DISCLAIMER!: There are many things that are mistaken. I will edit these as soon as I get off of my lazy a** and do something about it. Things can and will be edited, as I am still working on the full creation of this character.

Username: Xaith Nightshade
Character name: Xaith (He doesn't know his last name)
Race: Fox demon
Age: 18
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 198 lbs
Appearance: Tall to most, Xaith has a very average build, though has very well-toned muscular structure. His long midnight blue hair, which matches his eye color, hangs down just below his nose, but he normally keeps it swept out of his face, half his bangs hanging to the left of his face, the other half to the right with a few stray bangs hanging in the down in the middle. His eyes are very relaxed and calm, but not in the least dead. Some consider his eyes his best physical trait. Even though they are dark blue in color, they still radiate an almost unreal hue. When angry, though, they shift to a very sharp look. Not an angry look, but a mark to show that there are bounds that you are not to cross. Most get the hint right away and watch their tone and what they say or do. Not a single scar, blemish, or a single spot of lighter or darker skin mark his smooth tan complexion.

History: A small infant was brought into the world only to be discarded a week later. The infant cried and cried for an entire day before it finally was starting to give up hope. It had not eaten nor had it had anything to drink in twenty four hours and its body was beginning to shut down. As its cries began to die down and its vision began to fade, a dark shadow crept its way over the child. The child’s vision went out. When it awoke, it had been washed and fed. It saw a shadowy figure kneeled over a fire, poking at it with a stick. It was it this point that the child understood that this was its guardian.

A man by the name of Saldeh had heard an infant’s cries a day ago, but had figured it was a passing couple’s child and paid it no mind. But after the screams became more and more gut-wrenching, low and less frequent, he decided something was wrong. He worked his way over to a field by the woods in which he lived, spotting an infant. With no parents to be found, he quickly picked up the child and went for a hunt to find some food and water. If no one else would, he would take care of this child.

Seven years passed and the child named Xaith had grown into a very fit and intelligent young child. The child was not human. He was a fox demon. One whose parents had abandoned him and had been taken under the wing of a dragon demon. Saldeh looked like any regular human whenever he chose to. But anybody who could either smell the scent of a demon or sense a power reading, they would know that Saldeh was no human. Not that it mattered. Saldeh wasn’t hiding from anyone; it was just much easier to move around as a human than it was to stomp around as a dragon.

Xaith, on the other hand, could not hide certain things. For the most part, he looked like a human, but he had fox appendages. These included a midnight blue tail that appeared to have the tip dipped in black ink along with a set of ears of the same color. His hair was the same color as the fur on his appendages, and his eyes were slightly darker than the rest, but still gave off a mystifying radiance. He could not control these things because he’d never had a father of his bloodline to teach him. Saldeh knew how to fix his own appearance, but didn’t know how to teach a fox demon. Xaith would not know until later on in life that Saldeh was not his real father.

Xaith had gone out for a day-long hunt to sharpen his skills a little farther. He’d gone hunting, trained in the vast forest, running at his top-speed of forty miles per hour, jumping from tree branch to tree branch, punching and kicking trees for hours on end, fished with his bare hands, everything. After his camping and training session was complete, he went to the river for a bath. After this he would return home.

Upon arrival, he saw a large dragon in the field by he and his father’s nesting grounds. It was lying on the ground, hardly breathing. Xaith knew that his father was a dragon, but he’d never actually seen him transformed. It wasn’t until he realized that the dragon’s scent was his father’s that he rushed over and kneeled by the dying dragon’s head. His body had been sliced open above his left shoulder, down his sides and on his legs. His breathing was slowly decreasing and though Xaith knew it was the end, he refused to admit it.

Urging his father to get up so they could go to the closest city Xaith stood up and tried to recall the way. He turned around to encourage his father to get moving, he noticed that his eyes were shut and he was no longer breathing. Had he not been on his training, his father might have made it to the hospital. Xaith walked slowly over to his father. He didn’t accept it. He wouldn’t. Tears filled his eyes and clouded his vision as he dropped to his knees in front of the dead dragon’s head. He reached out with both hands and lightly nudged the dragon’s snout, trying to wake him. But he would never wake.

