The Jedi Temple

"The path of the Jedi isn't an easy one, and even if you succeed, it's a hard life."
~ Qui-Gon Jinn

The central Temple Spire rises a kilometer above the surrounding cityscape, and is surrounded by four individual Council towers. All five towers are supported by the main building, which sunk its roots deep into Coruscant's crust. The ziggurat shape of the main building, coupled with the five spires, is meant to symbolize a Padawan's path to enlightment through the Force. It is also meant to focus the energies of the Force, allowing those within to have a near-continual connection to the mystical energy field. There were several contemplation stations located on each of the four smaller towers, where a Jedi could go be alone with their thoughts. Each of the four towers face one of the ordinal directions, and they bristled with antennae and sensors that provided the Jedi with continual information from across the galaxy. Many Jedi historians wondered at the placement of the Temple on Coruscant, where all native life had been swept from the planet by the millennia-long urbanization, and yet more than a trillion beings lived out their lifes.

Jedi Rankings

User Image

"Our own council we will keep on who is ready. More to learn, he has..."
~Yoda

Abilities available to Jedi characters can be found here.

Initiate: This is probably the shortest of all ranks. Initiates are taught the basic skills of a Jedi, as well as being granted a single training lightsaber. This lightsaber does very little damage and cannot give much more than a little "zap" to an opponent. At this rank, you are not expected to go on missions.

Padawan: In contrast to Initiate, this is certainly the longest of all the ranks. Though you can be promoted to a Padawan once you have completed your basic training, you cannot advance anymore without a master to train you. This may take a while. Once you have a master, you will begin your advanced Jedi training. With your master's permission, you will be allowed to craft a single lightsaber, as well as expected to run dangerous mission, accompanied by your master of course.

Knight: Now a fully fledged Jedi, a Knight as mastered their advanced training and now trusted with the task of training another. However, it is encouraged that Knights to do not take a Padawan straight way until they are used to their rank. They are also expected now to run missions solo. They are still limited to the use of a single lightsaber, however they can craft a new one instead of the one they used at Padawan. Knights continue to learn about the Force from the Jedi archieves to furthur advance their knowledge and skills.

Guardian: These are one of the most elite Jedi in the temple. Their skills with the Force and a lightsaber are almost unmatchable. At this rank, Jedi can ask the Jedi Council to further increase their skills with a lightsaber by learning a new style, either Dual Lightsabers or Doublebladed Lightsaber. However, it is encouraged that Jedi stick to a single lightsaber, as the other styles are much more aggressive and, if learned, should only be used in the most extreme circumstances.

Master: These are the best and the most wise Jedi in the whole Jedi Temple. They sit on the Jedi Council and discuss the best actions for the Jedi to take when aiding the Repubic, as well as advising the Republic on contraversial decisions. These are the only Jedi that can decide when they think other Jedi are ready for promotion, and any choice made by a Jedi Master should be respected by all the other Jedi. Masters are still expected to take missions, but rarely take a Padawan, as they are often growing old in life. Very few Jedi ever make it to Jedi Master. Out of all the Jedi Masters, one will be ranked 'Grand Master'. This Jedi heads the Jedi Council, and if often considered the most wise and respectable in the entire Jedi Temple.

The young man stormed down the corridor impatiently. He absently twirled the training saber the "forgot" to return when he finished his drills. No doubt a Master would find him with it and confiscate it. He rounded the corner and heard the noise from the Mess Hall as he drew closer to lunch. he was late, as was often the case on the days that he had Force Training. He only hoped the other children hadn't decided to eat his rations again.

He bowed as a master left along side his padawan learner. He knew the child from his classes. She was two years younger than Connor, and she had been higher ranked than him for nearly that long. It would be a snowy day on Mustafar before they let him advance. So be it. He would wait until he was a gray haired old man if he had to, though he hoped he wouldn't.

