Unfortunatly, I think I am Vash from Trigun. I like... never mean to cause trouble... but it follows me as a hound to a bone. And, although my morals are simple... they seem to be utterly confusing to those around me.
But if I had a choice! Easy! I'd want to NOT be the main charactor! The main charactor has all of the problems... make me the evil genious' side kick... I can cause trouble (on purpose) and yet still have a slim glimmer of hope not to be knocked off by the protagonist!

I'd probably be that perky, quirky, and overly cheerful girl that everyone either loves or hates but always has something to say when the protagonist is making a bad decision (ala Winry from Fullmetal Alchemist). I'd do my best not to get too annoying though... heart