Xaith tried for what seemed to be an eternity in his eyes to wake his father. Tears streamed down his cheeks and his body fell limp, his head resting on his dead father’s snout. He should have been there. He shouldn’t have gone out. His father had probably stayed behind trying to protect him. Had he been there he and his father could have taken off together and gotten away from his attacker.

His attacker.

Those words played in his mind over and over again. His sadness was soon taken over by a hate that could not seem to be tamed. His body began to ache terribly, so much that he thought he was going to die. He screamed out in pain and clutched at his chest. It was only a few moments later that the pain became something amusing. He began laughing insanely at the tremendous agony that his body was going through. And then he began to like what was happening. Not the pain, but the surge of power that he felt. His anger grew and with one last scream, this one filled with pure hatred, the boy’s body became enveloped in a thick dark blue aura. One too thick to see inside.

The aura dissipated. The boy was no longer there. In his place, a large fox about 4'3" stood, hair on end. This was no regular fox. The whites of it’s eyes had gone black and the color of his eyes were glowing an eerie red. The fur was midnight blue and its teeth were sharp and their strength could put even the most advanced metals, even diamond to shame. The demon drooled hungrily and looked around for something. Anything. It wanted to kill. With a small kick off the ground, the demon was set into motion at speeds nearly inconceivable. It reached the closest city in less than a minute. It would have been a day’s flight for a dragon, but this animal reached it with ease. It smelled meat.

Tearing apart the city’s inhabitants in one night, the beast was still blood thirsty and hungry. He moved on to the next city. This repeated for three days. In those three days, twelve cities had been swept clean of their inhabitants. Maybe a few strays would survive. And those were the people who let the world know of the Midnight Beast.

The fox, having finally had its lust for blood quenched, headed back to the dragon’s resting place. The demon may not have been aware of who he was or what he was doing or even right from wrong, but he did know that this dead being was important to him. The dragon had been torn of its skin and meat. Some scavengers must have found it. It was now just a heap of bones with small patches of meat still stuck to them. The Midnight Beast curled itself up and laid its head down and shut its eyes, going to sleep for the first time in three days.

Xaith woke with a start. He was covered in blood. His recollection of the three nights that he was that beast was only a dream, or so he thought. Why he was covered in blood, though, he had not the faintest idea. He looked behind him to see his father’s bones. How long had he been out? Maybe he’d awaken to find scavengers picking at his father’s carcass and fought them off all in a daze. That would explain why he was covered in blood. He sighed through his nose. What was he going to do now? He’d had training to survive on his own, but it wasn’t that. He could live by himself, but what was he without his father?

But he felt something moving around inside of him. It was very familiar. As if it had been with him his whole life, but was just now beginning to stir. But whatever it was, it made him feel at ease. It made him feel safe. It made him feel strong. After a few days of staying at his father’s resting site, he dug a grave with his bare hands. One large enough to fit a small dragon’s bones in. It took a few days to finish the hole. And when he did, he threw every bone in there but the skull. He would always keep something to remember his father.

After burying his father, he stuck his father’s skull under his right arm and headed off. To where, he had no idea. He walked aimlessly, only stopping to eat, bathe and sleep. One day later, he stumbled across a city. But nobody was there. It reeked of death. Blood was sprayed across the city walls and roads, rotting bodies piled in the streets, some decapitated, others missing their skin. It all seemed vaguely familiar, but he figured it was just because he’d been around death not but a day ago. He wondered what could have happened to this city. He trailed on. In a matter of two weeks, he’d seen eleven other cities just like the first one. Each time, his curiosity slowly grew.

He spent the next seven years of his life in the wilderness. Hunting for food, fighting other demons for survival, living the rugged life. At the age of fourteen, he was as sharp as ever and hadn’t met a single demon that gave him too much trouble. Then again, the demons out in the wilderness, while having grown up in rough terrain, had little to no real strength.