The Jedi Temple, one of the most magnificent structures on Coruscant and the most recognizable in the core worlds, was stunning as well as beautiful. The sanctuary of the Jedi, and Viran's home. Even though he wasn’t a Jed yet, he was close to being a Padawan if only he had a Master who was willing to train him. But that didn't happen a lot, most didn't even glance in his direction but hopefully one day he would get one and he would become powerful in the ways of the light.

Yep. He had to feed himself the bantha fodder everyday to get himself through the day. Viran knew a Master most likely would never choose him because of the raw force energy he possessed; his unofficial nickname was the "next Anakin Skywalker" or the "next Darth Vader". That came in the sense that if he fell to the dark side, but that was the primary concern with a Padawan who was strong in the force and had some anger...

Jerev sighed, remembering the thoughts that he had pushed to the deepest recesses of his mind and round a corner, seeing the turbo-lift up ahead. And its doors were closing. The initiate burst into a quick run, while cursing his Jedi robes which slowed him down. He used the force to give him a brief burst of speed but that was it. "Hey hold the door! Hold the door!"

It seemed like none of his fellow Jedi heard him because by the time he got there, the doors were long closed and he swore he saw a Padawan snickering at him. He leaned his back onto the door, and sighed. "Bantha poodo..." He murmured.

As the words escaped his lips, with a hiss, the doors behind him slid open and he landed hard on the ground. The next turbo-lift had arrived. Sooner than expected.

Connor looked down as the boy fell to the floor. "Jerev." He said as a greeting. He wasn't usually one to waste words that held no use. "How'd your training go today?" He wasn't perticularly interested to be honest. From the little he knew about the boy, he had a sickeningly high force potential. Something that annoyed the telekeneticly retarded initiate. He reached down to offer the other boy a hand up. At least they were in the same boat master-wise.

The Lone Ronin

A shuttle came from orbit and landed about fifty yards away from the Jedi Temple. A few people disembarked along with one man in what seemed to be a suit of black armour. His name was Ronin. Ronin had come from his home planet in search for the Jedi, for he wished to become one himself. He truned an started to walk towards the Temple without hesitation.

As he walked, his vibrosword clanked aginest his black armour, and wind blew his hair and cloak around. Once he reached the door of the temple, he went inside. As he enter, he started asking random people how he could become a Jedi and where to apply. Him, never really seeing a real jedi or padawan, didn't know anything that many others might know.

Talon walks up the steps of the jedi temple. He then gets to the entrance to the jedi temple.

"I wonder if I can find a master to train me," he says as he looks around. There were a lot of jedi in the traditional robes. He wanted to find a jedi master soon. That way he could follow his dream. He walked into the jedi temple.

Ronin saw the other man walk into the temple and he turned towards him. "Hi, you new here too?" he asked and turned back to the direction he was standing. He sighed and moved the hair out of his face and then scratched his head.

"Considering that I don't have a Master... Quite well." Viran accepted the hand and felt himself being pulled up from the ground. He had just gotten out of the sparring room, and had taken lessons from the Master in hand to hand fighting techniques, of course he usually didn't do well in that subject because of course he was blind folded and suppose to "use the force" but he prefered to use harsh tactics. He was getting better but he wasn't getting use to the daily bashings by his fellow Jedi. "How about you, doing well?"

"Despite still being masterless as well, and the fact that I can't seem to lift a rock from 10 feet away, I'm surprisingly excellent." He gave a slight smile to the lad. HE waited for the wise crack. The others almost always had something to say about his dysfunction.

Was he lost? He had no clue where he was? Frustration gnawed at his mind, and he couldn't shake off the feeling he was being followed by some ghostly apparition.

Turning, Elladan Kenet stumbled when he saw an elevator that was in operation. Pushing the button, he saw the elevator stop, two Jedi already inside. His eyes darted open a bit in awe, but he quickly resumed his smug smile. "Oy, Jedi. Bout time too, I was starting to get restless. Do you guys know where the Jedi Masters are? Thank you?"

Without giving any chance for reply, he stepped in, almost on top of Connor's robes. He didn't bother saying sorry either.

