Actually I am only keeping myself from swearing and cursing enough for a sailor to take pride by masking it with humor.
Basically around 12-1 last night my desktop terminal went blank. This was strange because I was nowhere near the thing. The monitor went black and the fan was running, however despite that, the power button was completely and utterly unresponsive.
It sucked. I would really really really like to violently curse, but we have a few younger members and I get creative enough to bypass a lot of the word filters.
Anyways, the fan was running and the standby light was on, but that was all the activity I could get from it. Someone told me to try pulling the plug, which fixed the problem of the fan running because the thing went completely dead. No response has been roused from my computer, but after a while the fan has started running again.
This doesn't help one bit.
So, I am using an older laptop I had laying around, but I felt like letting everyone know.

That pretty much so sucks.
Are you sure that you did nothing to hurt the screen? If you broke it... then... it's basically dead.
And if you wish to profane... Go ahead... I beleive that I may be the youngest member here.... So have a party! why don't we... pretend?

Are you sure that you did nothing to hurt the screen? If you broke it... then... it's basically dead.

Oh. That does suck. My laptop has crashed twice now. And I ended up killing the screen on it. :/ So I sorta know how you feel. A slew of curse words is an acceptable response to this, though if you don't want the wee ones to see, maybe explode all over the Crew board? Or post in white text. ninja

Oh, that sucks (as I'm sure a lot of people said already) gonk
I've been with this monitor and most of my CPU since I was 8, and most of the parts have been changed.. after repeatedly crashing and loss of files over the years. I know your pain.

Well I seem to be a bit hard on my computers it seems
THe first one I had ran so low on space it couldn't open windows.
Which, you have to be pretty low for that to happen.
THe next one was a temp laptop which had a partitioned hard drive. It was second hand from my dad and the monitor was fscked up pretty badly to start with, but I forget what happened to it. Suffice it to say it rests with fishes.
Then I got this one which lasted me three years. No real clue what happened to it.