During his travels, he spotted a man being harassed by two other humans not but twenty yards away. They were right next to a city and were probably doing their business away from civilians. Xaith paid no mind until one of them pulled a knife. He dropped his things and was there in a flash. Quickly disarming the man, he got rid of the two who had been roughing up the other one. The man thanked Xaith and offered him a place to stay. After some convincing, Xaith took up the offer and stayed with the man and his wife at their home. It wasn’t a big secret that Xaith was a demon by his appendages, but they didn’t mind in the least. The man named Zack’s wife, Maria, thought that it was the most adorable thing she’d ever seen.

A few days after Xaith started living with them, Zack told Xaith about the men who had been after him and why. There was a big clan led by a demon who was looking for a chemist such as Zack to come up with a kind of potion to give somebody great strength. Zack had the brain capacity to create something like this, and he knew it, but he would never make something like that because it would cause chaos in the world. The clan had been hunting him down for a few years. Recognizing Xaith as a very talented boy, he asked if he would be up to getting rid of the clan for a price. This was his first bounty.

Xaith infiltrated the clan’s base and got rid of every human goon with ease. But when he got to the ring-leader…That was when things got bad. In the end, he punctured the demon’s lung, killing him. But the demon’s last dying words were what got Xaith to become an official bounty hunter. He would always remember those words: ‘You will meet the same fate as your father…’

Obviously, this man had known who Xaith was and knew his past. He also must have had something to do with his father’s death. Even though he knew he was going to die, he still said those words. That meant that his father’s killer was still out there.

He returned to Zack’s home and confirmed that the leader was dead. He was paid, as promised, and learned a little bit of information about Zack. He was a fox demon as well. But he was able to hide his appendages through training. Zack told Xaith that if he wanted to learn, he could just ask. Xaith, having found somebody just like him was overjoyed. But unfortunately, he couldn’t stay. He had to go out into the world and search for his father’s killer. Zack understood but told Xaith that he could come back whenever he wanted.

Xaith set out and found many different demon-related bounties. But not one ever had a single clue to who was behind his father’s death. Four long years and Xaith decided to give it a break for awhile and live like a normal person for awhile. But just as he’d gotten comfortable living a commoner’s life, Zack showed up with new information. He’d found Saldeh’s killer. His name was Kailan and his nesting grounds were in the Nind Mountains.

Powerful demons, most likely sent by Kailan to stop him from getting there interrupted his path, trying to stop him from reaching his destination. The three that had been sent were almost too much for Xaith to handle, but he got through them one by one.

Xaith headed for the mountains to be greeted by an ogre-sized man, who knew exactly who he was. He treated the boy as if nothing were wrong. As if he hadn’t slaughtered his father. This angered Xaith and he rushed blindly at Kailan, but was swatted like a fly to the side. Even at his height and with high strength, he was no match for this behemoth. Still acting like he didn’t know what was wrong with the boy, he scolded him and told him to leave before he finished him off. Xaith, knowing his limits, left.

He returned to Zack and took up his offer to train him. After a few months of vigorous training, Xaith had learned almost everything. How to control his fox growths, how to harness his demonic powers and use them to his advantage, how to bring himself up to the highest potential he could get to (as far as the both of them knew), everything. He was ready to face Kailan.

He found his way back to Kailans abode. He had some difficulty, but in the end had Kailan beaten underfoot. Telling him that Zack had informed him about everything, Kailan finally became aware why the boy was attacking him. Kailan had not killed Xaith’s father. Zack had been the one behind it. Kailan explained that Saldeh had befriended Zack only to be betrayed. Xaith thought back to the demon he’d killed on his first mission. ‘You will meet the same fate as your father…’ He had meant that he shouldn’t trust Zack because he would follow in his father’s footsteps and be betrayed! His best friend…His only real friend had lied to him. Deceived him. Betrayed him.

He returned to Zack and confronted him. Zack became serious, knowing he’d been caught. The two battled fiercely, but Zack prevailed. Zack knew everything about Xaith's fighting patterns, being his teacher. This gave Zack the upper hand. Zack left Xaith for dead in the same field that he had killed Saldeh. Like father like son.

But Xaith didn't die. As he neared the end of his life, something inside of him, that same thing that he had been feeling ever since his father died when he was seven years old began to stir from Xaith’s newfound power. A voice began to talk in his head. It was a voice that both struck fear in his heart, but made him feel at ease because he knew that this power, this…Thing was a part of him. Finally able to harness his full potential, he knew how to become the Midnight Beast. He realized that those dreams from when his father died were not really dreams at all. He realized that with this power, nobody could stop him.

