 The little kit that once met Kitsumi was now fully grown. Except, maybe..ahem...her wings. Which was a touchy subject to Ayako, she had folded her tiny wings as close to her body as close as possible, hoping no one would see them. She wasn't in a really good mood, she admitted to herself, but she didn't want to take it out on her brothers and sisters, especially on Hemi, who had full-grown wings. It was all her luck anyway.
And now, she had come back to the Mountain again. She wanted to visit Kitsumi, the older kitsu seemed to be so cheerful all the time, which she hoped with rub off on her. And perhaps the other might listen to her problems, but then again, she didn't want to trouble anybody. Starting upwards, she stared around the Mountain. Okay, where did Kitsumi live?

Though Saix was usually calm no matter what the circumstance, he was completely furious at the moment, and his body language and facial expression certainly showed it. "Where the hell is that stupid kid..." He growled, moving through the grass with long, fast strides. Would it kill the brat to sit still for second while Saix and Edgeworth looked away, without darting off?
Apprently not.
Irritated, his gaze scanned the area, mentally hoping that Edgeworth was having better luck with finding Kitsumi. If it were up to him, personally, he wouldn't care if she fell off a cliff. If that happened however, he knew that Edgeworth would never shut up about how he had let this happen. So, of course, the only other choice was the find her.
Saix turned his head as he caught sight of a moving figure. Kitsumi? It took him only a split second to tell that it wasn't her. For one thing, the Kitsusagi seemed completely calm, but if it had been Kitsumi, she surely would have been prancing and rejoicing about how she had escaped her babysitters yet again.
He stood there silently for a moment, taking another look around, before his gaze fell on Ayako again. Gritting his teeth, he approached her, ears flattened and a few paces away. "Have you seen an adult Kitsusagi?" He asked, with a deep frown. "She often carries two plushies with her. If you don't know, then please don't waste my time."

Ayako had noticed a black cloaked figure which reminded her vaguely of someone...very familiar. She frowned, not managing to place the memory. Lost in deep thought, she didn't notice him getting closer until he talked.
Blinking, her turquoise eyes fell on him, studying his cloak carefully. Yes, she did see it before... "Kitsumi?" She was the only kitsusagi that Ayako knew that carried those two plushies around. A small grin flashed on her face for a moment. She must have escaped from her two babysitters again. "You're one of her babysitters aren't you? Need any help in finding her?" She wanted to see Kitsumi anyway.

Saix's frown deepened, and a small twitch of annoyance seemed to pass through his body at that name. "Yes. Kitsumi. You know the little brat then, I assume?" He asked, arching a brow. Then, he snorted. "A babysitter. I never thought I would posess, or ever wanted, a title like that."
Saix's gaze often flickered away from her, just to scan the area in case. The last time his charge had escaped, she had amused herself with trailing him as he attempted to find her. Once Saix had learned of this, it took everything in him not to try mauling the other Kitsusagi.
Turning back to look at her as she spoke, he gave a shake of his head. "No thank you." He spoke, flatly. "I'm not the only one looking for her right now, and I'm certain we'll find her soon."
Far behind Saix, but still visible to anyone who was looking, ran two figures - Kitsumi, who was having a blast trying to escape her pursuer, and Edgeworth, who had a similar look of irritation on his face as Saix had.

"She's not a brat."Ayako answered smoothly, ignoring the question. Of course she knew her. A small grin settled on her face. Well, Kitsumi had said they were her babysitters, and they, at least he, seemed to have that responsibility.
He had refused her help, not knowing the simple logic of, the more kitsusagis, the better it was. Oh well, fine. Turquoise eyes widened as she stared at the chase in the distance. She would, really, she would have shouted Kitsumi's name, and perhaps the other kitsu might have stopped. But since he had refused her help, she merely pointed a white tipped tail lazily in their direction. "Well, the other seems to have found her."
Suddenly, a name struck her thought as she examined his coat. "You look like my uncle Xigbar. Do you two come from the same past lives?" Yes, Ayako knew the topic about past lives, her family was quite an expert on them.

"You have your opinions, and I have mine." He replied, calmly raising both brows and giving a small shrug. Not many knew what a pain the other Kitsusagi was, unless you were forced to spend all your time watching over them. Really, even if she had freetime, he wouldn't have much to do, but lying in solitude somewhere was far better than either spending your time babysitting, or chasing after your runaway charge.
"Now if you'll excuse me..." He started walking again, away from Ayako when she suddenly spoke. For a moment, he was silent, before he glanced over his shoulder at her. "What?" Then, her gaze following the direction her tail was pointing to, a frown etched itself on his maw again. "So he has."
Kitsumi was evading Edgeworth quite well. She was smaller than the average sized adult Kitsusagi, and was swifter than her pursuer, which obviously worked to her advantage. "Run faster, Edgey!" She called to him.
"Don't call me that!"
Quite far in front of Edgeworth, the Kitsu skidded to a stop as two figures caught her attention. Recognizing one as Saix, she squinted at the other. "...Ayako?" Then, rising wobbly on her hind legs, she waved her forepaws at them. "HIIII SAIXY! HI AYAKK - !" She would have continued, if not for Edgeworth, who had caught up and tackled her. The two struggled with each other and, have seen enough, Saix turned away with a grimace, rubbing his forehead. Kitsumi gave him a headache.
But this all seemed forgotten for a moment, when Ayako spoke. He looked up, before raising a brow. "Xigbar?" Then a pause, "You're uncle?" A smirk of amusement seemed to cross his maw.

