This just absolutely blows my mind. For starters, the plants were about 3-4 inches high!? That's it? That's like nothing. And $20,000 for bond!!?? Am I the only one who finds that absolutely insane? Another man in town being held on a hit and run --that killed somebody-- only has a bond $5k higher.
Are society's views on marijuana these days really so skewed that they view possession/growing/selling only *slightly* less worse than killing somebody?

MARIJUANA FOUND: More than 2,000 marijuana plants were found during a raid Thursday night of a home on East Kingman Avenue in Battle Creek. Sgt. Dan Latta of the Calhoun County Sheriff Department said deputies began investigating another reported crime three days ago and as the investigation progressed they obtained search warrants for homes on I Drive South in Newton Township, Second Street in Battle Creek and the East Kingman Avenue address. With help from the Battle Creek Emergency Response Team all three houses were entered about 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Latta said the plants found were three to four inches high. A warrant is being sought for a 27-year-old resident of the home who was not there when police arrived.

Ceresco man charged for delivery of marijuana
A Ceresco man, Matthew Woodard, 27, was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of delivery of marijuana.
The charges stem from raids Thursday by Calhoun County Sheriff Department deputies and Battle Creek police on three homes in Newton Township and on East Kingman Avenue and Second Avenue in Battle Creek.
Capt. Matt Saxton of the Sheriff Department said officers found 4,116 marijuana plants at the East Kingman Avenue home, which they said was Woodard's residence.
Woodard was ordered to appear for a preliminary examination in Calhoun County District Court on June 4. His bond was set at $20,000.
