w00t! I finally finished it!

http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29605467&

If you could create your own companion, what would they be like?
PostPosted: Thu Jul 12, 2007 8:54 am

They'd be a combination of my favourites (Ace, Jamie, Captain Jack and Martha), with a bit of me in there (they'd always wear something with a butterfly).

Maybe Ace's headstrong-ness, Jamie's sense of wonderment (and accent!), Captain Jack's bravery and tendency to flirt with anything that breathes (including the Doctor...) and Martha's medical knowledge and general intelligence. They would mostly wear black (like me) and glasses (like me).

Then again, just get me to play the companion that I am imagining! It's about time we had an on-screen companion from Yorkshire!

They'd be a spy for some bad guy group of people somewhere daleks in my mind. Very angsty and probably posessing a cat and a cool looking puffy hat... and a cell phone with unlimited reception anywhere in the universe to maintain contact with their master. Oh! and brown plaid shoes! Their name would be SAM, yeah, Sam and would probably have picked up some weird personality quirk from the bad guys they serve like an obsession with the word exterminate, tendancy to shout frantically at the slightest argument. Illogically logical (No I don't need lunch I just ate breakfast, I don't need new clothes, I just got new clothes two years ago, stop wasting time SLEEPING!), no friends, unlikeable, triggerhappy, drinks blood or eats dead people (those might be a bit obvious), they take off their skin, they're made of metal, constantly ask about their mummy, etcetera. One of those, depending.

They'd stick around for a season at most, then they would probabley betray the bad guys in favor of the doctor and die, preferably by electricution but I like poison and gun fire aswell. OR A GIANT DOMO! domokun

Some female who is suffering from some illness (which The Doctor is immune to) and has about a year to live. After a series of random events she joins The Doctor who feels sympathetic for her, and lets her travel with her.

Over time, The Doctor developes feelings for her. But her condition worsens.

Eventually she should die having in some way contributed to finding a cure for the illness.

Considering that the Cybermen haven't been neutered enough as baddies yet (unlike, say, the Klingons and Borg from the Star Trek franchise), I think they should make a partially-Cybernized female companion, who will gradually rediscover her humanity (like that borg chick from ST:Voyager) and fall in love with the Doctor.

But no cyber-bikinis please. This is a family show, not Torchwood. razz

Well I really think the guy needs someone to match his intelligence... and it would be cool for them to be another Time Lord. Female too. So I guess she'd be a rather tall lanky pale time lord with really long semi-curly dark brown hair and nice eyes, who can be both bright and bubbly but also the silent-intelligent type. Fun, but not hyperactive, smart and cluey but not up herself about it.

Hey I could go on forever making and describing characters blaugh
It really depends on the Doctor what the ideal companion should be I guess.

That sounds almost like what you'd get if you merged the personality of Romana #2 with the body of Romana #1. xd

Don't know what this companion would look like, but how about a companion with the friendly sweetness/niceness of Jo and Mel, the combined intelligence of Liz Shaw and Romana, with maybe a teeny bit of Ace's pluck? Sweet, smart, and plucky. Maybe someone who wears the Multicolor Wonder! XD

An emotionally scarred woman who is severely depressed until she meets The Doctor, an American, too. She has more inner beauty than outer beauty and the mind of a genius. She frequently insults herself and has a bit of a twisted sense of humor.

a fluffy baby dalek? ... could it eventually grow into a potatoe farmer and fall in love with the doctor?

It'd be a (non-gay) male (or maybe sexless...) alien. Whose not fully humanoid. It'd be a secondary companion alongside whatever human the Doctor has dragged along. It would be of 'average' intelligence but would 'make up for it' by being useful in otherways. A real adventurer with their own morals/culture.

And then I'd sit back, enjoy me some Doctor Who and laugh as it gets slashed in fanfic anyway.
