Natitsuri (I'm being to lazy right now XD) Ame smiled at Sigal's reply. She did have a family. And even though she didn't know them very well, it ment a lot to be able to call them family.
"Ok." She said as a reply to both answers. Laying her head next to Sigal's she watched the sunset until her eyes closed and she drifted to sleep.

(Obviously I'm going to have to make the next thread we arn't even in a meadow anymore!)
Ame felt something moving next to her. She opened her eyes a bit to see if whatever was next to her was of fushia and black color. It was. So it was morning already and Sigal had beaten her up. She yawned and streached.

Seeing Ame yawn, Sigal had to yawn in return. Stupid contagious yawns.
"Morning," she muttered. It was still a bit odd to her that some one else was actually awake during the daylight hours, like she was. Odd, but good.
"What should we have for breakfast?" Of course, Sigal was forgetting about her semi-twisted paw.

(But "The Meadow" is so unoriginal! Why not "The Volcano" or something?)
Ame stood and streached again.
"Well, whatever we're having, I'm getting it." She thought for a moment. They had two options. One, Ame could go find some sort of fruit or berry. Two, Ame could hunt something. She didn't particularly like to hunt but if Sigal wanted freshly caught food, she would do so.
"Do you want some kind of fruit or berry, or would you like me to catch you something?"

((Because it's a metaphor for Hollywood and all of the unoriginal movies and their sequels and their 3rds and 4ths and 5ths and on and on and on...And meadows are plain and boring, like the sequels! And it's got romance, like any horribly bad sequel! And...urm...I'll think of more later. *is so b.s.ing the whole thing*))
"Fruit or berries would be nice." And that way they could sate her thirst, too, and she wouldn't have to go over by the lake.
Not that she thought it would try to drown her again. Oh, she was over that.
Yes, very very over that.
She scooted away from the water a bit.

"Ok." Ame said cheerfuly. She looked around for the best place to start looking and noticed Sigal staring at the water and them move away from it as if it were going to try and drown her again. Smiling, she walked over to the bushes and found a nice big leaf that had fallen and dried. She carried it to the pond, dipped it in the water, and then carefully took it to Sigal making sure not to drop any of the water.
"There. Thats not enough to drown you. Maybe make you cough if you swallow it wrong but not enough to drown you." She smiled at her mate reassuringly.
(Sorry for any typos. I typed a lot of it with my eyes closed b/c I'm falling asleep...)

Sigal lifted a paw as if she was going to poke the water, then she remembered that water was wet, and would get her wet if she poked it.
So she stared at it instead.
She wondered if it would be the same if she poked the leaf...
She finally realized she was thirsty, and cautiously lapped up the water.
Amazingly, the water did not try to drown her.

Ame smiled at how cute Sigal was being with her leaf of water. Of course, she knew that to Sigal, this wasn't cute at all. But to her, it was.
Trotting off, Ame went in search for something to eat. Not to far from where they were she found some blueberrys and wild blackberrys. Gathering up some of the blackberrys in her tail, she tore a branch off of the blueberry bush and headed back to Sigal.

Sigal managed to finish all the water on the leaf without it trying to drown her. Maybe it was a magic leaf, that tamed the evil water.
Or maybe she was just overreacting to the whole thing. She had tried drinking water at an awkward angle, gotten a faceful of it, and choked. But even that hadn't managed to kill her.
But still, knowing she was being ridiculous, and actually not being afraid of the water were two entirely separate things.

Ame returned to see that Sigal had managed to drink all of her water.
"I found some berries. This was as much as I could carry in one load. But if you're still hungry I can easily get more."
Setting the berries down next to Sigal, Ame looked at the leaf. She'd better keep it. It might be the only way to keep Sigal drinking.
"Would you like more to drink?"

Sigal glanced out at the pond. There was a lot of water.
"Yes, please." Leaf water was much, much better than pond water, Sigal decided.
"Thanks." Sigal really hoped her leg healed soon. Ame was so amazing for doing all of this for her, and being so willing to help with everything--even the sudden bout of hydrophobia.

Ame smiled while she picked up the leaf and took it back to the pond. She filled it with water again and brought it back to Sigal.
"You're welcome. Anything else I can get you?" Ame hoped that Sigal wouldn't hesitate to ask her for anything. In all reality, she didn't mind takeing care of her mate.

"More berries?" Sigal slowly lapped at the water, and wished that her leg was better already. Not only did she not like making Ame wait on her, she hated lying still in one place, too. She would much rather be running around, having fun with her mate, than just be lying there, doing nothing.

Ame nodded to her mate's request and trotted off only to apear moments later with more berries. She moved the other branch and replaced it with a new one that was full of berries.
As she munched on some of her own berries, Ame looked at her mates paw.
"How is your paw/ankle feeling?"

"Better than yesterday. But not all the way better." Sigal sighed. She wanted it to be all the way better now! Just lying around all day was boring--she couldn't run or play tag or anything!
At least Ame was here. And being with her mate made being stuck lying around all day a lot better than it could have been.
