I love this pairing. Like, a lot. xD It's my 2nd favourite right now. (I only have 3 pairings I like, so yay. Tokka, then Maiko, then Smellershot. Keee~)

I just think blushy Mai is so cute. >w< I can't wait for the interaction between Mai and Zuko in the 3rd season.

Then again, that interaction could make or break the pairing. Let's hope that it makes it.

How many times have you watched Zuko Alone just for that clip? xDD I think my count is somewhere around 12 or so.

I'm not sure if this is considered necro-ing, since it's only been 21 days, but my apologies if it is. >.<

I was just watching Zuko Alone again today, and I noticed a bit of a thing that might show that Zuko liked/likes Mai. This might be a bit of a fangirlish stretch, but hey, if I thought of it immediately, it can't be that far-fetched.

So, in the second flashback bit, just before they were summoned to the meeting with Azulon, Zuko was playing with his knife, and Azula teased him about it. The dialogue went like this:

Azula: You waste all your time playing with knives. You're not even good.
Zuko: (getting up, his cheeks flaming) Put an apple on your head and we'll find out how good I am!

Okay, so, one could assume he's embarrassed and that he just made a witty retort. But then, we remember it's Zuko, and he is incredibly bad with subtleties and wit.

Another possible explanation of his response, and his interest in knives, is a certain girl who happens to be very skilled with knives. It's possible that he was trying to get something in common with her, so that they could interact as equals/friends, not just her friend's brother or his sister's friend. The apple bit pushes this idea, as that event is still fresh in his mind, and if he likes Mai, it is likely THE thing on his mind. The blush could have come from the embarrassment of being reminded of his motives.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I think it also makes some sense.

I don't really like this pairing, BUT! It is very likely, i even read one of the interviews (avatarsprit.net) that there will be a bit of Mai/Zuko interaction going on there, personally though, their too much alike which makes it a real bore. No offence! No offence! i mean, if you like this pairing it's cool, jolly good! Mai's a cool chick and all ^___^

Mai and Zuko are cute together, I just wish they would idk see eachother now when they are grown up. Have a talk or some sort of interaction would be nice.

Neither do I, it seems like a HUGE excuse, besides their too much alike. Mai always complains she's bored and Zuko is known to be quite boring. She needs someone like Sokka to really keep her on her toes.

You do realize, though, that in Season Three, Mai probably has more airtime. I mean, Zuko is with Azula's gang, and one of the major reasons that Mai went with Azula was to see Zuko again. At any rate, we'll probably see more of her personality.

Really, she isn't a boring, or perpetually bored, person. There are changes in her expression, subtle but still there, and she isn't a careless person. Really, I can't see how Zuko is boring. He's loud, obnoxious, and whines when stuff doesn't go his way, and bad luck seems to follow him. I think Mai wouldn't be bored around him; besides that, she'll probably be mondo blushy nervous around her childhood crush.

True. Sokka would so totally annoy Mai. Toph and Mai might take a liking to each other, though. Or be at each other's throats. It's hard for me to tell, since I do like the thought of Toph and Zuko together. o3o Hmn..

Oh man, that diplomatic scene would be total win, though. Heh. XD
