I don't know, haven't seen a thread like this done before, so I'm going to do it. Anywho, everyone should know of the on going war of who the heck Sonic the Hedgehog should get with, since he's such a cool hedgehog and all.
Point of this thread is to show your feelings as to if Sonic does belong with a Sonic character, or if he should be alone and independant. . . .Lord knows that would get to be a boring life after awhile though. . .
Also, I understand if you want to explain why Sonic wouldn't get with someone, but DO NOT bash couplings like 'omgz, sonamy suks!'

Panku Tasuku I don't know, haven't seen a thread like this done before, so I'm going to do it. Anywho, everyone should know of the on going war of who the heck Sonic the Hedgehog should get with, since he's such a cool hedgehog and all. I already have guidelines against bashing and excessive one-lining, and I'm not making exceptions. I've seen relationship threads degenerate into cyclical slanging matches too many times. I shouldn't have to say this to anyone here, but let's remember that we can't expect to convert anyone to how we think just because we want to - let alone by repeating ourselves until they get fed up. Nobody's right and nobody's wrong. Let's try to keep this as an orderly exchange of our own opinions on who Sonic should be with, rather than a "OMG! How could you think that Sonic should be with [whoever] when she's such a...!" thread, 'kay? I'll be back with my own opinion later - it's approaching 11pm over here, and I still have a few things I need to do before I go to bed.

To be real honest, Ive seen fan comics and stories of where Tails was female and fell in love with Sonic. From these Ive decided that Tails would be the perfect mate for Sonic. They been together for most of there life, Tails looks up to him as a hero and buddy which is easily turned into love in most TV series (Ex: Kim Possible/Ron), and the fact that the only love connection Tails could have cause of his age has to be cream or someone else Im forgetting at the moment.
Now this could still happen even if Tails is male! That could be a plot in a comic somewhere sense the sonic fandom is now being directed toward teens. Theres nothing bad in having Tails wonder about feelings and try to repress them until he finally lets out and everyone stands there mouth agape in a anime silence.
I just believe Tails and Sonic have always been together, Lets make it offical! And I know he's like a brother to sonic (or sister), But teenagers dont care about that stuff. Im sure adults dont mind a good forbidden love tale as well.
Sonic and Tails if you dont want to read all that above. biggrin

Alright, good to see a few people have already posted. As for my thoughts, I don't know. I'm pretty adaptive with any Sonic coupling, as long as there's a meaning behind the story and/or fan-art.
If I had to pick though, I'd hope Amy would get with Sonic. I don't know, right now, both aren't the right age to 'date', but I think after a few more years of growing up on both of their parts, they could actually get to be a good couple.
One of the things that got me to believe this was in Sonic Adventure 2, when Sonic was trapt after Eggman caught him. First, he told Tails to keep the chaos emerald safe, but after that he looked to Amy and said, "Amy, please take care of yourself." Or something along those lines.
Most of Sonic X's SonAmy moments weren't all that great; but then again, Sonic X isn't the original Sonic the Hedgehog.
Like I said before, I think it might take a few years, but afterwards, Sonic and Amy could make quite the coupling. (As long as Amy cools it with the Sonic obsession. xd )

Your right Panku Tasuku! I mean, when they're old enough to 'play games involving a bed and nudity' they're both hedgehogs, so at least their children will look normal. And the children could have Amys cute looks and strength(have you seen her with that bloody great pika pika hammer, or whatever its called) and sonics speed. It would be the ultimate hedgehog! and they only have about 3 years age difference. I just guess Amy needs to act more like Princess Sally

I'm more inclined toward SonAmy too. I'm not sure how I would go about lengthening my input without saying what others said as well as accidentally saying something offensive. sweatdrop Perhaps I support this pairing so much because I like to stick with the original game characters when it comes to matters like this. And I just find the pairing so darn cute!
I absolutely adore the SonAmy moments in Sonic X! 4laugh And though game moments are sparse, I appreciate them. Like the one Panku Tasuku stated.
I wonder how things will be once Blaze enters the scene and we learn more about her... mrgreen

Hm...As far as my preferred pairings go, it all depends on the continuity.
In the official Sega storyline, while Amy appears to be the only real possible love interest for Sonic, I just can't see the guy suddenly show some lovin' to her :/
I do like the whole comical relief that's provided by Amy's constant pursuit of Sonic, however. And, it does make you feel a little sorry for the poor girl...after all, haven't we all had those crushes where the other person just doesn't seem to feel the same way?
As for the Archie continuity, I think I was one of the many whose reaction to the Sonic/Sally kiss in #50 Director's Cut was "It's about friggin' time!". And, I am a bit peeved that the writers seem to have tossed away their relationship (same with Antoine/Bunny)...but hey, maybe they'll get back together.
But hey, why not Sonic and Sally? The comics spent fifty issues just to get them to confess something, plus there's the alternate future where they have kids. Seems pretty fitting for them to be together, I would think...

One was a male hedgehog, the other a female chipmunk/squirrel (frankly, I'd like to have seen more of a mix of their features in the children, but anyway...), and at first didn't have names. In the "Mobius: 25 Years Later" storyline, they were named Manic and Sonia; an homage to 'Sonic Underground'.

The pink one's name was Sonia. As Shane just said: in the Archie series, Manic and Sonia were the names given to a blue hedgehog and a squirrel.

I second you on this one. I personally think that if I was in Sonic's shoes, I'd find Amy to be a little pushy/clingy/desperate...and I'd try to get away as fast I possibly could. While her crush can be considered cute, I just can't take her seriously. And, while I've had my fair share of crushes that weren't returned in kind, I also knew when to let them go(I remember deciding that if they felt the same way, they could come to me and tell me somehow..and that philosophy saved me a lot of trouble). Perhaps Amy would gain some maturity(and perhaps even Sonic's attention) if she did the same. *shrug* I've always been a supporter of the Sonic and Sally pairing, mainly because of the SatAM show and the comics that I started obsessing over in middle school. It just always seemed right to me.

I'm not really a pairings person, to be honest. There's the philosophy of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", and I think they'd be a risk of any attempt to do a coupling degrading into sheer awfulness of script.
Sentimentality has ruined countless stories before, after all.
