Well, my friends and fellow guild members, we've been having a wonderful time, and I think we will continue to do so. I've been thinking a lot about the Veil, other guilds, about magic itself, and I've come to this conclusion:

I'm really bored.

Frankly, most of this seems like it's been done before, either successfully or not. So, I decided to have some fun with you guys, and feel free to help. I want to break things. Perceptions, conceptions, prejudices and prides, and most of all reality. So my HowTo's will be each seperate, fun, and quirky attempt to mess up the universe.

If you are on the ball, and can understand my title's b*****d Latin, then maybe you guessed my current goal. It's a fun one, and I think it's one I'd be suited to.

I want to be come a god. I know, I know, it sounds hard, but I think it can be done. (Hell, what can't?) Hercules did it, and if you don't think I can do 12 Great Labors, then remember Ganymede. He got to go to Olympus and be Zeus' cup bearer, with eternal life and beauty and what not, just so Zeus could get a little boy lovin' when he was lonely. Seems easier.

So, what do you think I should do to be a god? What are the job qualifications? Requirements? Mystic rituals? Someone I can appeal to? Somewhere to apply? I don't count on omni-knowledge, so unless you think I can get away with faking it, I can't be God with a capital G.

But, I think I've got a good start. Drop me a line here, and lets get to work, one broken idea at a time. How do I be a god?

Hmm....for a human soul to become a God, well first we must define what a "God" really is:

# deity: any supernatural being worshipped as controlling some part of the world or some aspect of life or who is the personification of a force
# a man of such superior qualities that he seems like a deity to other people; "he was a god among men"

Qualifications? Easy, be worshiped, control a part of the world or an aspect of life or be a personification of force itself.

Or a man who has reached a social status level to be revered as a "god among men" such as many people considered Aleister Crowley.

Another form of "gods among men" would be Avatars* which fit into both definitions of a god.

*From the Sanskrit for "passing down" or "passing over," an avatar (sometimes avatara) describes the descent to earth of a deity, or of the Deity, in material, usually humanly, form. Thus, a Teacher so labeled is believed to be a direct and conscious incarnation of the Divine, born without any karmic baggage, come to earth for a specific purpose, such as to establish a new spiritual path or way.

Not counting on omni-knowledge? =P In my opinion no Deity is almighty or all-knowing.

Where to apply? xD....lol, just be who you are, work on it, follow in the footsteps of former "Gods among men" and you may be seen as one one day.

No Mystic ritual with bestow upon you the power of a god xD....

Sounds good. I want to be one as soon as possible, though. I do count on the fact we might find some loophole if only because most sane human beings don't think to themselves, "I'd like to be a god," then actually try to do it.

There's a branch of Satanism that says that you're your own god or something akin to that, but I'm guessing that's not good enough for you. XD

Other than that, I can't think of any way that'd make you a god in the traditional sense. Maybe deciding on a concept and working magick related only to that concept would make you a god of said concept? I dunno. Your insane ideas are far beyond my comprehension, sir. XD

Hah! How interesting. I suppose another factor is what you'd like to accomplish as such a being of power. [BlkCat]'s a bit right on the whole thing requiring a bit more definition. Appealing to higher powers might pose a threat to your godhood later on, wanting retribution of some sort, I'd suppose. Logically, if I was on such a path as yours, I'd try to gain as much psychic/magickal strength and versatility as I could. What areas of power that would be, like I said, would once again refer to what kind of god you'd like to be. That's a bit like what Mitsh said.

Well, good luck on it all, anyways, haha...

By technicality, the first step in becoming anything above mortal is not wanting it and not un-wanting it? Buddha became all holy and what not because he was humble, Jesus became what he was by being semi-humble, and most of the other holy guys were humble and passive... though... the greek gods seem quite a bit different confused ...

Don't know, can't help ya...

That seems like a solid start, the power thing. I wouldn't worry too much about help, because there usually is a top god anyway, like Zeus, and I don't think I could become the god. But the problem about the power thing, I think, is that even the strongest mortals usually seem to get their asses handed to them by even weak gods, and I don't think it's just a case of being really strong. It seems a qualitative difference, and I want to know what that is.

Well, maybe the 2020's. I'm not Grandfather God yet. ... ... I do play a little golf, though.

Hmm...I was thinking about this after we had that one conversation. I figure if, say, you want to be the god of...fire. All you'd really have to do is become an insanely good pyrokinetic, then run around setting things ablaze and yelling, "I am [pick a powerful-sounding name for yourself, preferably a cacophonous one]! I am the god of fire! Fear me and my infinite wrath!" Sure, there'd be some people who would try to commit you and whatnot, but they'd be simple to get rid of. Just like...set their toes on fire or something. That should fix 'em.

Then once you've got them all fearing you, that's when you can become a benevolent god. Just be like, "Ok guys, I was just kidding. I'm still a god, but I'm a nice one. It's ok, sir, I'll buy you some new toes."

Becoming an elemental god wouldn't be that difficult. And if you couldn't gain your own immortality, you could be comforted in the fact that once the little people develop the technology to make people immortal, you'd be the first recipient.

Congratulations! You're a god.

This is starting to sound cool. I think my basic plan is to become a god of something, get some power, and have some followers. I don't think I want to do the get power untill people believe I am a god, because any old lame-a** dictator can do that. (Xerxes, anyone?) But what I'd think of as real gods can play as people without having to convince everyone they are; they're confident in their diety, so to speak.

But, first things first, I need a good name, sphere of influence, and a few followers as well. I need some suggestions for the first two, and the last, any volunteers? If you get in on the ground floor and this takes off, you'll be sitting pretty on the theological triangle.
