To start things off, I suppose I'll explain how Unit 97 will operate in this guild. First of all, take note that all members of 97 are NPCs, and can be played by anyone in the guild at any time except for Vali. Of the seven, four are not to be killed as they have stories of their own in relation to specific characters already in TS. Those four are Vali, Mani, Diana, and Ravana. However this does not mean you cannot fight them, it simply means your character cannot kill them. Either they retreat (which isn't likely to be due to an a** whooping) or you do (or die).

These NPCs will not just appear wherever you want. All except Ravana will take no direct interest in any of the guild members, meaning your character initiates any fighting that takes place. Until they are approached, they will not, unless orchestrated by myself, move away from their current locations. In other words, if you want to fight them, go to them. Their locations are as follows.

Vali: won't be showing up anywhere
Mani: Darkwood Forest
Jagan: Waterfall Valley Arena (Western Jungle Field)
Ravana: Wherever User/Jade see fit
Diana: Marshland Arena (Western Jungle Field)
Luke: Eastern Mountain Range
Raion: Canopy Skyscrape Arena (Western Jungle Field)

Most times you will not see them enter CO unless they have the express purpose of hunting me down in which case they are likely to come collectively and not alone. However, if you desire, they can chase you down to CO, but after the fight they will return to the locations designated.

You do not have to eventually kill these characters. Though the story begins this summer, I intend for Keno to be involved with another story that takes slight precedence this season and the last fight will likely occur either over Christmas or some time into next year. The more characters you leave alive, the more fun you can have with them.

On that note, be rational about this. Their data is coming soon, but acknowledge that I did in fact engineer these characters to be overall superior to all characters except Sir Aaron. Use wit and cunning as befits you, but do not expect much anything you do to cause massive harm to them, at least for the summer.

Okay so recap in case you don't want to read all of that or got confused:
1) Anyone can roleplay a member(s) of Unit 97 except for Vali.
2) Vali, Mani, Ravana, and Diana cannot be killed except by sepcified guild members, but they are open to attack from anyone.
3) All NPCs must be approached if you desire to fight them, even if your character is just wandering around by chance. Only Ravana will go out of his way to approach User and Jade.
4) No NPC strays away from the locations designated above, so any fight against them must take place in the corresponding thread, or at lease being there.
5) The characters don't have to be killed by any member of the guild, and none should be killed by the end of summer unless previously specified at which point it's up to the member involved. As things stand now, most all characters are too weak to seriously or permanently harm.

Anything you think needs specifying or to be included here, feel free to either ask in the thread or PM me.

Addition: I forgot to mention, none of the data in this thread is initially an IC explanation to anything. The information is provided so you know how to RP as each character and understand some of their habits in combat and society. I don't want to see anyone RPing as though they know this information without explaining how they gathered such information.

Test Subject: Mani

Mani has proven to be an incredible child. There were concerns about performing the procedure so early, but to date there has been nothing but positive feedback and growth in his development. The sensitivity of his nose and ears are slightly more acute than was calculatd and has matured without fail. He's displayed a high amount of stamina in all fields requiring physical exertion, particularly running. Such a phenomenal amount of endurance at such an age is more than we could have hoped for and beyond our expectations. About a year ago he decided he would engage in speed exercises. Wanting to observe the outcome, we readily consented and as we thought he has excelled yet again. To date he has been able to run for an hour at a velocity of Mach 2250 (1,691,190 mph). This still pales in comparison to Jagan, but the rapid growth leads us to believe he is capable of becoming the swiftest among the party in a matter of only two more years.

His power too is extraordinarily high, often times irritating Ravana in combat exercises. Not only will he never stay down, but he's asserted himself as being just as skilled and deadly a fighter as the season Saiya-jin. Despite this though, both usually emerge from such exercises laughing, only for Ravana to become enraged again during the next bout. For these reasons, we have reduced the frequency of Mani-Ravana rounds.

