In the episodes Army of Ghousts and Doomsday, we find out that there is a Torchwood in the parallel universe that Micky stayed in. For those who may not know, Torchwood was created because of The Doctor and Rose. So how did the parallel Torchwood come to be since Rose was never born in that universe? And what would the parallel Doctor be like?

Well, it's like how there were cybermen in both worlds, but created completely different ways. That's how a parallel world works.

What Trix said.
That's like asking why Rose wasn't born in the other world when there was still both of her parents. Because it's parallel - simular but not the same.

Could be the the Doctor on a different regeneration. And it could be a different companion instead... since it is only supposed to be similar.

HappyBanana What makes you think that universe doesn't have their own version of The Doctor? wink I want to be in THAT universe! heart Also, even though they never mentioned it, I always hoped (and assumed) that there was an alternate Doctor. I mean, why wouldn't there be an alternate universe and an alternate Gallifrey and everything else? There were only (relatively) small changes on Earth so I figure the rest of the galaxy is much the same.

The Chrestomanci series, where an enchanter has nine lives because he only exists in one of the nine parallels... Otherwise, wouldn't the Doctor have tried to go to Gallifrey in a parallel? Or anything like that???

If anyone has seen Inferno you would have heared about the fan speculation that the character Stalman, from the fasist dimention was a future regeneration that the time lords gave the doctor. Besides who said it was the Doctor? It could have been another time lord like the Master or the Rani, even the Meddeling Monk. Or it could have been made purely coincidently. It's all relivent realy.....now my head hurts.

In Inferno, The Doctor said that if anyone travelled to the parallel universe with him, the universe would be destroyed or something like that (I haven't seen it in a while, to be perfectly honest).
Why then, can The Doctor travel between universes? I mean I know it was all just an accident, but according to The Doctor's own theory, wouldn't the universe, y'know, cease to exist?

I read somewhere that the parallel Torchwood was set up after Queen Victoria was killed by a werewolf (alternative ending to Tooth And Claw) by Lady Isobel.
