How many people have started this series? How many are eagerly awaiting the next book? Anyone feel he keeps taunting us with cliff hangers?

What do you think of the series? Here's a quick synopsis of the first book (Wizard's First Rule) by Borders:

Quote:
In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, appears in Richard Cypher's forest sanctuary seeking help ... and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence.
In their darkest hour, hunted relentlessly, tormented by treachery and loss, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword-- to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed ... or that their time has run out.
This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend.

It's been a while since I've read that series. The last book I read was Pillars of Creation I think. I know some new ones came out since then, but if I want to get back into it, I think I should start over.

Decent series but suffers from the same problem that Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series has, too long, too many threads through the books and seemingly no end in sight. I have the first 6 or 7 books but haven't brought the most recent ones because the wait was too long and just lost interest. I'm sure at some point, I'll get the rest of the books and then the final one. I do enjoy them however and want to see just how many Wizard's Rules there are altogether lol

I love the series. Not sure why, but I do. lol. WFR was my first ever fantasy book, and it's what got me into reading it. I'm half way through the 5th book now (Soul of the Fire). And then I'll move onto the next book after that. I own the first 8, and am about to buy the next two books (chainfire and phantom). I'm waiting to buy confessor when it comes out in paperback, since I'm behind in the series, I don't need to buy it right away anyway, and all the books I own of it so far are in paperback. Would be weird to have all paperback, and then one hardback. XD It's an awesome series though. You just have to have the time and patients to sit down and read them all back to back. =P

Ahh, yes, the good Sword Of Truth Series. I enjoyed it profoundly, including Confessor. Although it feels like he left us with a cliffhanger.
Anywho, have you read Confessor as of yet?
