I love to read but my problem is that i am very picky. The book must captivate me right from the start or at least one chapter in.
Recent reads: Tithe- Holly Black Valiant-Holly Black Hell's Angel- Sonny Barger

I think you'd like Brimstone, and it's sequel Dance Of Death by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child.

It's about a series of murders. The main characters being Special Agent Pendergast and Luitenant D'Agosta. The murders are all linked and are said to be the work of the devil himself.
I'd rather not give out much detail. It would give the story away.

I also read the first Cirque Du Freak book by Darren Shan, i finished it this morning.
It was alright but i rather think that the Demonata series looks much more interesting.

I'll take a stab at recommending The Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell. The first book is called The Last Kingdom, and well it's epic and about the northmen taking over England, but it's cool.
Or if you are into revenge stories, I say the classic The Count of Monte Cristo is awesome. One of my favs. If you've seen the movie, the book is WAY better.

Doesn't the saxon stories take the side of the English? I would much rather read about the Viking standpoint than the British. Which is why i bought The Vikings: Conquest and Culture. mrgreen

Yet, he lives like a viking so it's cool. Trust me, if it was just on the English side I wouldn't like it either. xp

I've read one of the many dark stories by christine Feehan, and I recommend "dark demon", then again, I haven't read the others.
Another would be the vampire stories by Amelia-atwater rhodes:forest in the night touched me the most, mainly because I have a little brother who I would die for, and kill anyone else who would hurt him....
Another story(yet not in stores) would be my book "the cursed angel"

I know the name scares off alot of people but Anne Rice's Memnoch the Devil surprised me. It talks alot about God and Memnoch and plays with you alot. Makes you think. I like when a book does something more to you than just tell you a story. I guess religion or philosophy is something I'm quite interested in hearing about because it helps me understand people more. And reading Rohinton Mistry's A Fine Balance taught me alot about Indias caste system in a very enjoyable way. You follow the lives of people belonging to some of the lowest castes and tells their amazing, but yet realistic, story. It's very thick though, but I felt it was definately worth the read. And talking about philosophy, Jostein Gaarder's Sophies World is a must for those who can bear it =p Lastly! Jan Guillou has only written good books. I believe I've read them al apart from two. However, he's half Norwegian half french and writes in swedish. So if his books have ever been translated to english I don't know. A damn shame if they haven't.