"Well.... can we go now?"

Jedi Knight Ines was a hard worker. She toiled daily as an Archive worker, and spent most of her missions on various planets with the intent of discovering new history. She was a willowy woman never seen without her robes. Her lightsaber had never been seen by any student of the Temple under the age of twenty-three, and it was a popular rumor that she didn't even have one. This, of course, was untrue-- the blade was a glorious violet-- but she, amont other members of the Order, had not used the weapon outside of training in a long, long time.

It didn't matter, anyway, for Ines did not walk the path of the blade. Instead, she focused on the Force itself, what it could do for people, and how she could channel it within herself to bring about a greater good.

Ines was currently in the archives, surrounded by the glorious history she loved so much. Her sandy hair was pulled back, as to keep the curls from impeding her work. She had just received a new shipment of memory upgrades, and a pair of droids were installing them within the archive computers. She herself was kept busy by organizing an ancient shelf of scrolls-- she'd been working on the translation for three years now, and was finally coming close. Once they were translated, she was going to scan them into the computers and install the Basic text. She smiled proudly at the parchment, and willed it not to fall apart before she was finished.

At the same time, Knight Luctja was leaving a training room. Unlike Ines, Luctja had practically made a career out of her lightsaber skills. She was an Instructor of Younglings in the ways of basic 'saber fencing, but she'd made quite a name for herself in the Academy's dueling room. She was a proud young woman, with fiery red hair and a temper which had taken her years to bring under control. She was a foil to Ines, as she cared little for history (though it did come in handy. Sort of.), and only stepped into the archives when she needed a new combat holovid.

Nevertheless, the two had gone through Padawan training together, and thus had a sisterly affection for each other. Every time the two crossed lightsabers, Ines lost. Every time Luctja needed something in the archives, it was up to Ines to find it.

Luctja poked her head into the Archives as she passed, hair still damp from her post-training shower. "New batch of kids," she said with a grin. "You want one?"

Ines smiled politely. She was a pale sort, having spent most of her time indoors, and the sight of Luctja's fair skin tanned by the sun (where had she been on that last mission, anyway?) made her crack the barest of smiles. "Unless they wish to distract me."

Luctja wrinkled her nose. "Your loss," she said, closing the doors. "Nerd." She strode down the hallways at a fast pace, enough to speed her journey up long enough to keep any of the masters from lecturing her about impatience.

Muirgen was always the worst of them. Tall, collected, and straight as a board, she was one-of-a-kind, with a stern face, but the patience of Massassi tree. Luctja respected her, knew she was not one to cross. Muirgen was serving on the Jedi Council, and had trained at least four Padawans in her lifetime. All of them were Jedi Knights now, and Luctja had been one of them.

Even after all their years together, Luctja still wouldn't want to meet Muirgen in a dark corridor after the curfiew. Her stern nature didn't allow her to treat anyone-- even old friends-- unfairly.

However, Muirgen was nowhere in sight right now, and Luctja was pleased to find a small cluster of masterless initiates right in her pathway.

Ronin started to walk forward yet again, looking from side to side. "Is there a place that I apply to become a Jedi, or some kind of mission to test my worthyness...ness" at the end of his question, he kinda confused himself and shook his head. He kept walking, but ever so slowly. Again, he asked the same question, over and over again.

In his mind at the time was the thoughts of how bigger and how more populated this place is compared to his village back on saubri 7(i think i spelt my planet wrong xd ). And as he thought this, memories of his mother came into his head, mainly the days of sparring and fighting each other. They were her attemps to train him that didn't work as well as she wanted them to. Though through a few years trainning himself, he now thought he might have stood but only a small chance againest her.

"You'll get the hang of it sooner or later, we all have our small short comings." Viran smiled reassuringly. The intitiate had his fair of troubles as well as it seemed, and Jerev thought that everyone was in a better situation than him. The comment actually caught him unaware and it showed a bit on his face before quickly fadding.
