What we don't want, of course, is to be noticed in a negative way -- spamming peoples' inboxes or in forums that don't allow it is grounds for being flogged with a wet noodle here, and could also get you disciplined (read: suspended, banned) by Gaia.
Banners in your sig or profile is a very good method of passive recruitng. Surfing the forums and looking for cannabis sorts of topics to jump into is great, but keep in mind that it's more polite (and convincing, for that matter) to participate in the topic before and after dropping the link.To start things off, I've made some minibanners for guild use. You may hotlink these, but you are usually better off saving them and uploading them to your own hosting service -- Photobucket is generally the most reliable free host, though the URLs it churns out are on the long side; ImageShack URLs are a little shorter, but the site's a little less user-friendly. Tinypic gives you short URLs, great for a signature with a character limit, but the site tends to be blacklisted on content filters, meaning people might not see the image at all, and the servers don't actually keep the images indefinitely.  400 x 40 px

Well there's a new drug guild that I'm in. However, they are trying to deal more with people who use more than marijuana to be more of a full out guild.
It's also preaching responsibility which is good. I can give you the link for that if you want to affiliate it (mind you, they tried to invite you faolan with my suggesting, but you don't accept guild invites).

Aye, I just hopped over to take a gander; I don't see a problem with affiliating -- I'm obviously more the "here's the bloody research results, take it from there" sort; I can hold someone's hand and acquaint them with the pitfalls, give pointers... for a few minutes or so! o_O* I mean, the two guilds seem to have slightly different approaches and aims, but we'd probably stand a good chance of sharing each other's member bases. ^^

Seriously psychedelic (which is great!)... Really can't read the text well, though. Is there any way you can bring it out a little?
And it is rather big for a link grapic, but I prefer small buttons anyway -- I've seen people using some huge graphics. Can you reduce the file size any, though?

and may be making a non gaia site as well...
would be pleased to have your guild as an affiliate.
