Wes Craven remade Carnival of Souls?

Okay, after doing some quick research, I have learned that there is, in fact, a remake of the 1962 classic, but Craven had very, very little--if any--creative influence on the set as he is only credited as an executive producer, and all executive producers ever do is arrange the financing for the project or obtain the literary property. In other words, Mr. Craven bought the film rights, raised some money for the budget, got other people to write a new screenplay and direct, then put his name on top of the movie title so people would think that this would be of some quality.

but i have a thing for old flicks in general.

its spooky without using much for special effects, its all in the story and the music.

Wow. I didn't know there was a remake. I do know that it was filmed at a deserted amusement park known as The Salt Palace in Utah. I went there and it has been rebuilt to look nothing like the original. They have rock concerts there now.
I like the original, but it is mostly atmospheric and "what the hell is going on?" horror. I don't remember any intestine eating.

A woman is in a car accident. After the accident, she tries to go on with her life and she keeps seeing creepy people that no one else sees.
That's my version of the story without giving away any details.
Maybe someone else has a more up to date version of the plot. It's been a while since I've seen the movie.