A flash of the beast seared it's way into his brain and Xaith knew that the nightmares he’d had as a child weren't nightmares at all. This beast was living inside of him. Was him. And it knew that the only way for Xaith to survive was to let it out. Xaith let control of his body go and the Midnight Beast emerged once again. It went on yet another rampage, and with so much more power than before, the death toll was catastrophic.

The beast was a part of Xaith, there was no doubt, and the beast was no parasite, but it was another part of Xaith that had wanted out ever since the death of his father. It was the side of him that wanted to kill. Finally gaining control over the beast, Xaith returned to normal for good. or at least, he thought. He was now able to turn into the Midnight Beast as he pleased, but that would later be proven wrong.

Xaith hunted Zack down one last time, finding him by a river's waterfall leading down into the bottom of a cliff. That was where the final battle took place and that was where Zack's watery grave was.

Deciding there was nothing left for him on this planet anymore, no longer having any care of what happened to him or anybody around him, he finally let himself go. His best friend had ended up being his worst enemy, the only person who could have connected him to his father was probably gone and would never be found again. What was there for him? What was the point? He didn't want death. He didn't hate life. He just found that there was nothing for him anymore. The Beast could take over. He just didn't care anymore.

The Beast did not go to another city and wipe out its inhabitants. Instead, it let a large energy worm burrow into the ground and into the planet's core. The energy exploded, causing a reaction that would wipe out the entire planet. None would know if it was a good thing that the Beast's body was too strong to be taken along with the blast. Only time would tell. The Beast drifted through space, being able to survive without oxygen due to training for the fight against Kailan.

The Beast floated for what seemed to be an eternity until there was a sharp tug that sent him hurdling toward a green and blue planet. Earth. The Beast smashed into the ground and was knocked unconscious.

Xaith awoke in the Northern most parts of Canada.

Abilities

Accelerated Healing: Most demons have this ability. This can allow Xaith to heal from small injuries in a matter of minutes. Small injuries include cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc. Larger wounds such as one left after being stabbed would heal in a few days.

After image: Fighters who can move at amazing speeds can use this technique. It leaves behind a fading image of the user in order to confuse an opponent.

Telekinesis: This can do quite a few things. This can allow Xaith to wrap his energy around an object and have the object move around as he commands, using it either as a weapon or a shield. He can also reach into the thoughts of others during combat and see what their next move is. This also includes getting a full history from whatever he touches’ brain. Depending on whether or not they have a telepathic barrier, Xaith can effectively see and dodge anything they throw at him. But Xaith has not mastered this technique like some have and cannot even think about taking down a barrier. Being able to reach inside of somebody’s mind, he can communicate with people through telepathy. This is the area where nobody really puts up a block to stop incoming messages, so it can be used on just about anybody.

Senses: Xaith’s hearing and smell are boosted to almost unheard of amounts. Luckily he can control his hearing to an extent, that way he doesn’t fall victim to being stunned by a loud or sudden noise. He can hear other’s heartbeats with ease. Their breathing patterns, just about anything that makes noise. And even if he doesn’t hear you, he can definitely smell you. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just taken a shower, everybody has a smell. Plus, his sense of smell and hearing surpass that of a dog demon, so don’t try to sneak up on him. It won’t work.

He can also sense movement through the air by hearing or even feeling a disruption in the air’s regular flow. Say an object is hurdled toward him while he is not facing it, Xaith can sense the air being disrupted and will know that something, even an invisible object is moving through the air.

Flight?: He can’t really fly, but Xaith can sure jump better than most people. He can leap off the ground and travel three quarters of a mile in a single jump while at his weakest point. This can give the illusion of flight, but he CANNOT fly.

Speed: With different levels of powering up, Xaith can move at different speeds. Both being a fox demon and training his entire life have allowed him to move up to Mach speed at level two of six in power level. Maximum speed can allow speeds up to 2,599.8 miles per second. At the same time, maximum speed is only in his Midnight Beast form, which is rarely used. Full speed in regular form is 1,299.9 miles per second.