The child displays awkward behavior when went to hunt. For our experiments we use criminals given multiple death sentences and release them into a controlled environment. Individually or collectively, the unit will obediently pursues as ordered and leaves any other undisturbed unless a futile resistance emerges. Thus far anyone ordered to be left alive has been subdued without severe harm. In such scenarios Mani will usually wait until he receives further instruction from the rest of the unit. When sent on his own however, he toys with his opponents and usually resorts to pawing and biting at the criminals. There is also the nasty habit of refusing to let go once he's gotten a firm grip between his teeth. Several times he has returned literally carrying the target in his mouth, refusing to let go until ordered to do so from a superior, usually myself, Vali, or a commanding officer. These same victims usually return with minor scratches and at least one wounded leg.

On his killing missions, Mani often takes much longer, displaying a feint unwillingness to harm the targets by issuing a volley of swift yet overall harmless attacks that do little more than phase the prey. After they become accustomed to this, he will usually switch styles last minute and rip out their throats with his teeth or remove an entire limb before suffocating them. Rumors have circulated that Mani is indeed the most powerful member of Unit 97, however according to all recorded data, we are not yet certain of the accuracy of this statement.

Test Subject: Jagan

Jagan has been nothing more than a miraculous addition to Unit 97. The composition of his body was supposed to give his limbs great strength, and acute hearing and smelling capabilities. However he was expected to be much slower to accommodate his size. This hasn't turned out to be the case. In fact, he should be slower than Mani rather than the other way around, but from day one he has taken speed training to supplement the mandatory strength and endurance exercises we have assigned him. His maximum velocity has been most recently clocked at Mach 4400 (3,307,216 mph), and despite reassurance that he could give this training, he has insisted that he be allowed to improve further. Coupled with his great strength and large frame, he's practically unstoppable by any force we throw at him.

He uses his build to his advantage and generally excels at absorbing impact without consequence. Raion has been known to leave him with a few bruises, usually in the aftermath of one of her temper tantrums. Ravana has tried to out muscle him, but both have remained virtually even since the contest began. There have been a few cases in which Diana has poisoned him more severely than she should have, but only in such cases has he ever been incapacitated.

On solo missions, he generally renders any target he is to capture immovable, usually simply through sheer force. As they are unable to escape his grasp, he may even carry a squirming criminal back into the base. When it comes to killing though, he wastes little effort in being elegant and prefers a direct assault, usually never exceeding a single strike, to completely crush whatever may be in his way. In such cases, the head and chest tend to be his favorite locations on the human body. Occasionally he'll be a big arrogant and break his victims' legs and watch them try pathetically to escape before taking them out of their misery.

Most phenomenal though is the fact that he can make himself almost completely untouchable at will. Why he went to such lengths is not understood since his natural build prevents most anything from harming him anyway. It seems a trifle matter to most and so little has been asked of him about the topic.

Test Subject: Ravana

Ravana was a separate project of his own. Not being from this planet, we were initially unsure as to how to go about the procedure with him. In the end he refused any persuasion to undergo the process anyway so we took an alternative route. After studying what we could of his species, we offered to make him more powerful by maximizing his abilities without risk to his lifespan. Fortunately for our sakes it was a success and the result was a greater capacity for energy growth as well as optimal motor capability. He seems pleased with the work done on him, if not a bit too proud. It seems his competitive spirit grew along with his power, making him an occasional headache to the ladies who must endure his proud talks of his alien heritage. The men pay him no mind and it's obvious to us that were it not for the fact that the group stands on level ground, this could lead to a violent catastrophe the lab is not prepared for.

Ravana likes to leave himself well rounded, but takes pride in strength more than anything else. He constantly wrestles with Jagan and until six months ago Mani to keep himself at the top, but he has yet to actually overcome either of them, merely ending most fights in a draw, which he counts as a personal loss. However, regardless of his physical standing, he has by far the most amount of energy stored for any battle. It is extremely rare to actually see him transform, but when he does, Jagan cannot hope to contend as equally as he desires. Due to Mani's endurance and spontaneity though, he is quite humble about his ability to become instantly more powerful than the others.

