out these FRFAREQR - 22 and FAREQR - 24 forms... our entire facility DEPENDS ON IT!!

I heard about this great little card game in Durem ... anyways, I worked straight through lunch so I could punch out a few minutes early and get a head start on the trip. I was waiting with this guy at the elevator. The elevator takes a long time to reach our floor since we work at sublevel 29. I made some comment about how I was glad it was almost happy hour. He said, "going home now? but its only 6:30 PM! " I think his name was Labtech247, but I'm not sure because I'm still learning everyone's name and I was embarrassed to ask because I know he had already introduced himself to me before. He had some line about how he was just going to the cafeteria to stock up on some food so he wouldn't have to leave the lab as often. "Never enough hours in the day", he laughed. Then he said something about getting a cot so he could work straight through the night. What a loser! I mean jeeez. Gotta take your job that seriously, man? Its just a job, after all.

My name is Labtech013, clearance level 5. I have only worked for G CORP for the past 5 years, but in those 5 years, I have climbed the corporate ladder faster than anyone else. However, recently I have stumbled upon something I should not have stumbled upon. My findings were unbelievable... I simply cannot describe the magnitude of this project that we are working on. It is evil. I cannot continue my work... OH GOD... what have we done?!

So.... anyways... Mr Gambino has this new policy that we should keep a journal. redface He says that it's something about company morale. I don't really know, though. It's not like he's going to have the time when he's running around all day like his head is cut off or something to read all these journals to make sure that we're keeping them. blaugh
Oh well. I'll just use mine to write down all the stuff I think about all day. xd
Guess What? There's this place I order lotions and body sprays and candles from, and they just came out with their wintertime scents! OH MY. There's this one callled "Vanilla Bean Noel" biggrin which is almost better than the last one I got from there ("Warm Vanilla Sugar"). It smells soooo gooood. Every time I put it on (and my dry hands always need it) it makes me crave candy, cake and frappichinos. OOh, that sugar tooth, it'll be my undoing. (among other things)

But, a job is a job, and I can't really complain too much. You see, we both work in the same department, and we see each other all day long, but it's just not the same. LabTech912 and I applied at the same time for the job here, but we were a bit wary about Gambino's strict policy about no relationships between co-workers. But, we fooled him! During our interviews, we both played it well, pretending that we didn't even know each other. He bought it, and now we both work in the same department. When we first started, Gambino was in and out of the secret lab that we both work in, checking on us all the time. Now, when he checks on us, it isn't as often, and we can spend more time alone. I wonder what's going on. Gambino seems distracted by something lately, probably something going on in one of the other labs. I'm a bit curious, but I'm not about to lose my job over a little curiosity. Maybe I should get some work done, and spend less time making out with my honey. Oh well. I get paid for it, right? Not like Gambino will ever know, as long as we're careful. Gambino doesn't read these, does he? 5:37 PM heart It's only been two weeks since I started at G CORP, but it's been going GREAT so far. whee After a MINOR incident on sublevel 16, I was transferred a few levels lower to sublevel 29. (I have no idea how labtech 048's wallet ended up in my pocket!!) Anyway... Work itself is a little more demanding than my previous position. The research we're doing is very, very fast-paced and rigorous. But the best part about work is making my desk pretty. I just got this super cute, red coffee mug! Gosh, I love getting new things! Also, I hope no one reads this, but in the elevator today, I think I saw Labtech137 staring at me. eek It was kinda funny! He is cute though, so I don't mind. heart

5:55 pmWork has been going smooth and I'm expecting a promotion soon :]]] Went gambling with some of the guys after work which sucked cuz i spent so long bragging to them about how great I am at poker then got owned 5 games straight T__T;;; Theres so many damn people all crammed down in this hole.. all everyone seems to do is whine about this and that, its no wonder that I'm the one up for promotion. "Oh my coffee mug is missing~, My cot so I can sleep in the lab~, Theres a green rabbit in my coffee~, no one likes me~!!!" these people are nuts. Lets just say that my abilities in the lab exceed my abilities on the poker table.... On another note, I can't stop thinking about this person. Her name is Labtech138. We kind of joined the company at the same time and I see her around at work now and then. I can't help staring at her... I'm scared she'll notice me and think I'm a creep or something. She has such a unique style.. shes so pretty... *sigh* I have noticed she seems to have very strange taste in the things she collects around her desk. I want to know more about her... surprised ~

We have to wear them all the time, no matter what, and well... I don't like the color. The tealish green color of the pants is just an icky color, and it just doesn't look good with my skin.

They're always spying on their employees and making us take "physcological examinations". What a bunch of crap! Yesterday I took this one and it had this question: "If you saw your co-worker friend steal from the cash register, would you report him?" I mean.. wtf? Clearly they are trying to break our spirit so they can ask other questions like "Sooo... what's your greatest weakness so we can exploit it and make you our slave?". I don't care anymore. I already tried to tell 247 but all he can say is DER DER I HEART G CORP. On a brighter note, I just finished my Home Internet Theatre system. I'm going to invite everyone over from the office... HAHAHA they they'll see how cool I am when I'm in front of my Home Internet Theatre System!
