Hey guys, I'm trying to make a good cosplay. I'm making a soldier Uniform, with a Zaku shield, and shoulder spikes. There is one problem... how do I make the spikes...? If anyone has any suggestions, I'm here to listen. (except paper mashe)

You're trying to make a Zaku costume? To make the spike shoulder I suggest using styrofoam and cutting it into the shape of spikes.

I'd say wood or plastic, either one is fairly easy to shape with a peice of sandpaper.

If you want durability wood or plastic if you want something quick use Styrofoam

well while we're on the subject, for a convention next year I want to go as Char Aznable, but I have no Idea how to make the mask/helmet.

That's a good question... I was thinking of a soldier's helmet, but I gave up on the idea.

If you have the money, museum replicas based in atlanta georgia makes some nifty helms, some based on german wwII helmets. Not the most practical idea...but they're nifty.

TheIllustriousBlueJay well while we're on the subject, for a convention next year I want to go as Char Aznable, but I have no Idea how to make the mask/helmet. @all: Have you guys thought of purchasing actual cosplay items..? sweatdrop I'm sure you can find people who have all this stuff on the internet.