His speed is his greatest ally when in his regular form. The speed he uses it what makes his physical attacks seem much stronger. His strength may not be extreme, but for his species, normally known for agility and cleverness, which he both possesses, he is unusually strong.

Aura Control: Xaith’s aura does not stop at just a visible energy surrounding his body. He can thicken his aura to either prevent attacks, stop his opponent from seeing him in order to make a move without complete detection of what exactly is going on or both at the same time. A strong enough attack will be able to penetrate the barrier, but you might as well try to cut through lightning.

He can also use this to make his signature so small that it is almost impossible to sense. This helps him create an element of surprise by a sneak attack for those without a heightened sense of smell or hearing.

Energy Channeling: Xaith can channel his energy to certain parts of his body such as his hands and feet. Upon contact with a surface, Xaith unleashes a wave of explosive energy which can deal devastating blows.

Soul Hopping: Being a fox demon, a close relative to the Kitsune, he is in a sense immortal. Being able to detach his soul from a dying body, Xaith can hop into another body whose power is greater. This transfers knowledge, abilities and strength as well. He can also alter the body’s appearance to suit his liking.

Alternate Thoughts: Xaith may have control over his Midnight Beast form unless a surge of rage or a life threatening blow hands itself to him, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t have another being inside of him. Due to this, fighters with telepathy may end up entering the wrong chamber of thoughts and will not be able to read Xaith’s thoughts, but the Midnight Beast’s. In order to throw the opponent off even further, if they can happen to find both chambers at the same time, they will only be able to work on breaking down one telepathy barrier at a time. In order to give the impression that the Beast’s chamber is in fact Xaith’s chamber, he puts a slightly higher level of barrier. A warning to anybody who enters the realm of the Beast’s thoughts, things will change. Even the strongest willed warriors have succumbed to the Midnight Beast. It will tempt you. It will give you images of some of the most horrifying images but it makes it so that you want the carnage. This can sometimes even waken an inner beast inside of somebody who dares to enter the Beast’s chamber.

Draw: Xaith can extract an energy attack from an enemy, use it once or twice to get the feel of the attack, then learn how to perfect it within a few tries. This only works on energy attacks and does not include teleportation or instantaneous movements.

Strength Increase: This increase can come from one of two things. One way is from a near fatal injury. His body subconsciously takes over and allows Xaith to use more potential than he regularly would be able to. The second way to awaken this is from a sudden surge of rage. Xaith has trained in the arts of controlling his emotions and can instantly change his mood from happy-go-lucky to ********.

If his mind should be taken over by a rage he hadn’t inflicted upon himself, the Midnight Beast will awaken, but that will be saved for later.

Should both of these increases of power occur, which he may resort to in a very intense battle, his strength will have increased twenty-fold of whatever strength he is at during the time that the change occurs. Should he be at maximum strength, his limits will be pushed without strain on the body. If you have trouble with Xaith as is and this happens…Run. His strength is already higher than it should be for his race and increased twenty-fold can cause serious damage.

Cosmic Force: Should he power up to level two, his strength will increase enough to where a punch can force the air forward at the same strength and velocity as a direct hit. This cosmic force can reach up to twenty feet in level two. With each level he gains, the range increases by ten feet.

Telepathy Force: Quite simple. Xaith gathers a large amount of invisible telekinetic energy to his front side and unleashes it in a large wall of the energy at his opponent at a high speed.

Energy Worm: Xaith focuses his energy into the palm of his hand and lets a large string of energy snake its way out of the center of his hand. This energy can phase through solid surfaces and reside underground until Xaith wills it to do otherwise. This energy is an explosive one. He can use it as a remote mine. He can also control how this string of energy moves. Another use is to have it wrap around an opponent and explode.

Weapon Creation: Xaith can use energy and channel it to the outside of his skin to form a blade on any part of his body. He can both solidify this energy and leave it as pure energy.

