Two roads where right in front of him. One lead to the right, and the other to the left. A sigh was heard, as Edward Elric stared at the crossroad. Stupid crossroads that have two directions, he thought, hoping that they would somehow miraculously turn into one. He had no idea where he was, and now he had no idea which way to go and to top all of that, he was getting annoyed. His head kept moving to the right, then the left, and he was unknowingly glaring. What was he doing here anyways? He may never know. All he knew was that he was searching for something, the something…he had no idea what it was. Just searching. Another sigh, and the glaring and head turning continued.

Slowly trotting down a path, a grey and spotted mare ventured onward. She turned around a bend that came on the left of a fork in the road. That's when she noticed something standing in the middle where the two roads met. It was another horse, one that wore garments much like Abel did. She paused seeing him, feeling herself get nervous. Slowly, she made started walking again, wondering if he'll notice her or not.

His ears picked up the sound of something coming towards him, pulling his thoughts away from the stupid road. He looked up, only to see a pretty grey mare coming this way. She had come from the left, and since she looked unscathed, he was thinking about going that way now. And so now, he was completely engrossed in the roads again, thinking of maybe waiting for another Soquili to come from the other side to see if they were okay.

Her soft green eyes glanced up to him as she approached. He didn't seem to interested in her, so perhaps she could continue onward without going into a nervous fit about talking to him? As she got closer, she noticed that he wasn't that much taller than her, much like the other horses she's met before. Were the others just giant soquilis? Now she couldn't help but wonder about that.

As she got closer, he finally snapped out of his daze and took his eyes from the road. He looked up and instantly noticed she was almost the same height as him. But he also noticed she had green eyes. Was that normal? And why couldn’t he be taller? He moved out of the way as she was less than a foot away. “Where does that road lead to?” was blurted out before he even knew what he was saying.

She had expected him to not say anything and let her pass by, so she jumped when he actually spoke to her. After regaining her composure, well, as much as she could, she looked down the path then back to him. "That road? It leads to a clearing then eventually to some mountains." She answered softly, shifting a bit.

She jumped when he had talked to her. Did his voice sound creepy or something? Sighing, he looked down the other path, and turned to her. “Do you maybe know where that road leads too?” He really didn’t want to waste his time waiting for someone else to come from the other path, and he didn’t want to waste hers for talking to him. It was surprising that the feeling of searching that he had been feeling wasn’t pushing him in any sort of direction, and it annoyed him also. It made him feel as if he was wasting his time.

Charlamagne gave her tail a soft flick as she finally calmed herself, though she still had that stomach tying feeling... that she always had trouble getting rid of. Her eyes glanced to the other road when he asked his question. Where did it go? She can't really recall going down it before, but she did remember seeing a path when she came across the lake. "That one? I'm not sure, but I believe the lake."

Edward pondered. A lake sounded nice, and he probably needed a little relaxation. He was getting annoyed to easily, and was probably causing problems for this mare that was being nice to him and helping him. Sighing, he looked down both paths and decided which course of action to take. “I think I shall go down…the path that leads to the lake.” He looked to her and smiled, then bowed his head. “Thank you for all of your help, um, what’s your name?”

Charlamagne looked down the path she had just came from for a moment, no real reason really, just to check. Her tail flicked softly before her green eyes returned to the stallion. She still couldn't get over the fact that he wasn't so much taller than her. Perhaps he's just a teenager. She thought. The mare quickly snapped out of it when she was asked for her name. "O-oh, my name? It's Charlamagne. You're very welcome....?" She replied, hoping that he would fill in the pause.

“Edward, Edward Elric.” He tipped his head to her, his braid falling over his left shoulder. Lifting his head he smiled, turned, and started walking down the path that he had chosen to go down. As he passed her, he again noticed that they were of the same height. He might have been a little taller, a half a hand at most. He wasn’t short really; just that he wasn’t as tall as most. That made him hang his head down as he slowed his trot, almost coming to a stop.

"It's nice to meet you... or have met you Edward." She replied in a soft, yet sweet voice, nodding her head in return. Just as he started walking down the path, she too, started to walk away. It was when she noticed him come to a stop when she worried. With a curious tilt of her head, she turned to face him and the direction she was going. "A-are you okay?"

At hearing her vice he tuned back to look at her. “It was nice to meet you too.” After a slight pause he put on a semi-fake smile. “I’m fine, I was just wondering if I could ask he a quick question before I leave?” He looked at her and raised a brow.

This stallion sure seems odd. Charlamagne couldn't help but think. She knew it was rude to think so, but his actions have been a bit... erratic. "A question? Sure... I'll try my best to answer it." She replied with a small smile.

He tilted his head. To ask, or not to ask, that was the question. But not really. The more he though about his own shortness, the more aggravated he became. Shaking his head he quickly asked, “Do you think I am short? And am I asking too many questions?” If she thinks I am short...breathe, Ed, breathe…Calm yourself, she’s just a girl, we don’t yell at girls.
