Hi everyone! Me and my family are going to the Dominican Republic in July for a Mission Trip. This will be my first one so I don't know what to expect. Any stories and/or helpful hints would be most appreciated.
Also if you could prey for our success, that would be cool too.
Thanks!

haha!! Well, I don't know what you will expect going to the Dominican, but I went down to Hattiesberg Mississippi to do mission work after Hurricaine Katrina... It was only a week but it was SOO much fun. there were times when we were driving down the road and looking at the destruction and I wanted to cry, but other times where we were just rocking it out with Jesus.... It was really fun. You get really close with the people your working with too.....

One thing I do suggest, we really didn't get to work much with the PEOPLE because they were long evacuated, so I suggest that you do your best to connect yourself by really talking to the people of the culture around you. You can't shine with christ unless they really see you through your words and actions. Don't be shy, most are ready and willing to talk and share stories with you. So I have only this advice: GET CONNECTED. wink