Rejuvenating Wings: Xaith can summon three wings, each a foot wide and three feet long. These three wings aren’t really wings at all, but flat barriers, or so they seem to be. They form a peace sign without the circle around them. All wings appear to cancel out an energy attack, when in reality, they actually absorb the energy. Each wing sends the energy taken to a specific area. One wing goes toward Xaith’s energy, should he be running low, one wing takes the energy to Xaith’s body, which will heal his fatigue, and the last wing goes to the Midnight Beast. These wings can only take a blast that is their size or less. But Xaith can mold these wings into one large circular barrier in order to stop a larger attack.

If Xaith sees fit, he can make the wings keep the energy that they have received and channel it to the space in between the three of them and launch an attack with equal value to the amount of energy taken in.

Midnight Crash: Summoning power from the Midnight Beast, Xaith collects an invisible until released energy onto any given part of his body. Unless projected through the hands, the energy is normally gathered a foot away from Xaith’s body. Though it is invisible, one can still sense a vast amount of energy coming from Xaith’s figure. Since this energy is drawn from the beast inside of him, it does not take any energy away from Xaith, himself, though if he is not careful, the energy can end up being too much for his body to handle. This attack’s speed and power were unmatched on his home planet, but it is not his most powerful attack.

Midnight Eye: The Midnight Beast’s eyes can see even the fastest of movements, even those faster than its own. The Beast gives this ability to Xaith whenever needed in order to keep up with an opponent’s movement. This does not include instantaneous movement.

Oxygen?: No oxygen? No problem! Xaith needs to breathe, no doubt, but he can hold his breath for insane amounts of time. He trained himself for this while training to defeat Kailan, who had a poisonous aura.

Dark Hour Sky: Xaith can manipulate the sky to look like the time of midnight or later. This does not affect time itself, only an appearance brought on by Xaith. Speeding up time will have no affect on the shroud of darkness. When midnight or later, Xaith’s power level is increased tenfold. Nothing can change this except for Xaith.

Illusionist: Not to be confused with a magician. Xaith does not use this ability, but the Midnight Beast will. Should the Beast take over Xaith’s body, it will reach out into its victim’s mind and make them see (or not see) certain things.

Shotgun Blast: Quite simple. Countless little energy pellets are shot from Xaith’s hands. Xaith can manipulate these small blasts to be from the size of pennies to the size of grapefruits. Explosive upon contact.

Night Flare: Can only be used when both the Beast and Xaith come to an accord. This uses both of their energies and compacts it into roughly fifty rounded triangular shapes with little energy tails following behind them. These are about the size of a grapefruit but hold in an almost untold of amount of explosive energy. The shot’s movements can be manipulated by Xaith. Sometimes a stray pellet will run off and destroy an acre or two of land, but for the most part, they will stay on target until contact. Xaith has only used this technique once, as it is both dangerous to himself and those around him. Sucking the energy out of both Xaith and the Beast means that the Beast cannot take control over the body while Xaith heals because it, too, will be vulnerable.

Blue Collision: Only bested by the Night Flare, Xaith uses this attack rarely. He gathers energy into one hand or two, creating an electrical surge of energy followed by a blue orb of energy being surrounded in black electricity. He launches the orb to create a beam that shoots from his hands. Can be either explosive or ongoing energy.

Midnight Beast

History: There are demons who use their abilities to cause destruction just to see how far their powers can go. There are those who kill people to feel like they are in control. Some just to gain dominance. Some kill because they think everything around them is a threat. But there is one that kills because it is all he knows. He now resides within the body of an eighteen-year-old fox demon named Xaith. He escapes whenever Xaith is hit with a surge of rage or anger. It is at that point that this hellish beast can roam free and do the only thing he knows. But it wasn’t always like this. This beast was not born with Xaith.

Some forty thousand years ago, on the planet Ehrgis, a wolf demon named Dalquis lived a life of a high class warrior in the Destimo Forces. The Destimo was a group of warriors who was lead by a powerful warlock named Sekyo Tamura, who was born not a demon, but a supernaturally enhanced human. Small things like accidentally lighting his belongings on fire at first, the boy was undoubtedly aware of his powers. The boy’s powers became too hard to control and he ended up destroying his house, which sent him on a mission to find somebody to help him control his powers at the age of nine. Thirty years later, he led the Destimo and met a man named Dalquis, age 25. The two, over a course of two years became very close, as if they were brothers.

