So you wanna try to do some cough syrup to trip? Well I would at least recommend staying safe about it. It is VERY easy to OD on this sort of stuff. But there is a very simple way to avoid that. I shall post something on it shortly. Also, if anyone wants any news on how this makes you feel, you can either ask me here, or PM me. I am always able to answer questions to help someone out. I mean, the Tylenol 3's should do the trick just fine, hey? sweatdrop (just kidding. mostly... my mom broke her finger and does have a T3 prescription at the moment, but she's been swallowing them like candy. *sniffle* No codeine for faolan! *mopes*)`Stigmata Also, for any information I may not have, there is always Erowids. Key thing to remember if you ever try this. The first time do NOT take more than 100 mg. Some people (like myself) are missing the enzyme that metabolizes DXM and can cause serious side effects if you were to take more.
Also stay away from triple Cs. The other stuff present in it are very dangerous at a tripping dose of DXM.

Well I myself have never had any problem with Triple C's.
It's actually one of my prefered choices for DXM Tripping.
But I guess that some people are
a little bit less tolerant to it than myself.
Though it really is more of a choice thing here.
Triple C's ((Corriseden (sp?) Caugh and Cold, for those of you that don't know what it is.)) and Robitussin ((aka: Robo)) are the better of the two if you ask me.
Though Delsum isn't too bad either.

Okay, let me pick your brains for a second. It might end up a moot point... well, here: Triaminic Night Time. Found a bottle, and it's such a wee little thing, absolutely adorable. XD Pseudophedrine hcl, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, chlorpheniramine maleate. Chemistry was fun, but not really my thing, so because I live in "the meth capital of the world" I obviously know what the first is for, but I'm unfamiliar with the other two.
And the other thing is that it's six years expired -- May '01 is the date. If it were only a few months, I'd shrug it off, but I don't know how theses things decompose, or what they decompose into. Or if. Hell, maybe it's better now... yeah, not likely. But if anyone's got any wisdom to impart, I'm the quintessential cat that curiosity is eventually going to do in. o_O;

I do want to say that I find it somewhat comical that you recomend Erowid for information when they themselves warn against Triple C.
Many DXM-containing products (such as Coricidin Cough and Cold) also contain other active ingredients which can be dangerous or fatal in high doses. (From main vault of DXM)
This is what causes the problems: Chlorpheniramine Maleate (High doses of Chlorpheniramine Maleate (CPM) can cause severe and life-threatening symptoms including seizures; shortness of breath or troubled breathing; weakness; loss of consciousness; severe dryness of mouth, nose, or throat; bleeding from skin, mouth, eyes, rectum, and v****a; and possibly death.) Problems arise around 24 mg and each CCC has 4 mg in it (as well as 30 mg of DXM which means if using a common dosage of 200 mg you are putting yourself in danger).
Other things to look for in any product you'd buy for a DXM trip and why to avoid.
Acetaminophen
High doses of Acetaminophen can cause serious liver damage and possibly death. Symptoms of overdose may include bloody, black, or tarry stool; bloody or cloudy urine; pain in lower back and/or side; sores, ulcers, or white spots on lips or in mouth; sore throat; or unusual bleeding or bruising.
Aspirin
Symptoms of overdose may include rapid breathing, difficulty swallowing, ringing in the ears or loss of hearing, bloody urine, diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, fever, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, and convulsions.
Guaifenesin
High doses of Guaifenesin can cause severe nausea and vomiting
Pseudoephedrine (Hydrochloride)
High doses of pseudoephedrine can cause irregular heartbeat, headaches, difficulty breathing, anxiety, and seizures. Though some people use pseudoephedrine recreationally, there is too much pseudoephedrine in these products to use them as a source for DXM.
Sorbitol
Sorbitol is a sugar substitute that is used in some "sugar-free" brands of cough syrup. High doses of Sorbitol (between 10 and 50 grams) can cause gastrointestinal distress from mild discomfort to severe diarrhea.

oh man, i used to drink cough syrup, sooo nasty, i cant even look at the stuff now.
what me and my friend used to do is we would drink the cough syrup, smoke a joint, then do whippits, then go backto school for art class. but one day i got so sick i passed out in class, one of my classmates woke me up saying i didnt look good, i went home and passed out in the tub for 3 hours gonk

I mean, I've had an adventure like that, but it was caused by a really high fever from a kidney infection, not anything I'd taken!
However, mother tells me that when I was young and I'd come down sick the doctor would prescribe codeine, and I'd tell the most amazing stories. Ah, the opium dreams of a five-year-old.

But I do know that if you take Sudafed PM and then don't sleep you hallucinate like crazy. It scared the s**t out of me the first time it happened because I wasn't expecting it AT ALL.
Same goes for Benadryl and I think most antihistamines.

But I do know that if you take Sudafed PM and then don't sleep you hallucinate like crazy. It scared the s**t out of me the first time it happened because I wasn't expecting it AT ALL. Same goes for Benadryl and I think most antihistamines. and also, yes Erowid = my source for all things drug-related Ah Benadryl; it's like Dautra, but in a pill! I once had an IV of that after an allergic reaction to a medication and I ended up having a 2 hour (at the time) coherent conversation with the wall. Yay for delirients?

But extremely high amounts OR steady, prolonged usage would cause definite damage, which is why the directions say to see a doctor if the pain persists. Jaundice ain't too fun. I went in for an amoxicillin reaction, and I assume that happened to me -- I think I was about five at the time, but I actually don't remember anything after walking into the kitchen and saying, "I feel funny," anyway... I'm told that it was less than five minutes after they'd given it to me, and I was "swelled up like a tick."

Yeah, when it happened to me I was in an airport and I think I had a cold and just didn't feel good. I checked my purse to see what I had with me (I carry a mini-advil bottle with me everywhere with assorted over-the-counter meds. in it) And I think all I had was Sudafed PM, so I decided that sleeping on the plane home wouldn't be so bad, so I took it. About 30 minutes later right after I had boarded the plane I was delirious, and of course couldn't fall asleep for whatever reason. My seat on the plane was right next to the window above the wing of the plane, and I definitely kept thinking I saw a little man dressed in blue wearing a police hat sitting on the edge of the wing. I think at one point I told him to "get down from there, we're gonna be taking off soon". Needless to say the lady next to me thought I was insane. Edit:Ohhhh man, I go into way to much detail when I tell stories. xD

On top of that I refuse to take codine (outside of my cough syrup), morphine, vicodine, or hydrocordone.

Oh man. I haven't used DXM in ages. Although my favorite was Robotussin pills. I can't drink the syrup....way, way to nasty for me.
From what I remember though, I don't even think I liked it all that much sweatdrop
