Has there been a big increase in Lupin fans lately? Maybe the past month or so..
I've seen many many fans lately, and earlier even got PMed by someone who liked my signature ( YAY! xd )
This is on various websites.. I think I've yet to meet someone offline that liked Lupin.. But then again, I don't really go anywhere other then shopping these days, so.. xp
I doubt they'll take advantage of it though.. Although, I've heard it's going to be shown on Canadian TV, if true, that'll get some more fans, eh?

I haven't really noticed more fans, but then again, I'm now a lurker on Gaia. xd
However, I hope you're right. Lupin fans need to be more vocal in support for it. I persoanlly think some of the reasons things get so popular and licesed (Naruto, Bleach) is because those fans are louder.
Not everyone is happy with the dubs and such, but they still have it. Just something I thought of.

When I first joined I had a Lupin thing in my signature and most comments I got were "That show sucks" and crap like that. And then later some told me they liked the show and I had some people asking me about it. I think I've gotten two PMs where people said they liked the show. I also got Uni and Valen interested in it because they were vurious since I'd mention it all the time. There were a few others I got to watch it when it was on AS.
If it's shown in Canada that could be good. Couldn't hurt, really.
On a side note I'm to the point where I am hating anime. Every show I see is the same stupid look with a boring story and boring characters and bad voice acting and they are all just awful. mad It'll get to the point where people will ask "Do you like anime?" and my answer will be "No, I like Lupin." I had some hope with the sci-fi animonday thing, but no such hope came.

I lurk in forums alot, and I've just been seeing lots of people mention that they like it. So, I added a link to the guild in all of my signatures in hopes of recruiting some. One person even said he wanted to start a Lupin guild xp
I think Lupin would be popular if Geneon would advertise the damn thing. It's hard to find on their site, and seems as if they're given up completely.
Twonk- Yeah, I used to see alot of comments about people hating Lupin too. Which is why it hit me when all these people were talking about how they liked it xd
I hope that rumor's true, could help get some more fans.. And members xd
I know what you mean, but I'm not real sure I ever left that point. I always hated anime until I saw Lupin (which I didn't think about as anime because it was just an awesome show, really).. I guess my mind became a little more open, but even so, all the shows I try to watch still suck (for the most part) and resemble everything I ever hated about the stuff. So, mostly. I only watch it to laugh at it, but that gets old too. I suppose I'm glad, though, that I'll never be one of the scary fans.

I think why Lupin fans aren't as vocal about it is because they aren't as rabid as fangirls and fanboys of other series. Also, there are less pretty boys in Lupin then other series, so we don't get the teenage girls going "OMG this guy and this guy would be such a cute couple!" which I find refreshing.

Take a look at fanfiction.net I'd say most of those fanfics are gay ones. It's scary. You don't even wanna know what I've seen on Deviant Art burning_eyes

Yeah, unfortunately Lupin isn't safe from the yaoi and yuri people. *shudders*
Another thing is it's not a fantasy show. There are no cat girls, no girly men (I can't get that hideous girly Goemon drawing out of my head xP), nobody with mystical magical powers, no ninjas or pirates, each with their own magical powers, and no crazy mythical animals as any of the main characters. I left some stuff out, but you get the idea. xD Plus, as we have mentioned before numerous times, it's also the style. Freaking anime snobs. mad
I think I will be like that now as well, see Lupin as an awesome show and seperate it from the anime I have come to know.
I was thinking one night, which I do a lot since I can never seem to fall asleep anymore, that some company, preferably Geneon, should strike a deal with whoever does the specials and get the rights and every year release the specials on DVD instead of on TV. I'm sure I'm making it sound so much easier than it really is, but it would be cool. The specials might not be great, but like Nani said, at least we'd have them available. =3

I also like the art style more then the generic style.. Eww that picture was so scary. Do you mean release them in English? That would be cool, but it would also be nice if they picked up the second series again.. Damn them xp P.S. Sorry if my other post sounded rude, I was just saying..

Yeah, the company would release them here in English. 3nodding It does seem odd that they would just leave a series unfinished. Did they quite doing them or are they just taking a break?
And yeah, a good advertising campaign would help. Although I don't know of any other show Geneon does. xD So maybe they just don't advertise for anything?

As of now, Geneon is offering them for download from Vuze.com. No new episodes, though. The first download is free, but after that you have to pay money. Maybe if the sales are good, they will start releasing them again. However, I don't think Lupin is doing well. I wish they would just finish it, even if they never got any more. I think Geneon is over halfway through, so I want them to do the rest. Who knows if they will. gonk Geneon does other shows that are popular, so I'm sure they could help themselves by advertising it on one of their DVDs. I know they have Trigun, X/1999, Gankutsuou and others. Just those three would be alot of advertsing, I bet. They really need to try.

They said they stopped due to lack of interest. But since it's becoming more popular, maybe.. Well, for now there's bootlegs. If Geneon decides to release more, they'll get more of my money xp Vuze? It sounds familiar.. Isn't that thing supposed to be like Netflix but download? But really, they do need to advertise it.

Nani: Ah, okay. Only one of those I have seen is Trigun and I hated it. *wonders if Vuze has any episodes I've never seen* Geneon should have really done the first series first instead of going with the longest of the three. But yeah, if they have already committed themselves to half of them then they should do the rest.
Piru: Lack of interest for a show that's not advertised and comes on at 4am? How odd... xP I'm guessing the people at Geneon aren't very bright.

Meanwhile back at Geneon... blaugh "Hey look! We just got Lupin!" domokun "Do we have a marketing campaign?" blaugh "No." domokun "We're expecting a little known (to Americans) anime show from the 1970s to sell itself???" blaugh "Yup." domokun "Sounds cool."
*** And that is what really happened. xp Really, I'd like to see ONE piece of advertsising of Lupin on a DVD. The only on I've found was on a Lupin DVD. gonk Why are they advertising Lupin on Lupin?
