OOC for Laista. biggrin RPProfilesSO! We need to figure out a way to organize time/days in this RP. If you have any suggestions, feel free to post them. After we get a list of ideas I'll prolly 1) hold a poll to see which people favor and 2) ask that you also post your answer so I can make sure the poll is accurate. Here are suggestions so far.... Rincs I think I have an idea on how to manage time. We could have one person keep track of it, just one (you pick). Then, that person will post the time in one of the different speech bubble stating the day, time, and maybe other things, like weather. I'll post it in the OOC thread (a sample). Hopefully that will help and prevent people from moving time on their own. Patchwork Emotions I was also considering having so many real time days per day in the RP. So like every three days of real life is a day in the RP, or whatever seems to fit. Kind Stranger 3:42 PMHow about if we put the exact time of the day on every post, just like in this one?)) Ishbosh Hmm... I can't think of many good ideas to do time right now, but a few that just popped into my mind could be like.. Every hour or two be each day... like Every 2 REAL TIME hours is one RP day. and then you can have the first 45 minutes or so morning, next 45 minutes noon/evening, and then 30 minutes for the night time to early early morning. And just at every interval announce that it is the next stage of the day. And just at the beginning of the morning, announce the weather effects for the day, and during what time they will be coming. Just an idea.

Is magic present in this world (like spells, etc.)? There seem to be some hints of such, but I won't be sure until I see that it's actually agreed upon. sweatdrop

Not exactly, although I guess it depends on how you look at it. You have control over a single element. With that element you're able to do various things (i.e. extremes would be tornadoes, storms, etc.). But you don't have specific spells you cast.

Noticing that several of you put speech in different colors. I haven't really seen that before. But I've been out of the RP world for awhile. Is that a guild thing, or just a new technique for RPing?

Not really. I usually don't like doing it because it is time consuming (THANK GANDHI FOR TEK-TEK!). I usually just bold my speech and italicize (sp?) my thoughts.

I have had two apps so far where people wanted to have multiple elements. My idea was that people are only capable of one. But I'm open to changing that. Most of this RP isn't set in stone.
Was just curious about what those already involve think about it.

I like the idea of one element. This makes it so you can't be too powerful and must be creative when using your element. This is really up to you though. Just make sure you don't get any Mary Sue characters, or it will most likely ruin the roleplay.

Oh, and sorry about the incident earlier with my boyfriend editing posts. xd We'd been playing world of warcraft. I kept alt tabbing to check on Gaia. Eventually he became curious and decided he needed to "help." Haha.
Tho I probably deserved it. I'm fond of doing that kind of crap to him all the time. biggrin

Elwen's staff belonged to her mother. She knows nothing about the use of the orb. ^^ Sorry, I was really tired when I wrote that profile. I'll go clear it up.
((Between you and me, the staff has been her weapon for a good five years, and I have yet to decide what exactly I want the use of the orb to be. rofl ))

Some replies...
About the different colored text, I only use it cause I think that it would be much easier to detect who's who, especially since I RP two people, and the're often together. I could just not use it, but I like it ^^ hehe.
As for the elements, I think that sticking to one is a good idea to me as well. Not only does it prevent one character from being too overly powerful, but it also helps boost creativity, forcing the RPer to think up creative ways to use their element to get out of situations (I can't think up of examples at the moment, but I think you all know what I mean).
Also, I think that having to control more than one element would make the person quite unstable. Especially for the setting of the story, where even Gurus have some moments where they loose control over their element, and this is just with one element.
Well, that's my opinion on that. xD

We have had several people join the RP recently. So if you're either someone new, or one of the people who hasn't really had someone to RP with yet, watch out for them. biggrin
