For most beings that exist, there are two variables that they must follow. The variable X for timeline they follow and the variable Y for the reality they exist in. Under normal circumstances, the variable X is continually increasing and the variable Y stays constant, but in the case of ‘Unique Individuals’, the two may disobey these laws.
It is all but guarantied that a specific individual will not exist in every reality that follows the same timeline. For any given point in the continual timeline, there is an absurd number of realities that are following that point, though the number is not infinite, it is far higher then any number we can perceive. A new reality is created at every important decision that is made and because of this many beings may have died or never existed even though the two realities are at the same point in the timeline.
Those that exist in every reality (or more then 96% of the countless realities) are called the ‘Deciding Factors’. It means that in some point in their life, they will play a paramount role in the continuation of the timeline in their reality. A ‘Deciding Factor’ is the polar opposite of a ‘Unique Individual’. While a DF exists in every reality, a UI exists in one and only one.
There are three different forms of UIs. The UI:X, the UI:Y and the UI:0.
A UI:X Is a being that can transcend the timeline by either moving back and forth on it or stopping it. It means there is only one of them on the entire timeline. When a UI:X goes back in time, he will see everyone who is at that point in time except himself (and if by chance there is another UI:X in the same reality, that person will not be seen either). If he were to stop time, he could move around un-restricted by any of the physical laws but would still only exist as a single being in that paused time. If he were to try and move an object or another, he would either find them impossible to move or find that he was leaving a trail of that object for every point in space between where that object were to start and where it stops and when time continued, all those beings would re-form into one instantaneously at the endpoint. It is unknown to me what would happen if a UI:X tried to bring someone into the past or future along with themselves, or if it’s even possible. ((Good examples of these people would be Tacitus and Fierce. And if either of you want to fix that last sentence then feel free))
A UI:Y is a being that can transcend the barriers between realities. This means at any one point along the timeline, this being is in 1 and only 1 reality. When a UI:Y changes realities, others around him may be able to see into the next reality in which his is stepping, but would find themselves unable to follow unless physically touching the traveler. When a UI:Y brings another being with him into another reality, it is a very risky process. It is hard for a single reality to contain two of the same individual in it and in the case of DFs, it would be almost impossible. After an extended stay, the stress of having two of the same person in 1 reality would cause it to self destruct taking both beings with it and if this were to happen to a DF, both the reality he moved to and the reality he came from would be destroyed. ((Good examples of these people would be Carl and Keno))
A UI:0 is the most unique and I have never personally encountered one. It is a being that can transcend both the time and space barriers. It is theoretically possible for this being to exist but is the greatest statistical improbabilities ever recorded.
A being can become a UI at any point in their existence. When this happens for a UI:X, the timeline they exist in becomes dynamic. This means that if the UI:X creates a choice in the past or changes the option someone chooses, a new reality will be created for this decision starting at that point in the timeline.
But when this happens for a UI:Y, the reality they inhabit becomes static. This means that even at the important choices, only 1 possibility will be followed and no other reality will be created for the choice that was not chosen. Even once the UI:Y has left the reality, it will stay static until it finds its end however far into the future that may be. The only way to return the timeline or these realities to their original properties would be to the introduction of a UI:0 at the point of the dynamic option in the timeline or after the UI:Y leaves the reality he existed in.
There are also lesser degrees of each type. A being who can only move between two realities, for example, would be a limited UI:Y1 and a being who can only pause time would be a limited UI:X1. The chances that these limitations crossing is far less unlikely then a full UI:0 to be made, so there are three sub-classes to divide these into. UI:1 is a being with limited travel on both ends, a being that can only move between a limited number of realities and can only pause time. A UI:X0 is someone who has full movement along the timeline and can only travel certain realities and an UI:Y0 has full movement between realities but can only pause time.
These are all in relation to this timeline and this reality and, on a graph would be in the upper right side of the graph where all numbers are positive. It is theoretically impossible to travel back before all realities began (to the entire left side of the graph) But if someone were to enter a reality that did not follow the current timeline, an artificial reality if you will, then it would appear in the bottom right grid of the graph and would not follow any time what so ever.
