So yay! Dale and I are going to spend our one year anniversary in Williamsburg, VA going to Busch Gardens. Our anniversary is the 23rd (a monday) and we both have to work but not until about 8:00 at night. So, saturday we're checking in to the hotel and maybe go to water country or Colonial Williamsburg and then spending all of sunday at Busch Gardens and then driving back (3-3/12 hours only) home on monday so we can be at work by 8. It's gonna be so awesome. I haven't been there in years and neither has he.
We were going to spend it in Baltimore (our 'romantic getaway' place) but as it turns out, it's the same weekend Otakon is going to be there. So, for just two nights in a hotel we'd have to spend like over $500. That's not fun but I kept thinking "Well, hey, maybe we'll get one day passes and just mess around with Otakon for a few hours" but turns out they don't sell the one day passes anymore and since it's our anniversary and he's not nearly as in to anime as I am (and I barely am anymore just because of time restraints) I'm not going to force him to spend two days wandering around a convention he has no interest in. It just doesn't seem fair to him, especially since he'd be spending the money on the hotel.
So, we're going to Williamsburg which is going to be totally awesome anyway. Yay. ^.^

Thankies. ^.^
It's actually a really huge amusement park that focuses on all sorts of countries; France, Germany, Ireland, etc. Each area has rides but also shops and food places that serve food that would come from that particular country. It's totally awesome. I can't wait.

Whoa nice! So it's like going everywhere in the world at the same time? All I heard was The Simpsons parodied it with Duff Gardens in one episode.

Them hotels are trying to rob those poor otakus blind. ;P But I guess if they've got enough money to spend on making sweet outfits, they'd probably save pennies for a room too.

Flying Mojo Whoa nice! So it's like going everywhere in the world at the same time? All I heard was The Simpsons parodied it with Duff Gardens in one episode. Exactly! And much cheaper! I've seen that episode but it was so long ago I don't remember it at all. I haven't watched the Simpsons in years but plan on going to the movie.

When he said how much it cost I was surprised at how calm he was sounding about it. I was like "Are you crazy!? That's a whole paycheck for you and just on the hotel! What about food?!" I really, really can't wait till we go. I'm going to try my best to take the camera with me but at the same time, I don't really want to carry a lot around the park...but I want pictures! I just don't want to have to leave a purse on the side when we get on the coasters.

Well, we're back. ^.^ Busch Gardens was really fun. The rides have either settled and therefore gotten rougher...or we're just getting old and our brains can't take the rattling anymore. I braced wrong on a ride and ended up hurting a muscle in my leg so walking around the rest of the day REALLY hurt but I didn't want to go back to the hotel. He ended up getting a massive headache though so around 7 we called it a day and went back to the hotel to just relax and let our various pains drift away. My guess is we're just getting old because I remember when I was younger and went to amusement parks they'd have to drag me out. Ah well. Still had a ton of fun. And he bought me a stuffed Griffon that was 'themed' from This Ride (Griffon). It's really cute, even though he's all perma-cranky lookin'. It was just so relaxing to get away from all responsibilities at home and work and the best part of all was that I wasn't sick at all while we were gone. Headache sure, a tiny bit of queasiness in the morning but overall, good health. No nausea, no UTI, no massive sinus headaches. It was great. Right now though, I'm extremely tired and just trying to stay awake long enough to write this. We were supposed to have a room with a King size bed but the guy who had the room already decided not to check out. Instead of the hotel telling him it was already reserved that night for someone else or move him to a different room they but us in a room with two full size beds. Really hard for a guy who's 6'5" and a girl who's 5'5" to sleep in a full size bed together, especially when the neighbors were a bunch of noisy kids and yelling parents. So, we're both really tired. Regardless of all that though it was still amazingly fun. Ima go night night now though so night night.

Awesome! Yeah, I'm finding as I grow older I can't really handle the scary rides as much as I used to...

Naito: Thankies! ^.^
Wobina: Which is really sad. I mean, I'm only 22 and he's only 26 (though the suspicion is that his headache came from sinuses, not the ride. The rides with the harnesses over the shoulders did hurt him though but that's just because he's so frickin' tall. That'll learn him to eat his veggies!). I mean, they weren't bad (except for "The Big Bad Wolf"), just hit my head a lot more on the back of the seat than I remember. Maybe that's just a sign my head isn't as hard as it used to be? That's good, right? Anyway, all in all fun but it has pointed out to me that driving the 3 1/2 hours in heavy traffic isn't worth it for Busch Gardens when I think Kings Dominion which is only 2 hours away and less traffic (kind of, they're both on the same interstate but most of the traffic is after Kings Dominion). Busch Gardens just seems far too crowded with various shops (which sucked, unfortunately) and food places and random decorative things that there's less walking space and it's all just...cluttered. Kings Dominion has just as many awesome rides but it feels more open, which is less stressful.
Aaaanyway, rambling me is gonna go finish re-reading the 6th Harry Potter so I can start the 7th, which I bought today. I wanted it fresh in my head so when I start the 7th I'm not missing any details. ^.^

Which is a good idea - since I've been reading the book and going '... wait .... I'm forgetting something from the previous books' and '.. wait ... did that happen? I think so? I don't remember anymore"
Like .. I don't remember what happened to Persy at the end of the 6th book.
On another note - Funniest way to die everr. ~ going to the midnight book store release of Harry Potter early, getting the book ASAP And stand there, reading out the last chapter of the book to everyone! twisted
I was trying to convince Luke to do that stare
On ANOTHER note - Skittles - love your new outfit! 3nodding heart

I remember hearing about something like that happening last time. Someone drove past the crowded book store, and shouted out the big secret of the Snape Dumbledore scene. (Didn't happen here, just heard about it.)

There are so many little details from the 5th book that I have forgotten that while reading the 6th it's just one big 'huh?'. But yeah, I totally forgot like everything that happened with Percy. I couldn't believe just how much of the 6th one I had forgotten. I mean, I remembered the end (really hard to forget) but I guess so much time has passed or just so much has gone on since I read it when it came out that I forgot pretty much everything that happened in the other 600 some pages. Completely forgot everything about Slughorn and the horcuxes and Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione, etc. So yeah, figured it was a good idea just to finish reading the 6th again before starting the 7th...which I hope to do tomorrow! I have been avoiding so many things since the book came out just because I'm afraid random articles or people will have spoilers everywhere. But yeah, I was reading an article on its release though that was put out right after the book came out (so no one had a chance to finish it) but in the bookstore some girl flipped to the end of the book and started yelling "Oh my god! Oh my god!" to her friends and told them what happened. I'm surprised if she walked out on her own two feet. And thanks Naito. ^.^
