How about information about things that you can use around your house, laundery detergent, cleaner, etc that are better for the environment.
I have an ant problem. I don't mind the little critters, but I can't have them in my food. Yesterday, I cleaned my pantry completely. It was not my idea, but the pantry was then sprayed with ant killer. I am not happy about poison being near the food. Maybe that's as bad as the ants. So I looked on the web and found a suggestion to sprinkle red chili powder or paprika at your doorways. I did it and I will report on its effectiveness.
Any other ideas or earth friendly substitutes that have been tried?

Ok, this weekend I bought some different stuff. I bought Arm & Hammer laundery detergent instead of Tide. I get perfume and dye free anyway because of sensitive skin. This stuff has no phosphates and is baking soda and just a few other things. I wonder if it works as well as Tide. I also bought this expensive energy star light bulb and it does not put out very much light.

rikuHEART ladybeth27 I also bought this expensive energy star light bulb and it does not put out very much light. That sucks. That's what really sucks about that kind of stuff. That's why so many people don't buy it, it needs to be remade better to last longer and as bright, but without the use of much energy. I wish people would start using vegetable oil for fuel, because it's proven to last longer, it's non-harmful to the environment at all, and it's recyclable.

I'm not giving up yet. I only looked at the grocery store. I will check Home Depot. If I find something there, I will remind them of how I requested, by letter, that they stock pesticide free lawn care products. cool

Just force yourself to do it before you let the fear get in the way. That's what I do. It doesn't always work, since the fear comes so quickly, but sometimes I'm able to do it.

Thanks, I am just very stubborn. I don't like to give up on anything.
Good news on the light bulbs. I got more from Walmart. I put some 100 watt energy star bulbs in a floor lamp which is supposed to hold only 60 watts (because of the heat). Since these bulbs produce no heat, I could put in higher watt bulbs. I was able to get more light than with regular bulbs. Also, it comes with a 7 year guarentee.
The Arm & Hammer baking soda laundery stuff works great! No more Tide for me.