Over those two years, Sekyo taught Dalquis many things that a regular wolf demon was not supposed to do. In particular, soul hopping. This technique was used for those on the verge of death. One could detach their soul from their body and send it into another to save their life. The appearance and overall genetic composition of the body taken over would revert to the detached soul’s original form when used. Dalquis only used this technique four times, being able to keep his demonic blood and abilities each time. He lived for over forty thousand years before things got out of control.

Sekyo kept the Destimo Forces running, Dalquis being second in command over the entire force. Created to keep complete balance over the world, assassination missions were the only real things that these so-called ‘forces’ did. They evened the scales between the demons and the humans. Should the demon population get out of hand, the Destimo would take care of it so that they didn’t run over the humans and vise versa. If an attack was being attempted on either the demons or the humans, the Destimo’s job was to stop any and all strikes. Not much of a real important role in the eyes of most, but they believed that they were doing the entire world a favor.

After his fifth near-death-experience, Dalquis was sent on a mission by himself to take out a group of rowdy demons planning an attack on the humans. Everybody always thought they were invincible…Until they met the Destimo Forces. Sekyo knew that Dalquis would return safely. An unorganized group of demons would prove as unworthy opponents. He was right. Two weeks later, Dalquis returned after taking a short break from the Forces. It was understandable that he would want to take a break, but what he brought back with him was not.

Dalquis had found a young woman named Cristina Essence who had apparently been attacked by that same band of demons that had been planning an attack against the humans. Sekyo did not approve of this. He had nothing against humans, having been one, but the mission stayed on the mission. There was no overtime. Dalquis disagreed. They argued over it and never really came to terms on the entire ordeal, but decided to leave it alone. They continued on as if they were brothers. They weren’t going to let a disagreement destroy their relationship, but Sekyo still didn’t agree with Dalquis’ decision. He would soon fall for this girl and that would cause problems with their missions. But he would give him the benefit of the doubt as he always had.

A year passed and Dalquis and Cristina were an item and Sekyo had even learned to get along with her. Being a human without any kind of training of combat, she merely stayed with the Forces, never going out on any missions since they were too dangerous for her to handle.

Another year and there was a strike on the Destimo base. A large army of powerful demons attacked, knowing that they would never be able to get rid of the human scum if the Destimo were still around. This mass of demons would prove difficult for even Sekyo and Dalquis combined. They stayed in a bunker the size of a small house while the rest of the Forces combated. Everyone knew that the Forces would not be enough to wipe out this amount of demons. There was just no possible way. The warriors went into battle knowing their deaths would be inevitable, but they had taken out twenty five percent of the swarm before every last warrior was stripped of his flesh and eaten alive by the blood thirsty demons. The swarm made its way inside of the base. That was when Dalquis and Sekyo stepped out of their bunker and waited for the demons. The screeching and growls grew louder and louder as the demons made their way to their destination. Cristina was told to stay in the bunker and she listened until she heard a struggle outside. She knew what was going on, but needed to be by her love’s side. She ran out to see Dalquis and Sekyo, standing side by side, holding off the enemy with on large combined energy blast. This tore apart the entire facility in front of them, but the demons just kept coming. Both becoming weary, their power slowly depleted and they were no longer able to keep up their beam. The swarm attacked. Sekyo and Dalquis fought them off with what little energy they had to spare. A ball of energy had been launched toward Sekyo, who had evaded it. The ball continued moving toward Cristina. Dalquis bolted after her at speeds he had never reached in his entire time living and pushed her out of the way just in time to be caught up in an explosion that sent him hurdling through the bunker at over three thousand miles per hour.

Sekyo knew that if they were to stay there, they would all die. He used an instantaneous movement that Dalquis wasn’t even aware Sekyo was capable of. Dalquis had been knocked unconscious, so he would never know how he had escaped. He awoke a month later to Cristina and Sekyo fighting. Sekyo had said that had it not been for Cristina, Dalquis would not have been injured so badly. Dalquis got up and tried to calm his friend down. Sekyo loved Dalquis like a brother and wasn’t going to sit back and watch him risk his life for some woman. Unfortunately, the swarm had learned of their whereabouts and was headed their way. They didn’t have much time and they were both still worn out from the battle a month ago. Not to mention that the swarm had probably doubled its size.

