I've finished my costume that I'll be wearing to PortCon Maine! I'm Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle. Here's the only picture I've got yet, taken by my cell phone.

I've only seen two of Miyazaki's films (Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke). Although, I've heard good things about Howl's Moving Castle, so I'll probably try and rent it somewhere sometime, eventually.

surprised well Lu's being lazy so i get to deliver the good news
She entered the costume into the craftsmanship judging, where they evaluate the costume based on quality, accuracy, etc. It was entered into the "journeyman" category because Lu doesn't yet have enough awards to qualify for "expert."
So not only was she bumped up to "expert" by the judges because they thought her costume was expert-level, but she then won the prize for "best expert category."

She also sung the end theme to Howl's Moving Castle during the masquerade for which she was awarded "Best Female"
