So my journey began when I traded in 4 of my older games in order to get a new one, I had my sites on Suikoden V. I traded them in and was offered a membership card which gives 10% off used games, 10% added onto credit for sold games, and 20% added credit if 4 or more games are traded in. So anyway I went ahead with it right away. There was a special deal where I only had to pay $1.50 for a month membership. There was a girl clerk at the time and she made the account for me which gave me $45 for the games I traded in.

Later that day, I ended up buying Dawn of Mana for $50. It was horrific and I was soooo angry and wanted to just trade it in. So I grabbed 3 more older games of mine and attempted to trade them in two days later but the older manager guy said I couldn't do it because I was only 17 and the account was a mistake because it's only for 18 and up years. I guess he could tell I was young because I was about to go on a hike and had no make-up and I wore childish ugly clothes. Of course, I WAS SO FRICKEN ANGRY!!! LIKE BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS!!!! ARGHHH!!! scream So he told me to come back with a parent and it would be figured out.

Later that day I decided to go again but I put on my high heels, wore a somewhat showy top (in good taste though!! promise!), and my sophisticated eyeglasses xD LOL! This time, it was a really young, nerdy looking guy. He let me trade in the games and asked for my ID but did not say anything about my age. I ended up getting $45 on my card again and chose two games to buy, this time I found the right game Suikoden V and also chose Gurumin for PSP. Their prices added up to a little over $45.

To make things short, the guy ended up only charging me for Suikoden V. I don't know if it's because he liked me or he just didn't know what he was doing..... I didn't notice until I saw the receipt. I only ended up paying about $28 and was not charged at all for the PSP game!!! In fact, I still have $17 on the card!!!!! xd So everything worked out for the better, I got the game I wanted in the first place and another one for free, with money still left to purchase (next on my list) a used Dragonquest VIII for around $15. WOOHOO I'm STOKED!

Props to you if you read this whole thing, it's pretty darn long. So moral of the story: it might be in your benefit to dress up a little when visiting the video game store. xD Have any of you ever experienced something like this?

Well, I go to art school, where nearly all the guys are understandably nerdy otaku/game gurus/what have you. I think I was the only girl in the entire school who wore make-up that wasn't goth make-up, and had fashion sense. Needless to say, when those nerdy guys found out I played games, I found myself not having to pay for a lot of things. I got Pokemon Pearl for free! 4laugh

I go to engineering school, where it's not strange to have classes with a total of 150 men and 6 girls. Some of these girls actually play games, or at least to a normal degree... needless to say, these girls are quite popular among us dudes. confused

So I have no option but to second your opinion.

Curiously, the most hormonal people are not the computer science nerds (and that's true, a lot of them are computer nerds): the horniest men are the mechanical engineers.

Why you shouldn't? Gamer girls are not very common at least in my town, so that automatically makes you an interesting person. Besides, people are usually much more mature in college* and don't usually judge you in advance. So don't worry about telling the guys that you're a gamer girl. wink

Just don't go on an advertising parade for that, because this would make you an attention whore, and you probably don't want to become that, would you?

* That is, unless you go to any engineering major in my college... for some reason, these careers seem to be a magnet for immature pieces of s**t who just want a one-nighter with all the girls they can get.

Not a video game store clerk... but several people in internet cafes to pay for my hours and food. XD They offered, I never asked. Might as well. Don't think those even count as seducing since all I really did was play and when I was gonna log out someone would vouch for me.Those days are over now... my hubby takes care of me. <3

I get things far too easily from my nerdy guy friends.
And I've often been tempted to take advantage of the clerks in video game stores. I've had a few of them flirt with me here and there...but its never been on days when I was actually in there buying something. Usually only happens when I'm just there to look...and ask when they're getting something in.

When I was a teenager, I was in our local EB games with a friend when one of the clerks approached us. He helped me find a game I was looking for and complimented me, saying that any guy would want a girl who gamed for a girlfriend. I was touched and gave him my number when he asked, but he never called. Years later (after going away to college), I ran into him again and he confessed that he'd been too shy to call me, but wanted to know if I was still available. I wasn't at this point and felt very badly for it, because he seemed like a nice guy. Now I tend to go to the local Gamestop instead, so as to not rub salt in the wound.

Recently, I was due to attend a friend's wedding and I wanted to test out the outfit I was going to wear, a purple skirt and top combo. However, the top was a wee bit low cut. But my friend who was also due to attend the wedding and I went to the mall in our outfits and went shopping. I purchased a new game at the store and both of the clerks working that day came out to wait on us. They INSISTED on giving us the full run down on the discount of buying a strategy guide with the game, in GREAT DETAIL. I was flattered that they found us attractive, but insulted that they felt the need to give me the strategy guide schpeal, when I'm in there at least once a week.

It's funny that by wearing a more showy outfit can make someone look like a completely different person. confused

well... im in highschool and kind of look very young and childish. people think im younger than i really am. my mom says its because people can sense my innocense and i can be naiive. so i can't pull of flirting with a eb nerd cause they'll just look at me like wtf. not that i would do that...

but whenever i go into a gamestop or eb, the guys there always look at me like, y r u in here? sometimes it makes me feel uncomfortable. then when i ask the clerk about upcoming titles, he just looks at me and has this big, i hate my job attitude.

but if i got a job there one day, i would be really happy being around games all day and talking about games. but i realised that maybe if i do get a job there i wont get any respect unless i wear reveiling clothes. maybe u guys are right. someday i hope to be a videogame designer, still.

I applaud all my fellow female gamers who have done this! I have not, nor ever will dress up in such a manner. I will do the easy thing and hope my bf gets the job at gamestop, (i'll find out tonight) and if he does I'll just mouch off his discount.