When the swarm was a cloud in the sky, they knew it was over. Cristina spoke. “Kill me…” She knew she was going to die and would rather have it be done by Dalquis’ hands than some rabid demons. He couldn’t. He wouldn’t. He could hardly tolerate the mere thought of even hitting her, let alone killing her. She pleaded quietly, but would not whine or cry. She was by far the strongest human he’d ever met. She would die horribly if the demons got to her. He could make it end quickly.

He gathered an amount of energy into his right fist and he kissed his love one last time. Just as he was about to pull away, her breathing slowed and she fell asleep. Eternally. He laid her down as tears slowly filled his eyes. Looking up, he saw Sekyo lower and open hand and hang his head. He understood what had happened. Sekyo had let her die peacefully. Casting a spell that faked death as fatigue. She passed as anybody would want to. Peacefully and content. As much as he wanted to kill Sekyo for killing his love, he understood he did it out of compassion. The last words he ever got to say to his best friend were “Thank you.” The next thing he knew, he was flung back several thousand yards. He saw the swarm pile up in the sky and crash down on their target…Sekyo. He had thrown Dalquis back to let him escape and allowed the demons to tear him to pieces.

Dalquis’ vision swam and his brain raced at speeds faster than he could keep up with. His heart seemed to pump way too hard. The ground shook with its pump. It did happened again and Dalquis’ entire body began to shake. An unstoppable rage filled his mind and body, taking away any memory or coherent thought he had ever possessed. Driven only by the rage of his losses, the devil took off towards the demons in flight. He touched down fifty yards from the swarm and with one surge of energy, not even fifty percent of his full strength, wiped out the entire herd of demons. This was the birth of the true demon inside of Dalquis.

Dalquis traveled aimlessly, one purpose only: Seek and destroy. He had transformed into his wolf form and had been unstoppable for a year until another demon showed up. One sniff and Dalquis knew this was a fight that he would enjoy to no bounds. The battle was long, but Dalquis prevailed. But he was going to die soon. He traveled until he saw a pregnant fox demon. He would take the child’s body. He detached his soul and latched himself into the child’s body. But he did not take control of the body. This unborn fox demon’s soul was too powerful and it ended up locking away Dalquis’ rabid soul. But when hit by a sudden surge of rage, a beast would awaken in this child, just at it had happened to Dalquis. It would be the birth of the Midnight Beast.

One might think that the Beast and Xaith are enemies, but the two actually get along quite well. Though the Beast knows nothing but to kill, it understands that Xaith is its life support, and should Xaith die, it will go with him. Knowing this, the Beast will take over Xaith’s body and transform to let Xaith heal. They may not actually talk to each other, but they do seem to have an internal understanding of one another and tend not to interfere. Slowly, though, as Xaith grows older, the Beast seems to be less and less hostile.

There is no connection between Dalquis and Xaith. Dalquis' mind is the only thing that is with Xaith. Dalquis is not the Midnight Beast, but his soul takes over the naive Beast's and he uses it for his own desires.

Should Xaith become the Beast on his own accord, he is not blood sick and his appearance is more majestic than frightening.

Appearance: The Beast stands at four feet and three inches, its entire mass of fur midnight blue save the tips of his ears and tail, which seem to have been dipped in black ink. The Beast’s teeth and claws are sharp enough to tear steel, titanium, and even diamond to pieces with great ease. In other words, don’t try using a sword against this thing. He acts not at all like a fox. If having to be compared to another animal, it would be more like a wolf due to Dalquis’ presence. When not hungry, the Beast will simply walk around aimlessly, sniff at nothing, look around at nothing, and even roll around in the dirt for no good reason other than to scratch its back. If anybody were to see it, it would look like a friendly, overgrown fox. But should the Beast see anyone, it immediately goes into high alert and will growl for a fair warning. But so much as a centimeter closer, the Beast will attack. The whites of its eyes gone black, and the color glowing bright red, most understand that they need to back off because this animal cannot be tamed.