A rare exception however is when he transforms into a massive ape. According to research, the combination of keeping his tail intact and staring at the full moon gives him an exponentially superior amount of power that apparently can only be stored inside this colossal frame. Like Jagan, it was predicted he'd be a great deal slower in this state, but quite the contrary he has instead proven to be just as quick and agile as if he were human sized. Though perhaps only adding fuel to the fire, I thought it best were we to allow such a trait to become a voluntary ability should the need ever arise in absence of a full moon and as a result, through surgery and a bit of hypnosis, which I personally find unorthodox, have succeeded in allowing him to will into the transformation day or night and even override the direct effect of the moonlight.

He's a surprisingly efficient fighter and hunter. Games are not to his liking in the least, at least not with humans, who he sees as too inferior and degrading a race to show mercy on. When he is sent to kill, he is back withing a matter of a few minutes or quicker if he can track his victim down faster. Usually he will follow an unnatural or generally vague human scent so we have recently saturated the controlled environment with various human body odors, most belonging to personnel that work here or corpses of other targets not yet cremated. Even with this disadvantage, he returns quickly usually with a body that has suffered one crippling wound and a fatal one and but occasionally on a good day with an instant corpse with some sort of spinal or cranial damage.

When the objective is to return a convict however, it's usually a bloodier show. Disfigurement, broken bones, collapsed lungs, brain damage, and complete amputation are his methods not only of immobilizing them, but of silencing as he hates the sound of their screaming on the way back. In every such situation he has returned with a sour expression on his face and usually snaps at anyone, even superiors, who dares compliment him on his performance.

Test Subject: Diana

It is most accurate to say that among our subjects, Diana has undergone the most extreme base metapmorphosis. Her eyes themselves have improved in their ability to focus and has increased her vision to be much better than it was before the procedure, when she had to use corrective lenses. After careful analysis, we have found that her external ears have serve no real purpose and that inside her head, directly behind her ears are the very same quadrate one would find in snakes. The hertz range to which she is most sensitive has then fallen to be between 50 and 10000 as opposed to 16 and 20000. This does not seem to be that severe an issue though and tests have shown she can still higher and lower sounds, but with less success. Her sense of smell has become attached to her ability to taste, as her tongue has transformed to be sensitive to air particles, but since it is not forked, she cannot immediately tell in which direction something is coming or going. Oddly enough, and most mysterious about her, is the fact that her bone can be softened like tissue or hardened like ordinary marrow at her own will. How this has come about is beyond any of us as no black mamba is known to be able to do anything remotely familiar.

Quick by human standards, Diana is generally slow compared to the other subjects, though when fleeing she gains a substantial increase in this area, which we believe to be a defense mechanism. Despite the fact that she moves slowly, she does strike effectively and with great precision even in split second circumstances, as when she is paired off against Jagan, Ravana, or Mani. She has displayed feats of strength similar to Mani's, but often does not attack with full force, but rather puts more pressure on victims she has in her grip, either crushing them, or causing a collapse in breathing muscles.

Unfortunately, she has become more diurnal than we would have desired and becomes steadily more useless as night approaches and usually removes herself from highly active situations and goes somewhere to rest, though we haven't figured out where yet. To her credit she is often first to rise.

The venom that she produces is as potent as we suspected it might, be and despite how quickly it can kill, she usually dilutes it with her own saliva before injecting it into her victims, causing them severe paralysis and an unfortunately slower death than were they bitten by an actual mamba. This works in their favor however if they are able to receive treatment.

Because she is most effective at using this venom, she is more prone to use it as night approaches or when she's in a foul mood. Many victims, whether they were to be returned dead or alive, often have traces of venom in their system, though occasionally she'll deliver a suffocated corpse and on worse days pieces of human. We have monitored her behavior more diligently lately in hopes of reducing the days she will bring some unheard of human remain. Performing autopsies on them proves most useless at that point anyway.