"True."Ayako said with a shrug. Different people had different opinions and she respected them. Like how her sister was shy in front of groups of people, and another...was rude. Okay, now that, she couldn't comprehend. In front of family, it wasn't polite at all. How Katsumi acted in front of others, Ayako wouldn't have cared a damn.
The grin spread on her face as she watched Kitsumi lead Edgey on a big chase. "Hey Kitsumi. Looks like you're having fun!" That was meant to make the other kitsu get more crazy then she already was, if she could, of course.
"You do know him." Calm turquoise eyes observed the light-blue haired kitsu. "He's my mother's twin sister's mate."

Kitsumi flailed as she attempted to escape from Edgeworth, but the older Kitsusagi had a firm grip on the smaller one. He grabbed the scruff of her neck, as if she were still a kit, as she attempted to scrabble free. "Aw, come on Edgey..." She whined, pouting. Then, looking back to grin at Ayako, and nodded. "Yupyup! Or I was, until Edgey caught me, but it was fun while it lasted!"
"Saix, I'll bring her back now." Edgeworth called, before letting Kitsumi go and gently nudging her forward, watching her catiously. "No more escaping for you, Kitsumi." He said, as they started away. "We should chain you to the house or something." He then grumbled. In reply to this, Kitsumi looked at him and, in a confident voice, said, "I'd find a way to free myself from it. I'll...chew through it." "A metal chain?" "Yes."
The two padded towards their home, caught up in their strange conversation. Turning away from then, Saix shook his head, before looking back at Ayako.
The smirk widened when she spoke, and he emitted a snort of laughter. "Xigbar? Mate?"

Ayako let a soft giggle escape her lips at the struggle. A metal chain? Ayako blinked, the possibility of spells tat could break through it skimming through her mind. "Perhaps Diffindo, or Incendio. But Incendio might accidentally set her on fire." She mumured in a soft voice.
"And what's wrong with that?" She asked, cocking an eyebrow.

Saix watched after them as they left, before catching scraps of what Ayako was murmuring. He quirked a brow, but said nothing.
The male then shook his head. "Assuming that you're talking about the same Xigbar as I am, I just find it...surprising to hear of this." He said, with a shrug. "I merely never expected to hear that any of my former...comrades...would have a mate."

"And why would that be? Love can strike anyone, you know."Ayako stared at him in curiosity, tails waving in the air lazily. Her wings were still plastered against her fur. Love was confusing, as what she had heard about Liliana. Endless and Edward, her two best friends in love with her. Poor Lily.

Saix snorted, giving a little shake of his head. "I never thought about, and never intend to think about, matters such as myself falling in love. For one thing, I'm uninterested, and the second, love seems to be an emotion from the heart, in which I, as well as the others - like Xigbar - seem to lack." He didn't know how much Ayako may have known about them and their lack of hearts, if she and Xigbar had ever spoken, or were close.

Putting her head to one side, Ayako laughed. "Love can strike you when you least expect it." Although she herself hadn't experienced it before, she had seen many examples around her. Like her father who had said before that he wouldn't have a mate, yet look where he ended up with mom. Ten kids, all grown up now.
Lacking hearts? Ayako stared at him with curiosity, "And if you don't have hearts, how do you live?" She countered, not knowing much of her uncle Xigbar. The news had just got to her. "Plus, you seemed annoyed and a little impatient when you had to find Kitsumi. May I add that those two are feelings? Anyway, how do you expect Aunt Noko and Uncle Xigbar to have kids without one having a heart?" The light kitsu had no idea why she was rebutting his speech, but oh well. What was said couldn't be taken back.

At this, Saix snorted. "An overused expression, if you ask me." He said, flatly. "And though it may be true for some, others would prefer not to be struck with love, ever." He lowered himself to the ground, laying like a sphinx.
His gaze flickered boredly to the other Kitsusagi for a moment, before he turned away, and stared at whatever happened to be in view. "Not something I could explain, nor something I believe you would understand." He said, voice flat. Then, he was silent as he thought about what the female said for a moment, before frowning. "Perhaps, but...we're more of empty, heart-lacking shells than anything else."

Ayako snorted. "True. But it really is. I've seen kitsus around me like that." An almost wistful expression came to her face but she shook it off. "They're all, 'I will never find a mate!' But in the end..." Her eyes clouded over and she sighed. "They still end up falling in love." There was a slight pain in her chest, although she wasn't sure what was causing it. Or...who.
"Maybe it's how your world works?" She murmured, padding over to where he was. "These things are...somewhat hard to explain." Like her father's previous world, where everyone knew how to use magic, except those called Muggles. Looking up at the sky, she watched the clouds floating aimlessly. "Like my family. We can use magic...which is not like most kitsus, I guess."