Test Subject: Luke

Luke was intended to be a basic control specimen who would have received the same operation as Ravana. His growth would then be compared to Vali, Mani, Diana, Raion, and Jagan to see which method would produce the most desired results. In the end, we decided to upgrade his body to effectively make him super human. Though not exactly a biological masterpiece like my other work, he has served to demonstrate that humans can receive and maintain without negative consequence some technological enhancements to their body.

Unfortunately, Luke only seems to keep himself on par with his colleagues, and never really strives to overcome them. That is to say, we can tell if there is any desire to become superior or not so whether or not a human with technological is a better choice over any one of the other subjects. What is known is that he can at least stand on par against them, and for now we will have to be content with that.

Luke puts an unnecessary amount of time into his appearance, but doesn't hesitate to get himself messy - at the expense of his victim no less. He prefers to do things just because they'll be done and he can be left alone. Therefore his performance has been relatively static and no real improvements have been documented. There have been test on the nano machinery in his body and it has proven thus far to repair or rebuild anything that has been destroyed or removed. We've yet to remove an entire limb, but we did rip off his left ring finger, which grew back in a matter of three hours. We assume the same result would take place, but we'd rather only find out in the worst case scenario.

His infrared installations have also proven to operate efficiently and has not yet needed any maintenance, though we still run routine checks on him to be sure everything is remaining optimal.

Among his peers, it seems the only member who has any real distaste for him is Ravana, who ridicules him for his laziness. My fellow researchers have expressed the same sentiments, but only for research purposes. The ladies do not seem to be intrigued by him at all, and he does not seem to care.

Therefore, though Luke is operating optimally, what he's completely capable of is still beyond of. There are many calculations and predictions, but to date, his lack of enthusiasm has only hindered our research.

Test Subject: Raion

The subject Raion behaves more as a human than as a lion. there is some relief of this as lions generally are inactive for most of the day. However, the great strength and physical prowess of the big cat is not alien to her. Her ears are a bit rounder than before and have risen higher on her head, hiding in her hair. That, along with her feline eyes seem to be the only external signs of the operation's success.

She has displayed large amounts of strength, and even excellent defense potential, but she lacks the stamina needed to fare well against Ravana or Mani. Occasionally Luke will take her on out of sport, but he has yet to out-muscle her. She focuses a lot on her endurance and has tried to increase it, but it's a steady and not very rapid process for her. Supposedly she would have been able to beat Mani in a race had she not tired out, but this was off the record and she refuses to be timed officially, to which we honestly can't do anything about.

When she is sent to capture a target, she usually attempts to get close before beginning her assault. She has said she would prefer long distance, but it is impractical because of the terrain. Either there is too much cover, or not enough. Unsure of what to make of this, the data has been recorded, but otherwise ignored. However, to either end she does an excellent job at retrieving and delivering them intact, usually unharmed when brought back alive. The corpses usually suffer strangulation or head trauma. Though she, like Diana, displays a bit of laziness, she goes to lengths, unlike Luke, to improve herself.

As records stand, the most dangerous thing about Raion is her competitive spirit, which is the only aspect of her being which can push her to overcome the stigma of her stamina and actually optimize her potential. It is usually best not to over stimulate her for these purposes and she'll display herself as an alpha in a heartbeat if ordered to back away from any fight regardless of her chances of survival.

Test Subject: Vali

Our information on Vali has recently been sent away for review and we have not yet been able to make duplicate documents. We speculate that after the X-0-0 mission, Vali will be used for field missions in actual military conflict. In case the data is not returned to me, I am currently in the process of compiling a new file that, if nothing else, will record his progress and growth from today onward.

In the Northern American Rockies, the Unit sat about together, each in a general circle formation. Ravana was pacing and Jagan was standing, but everyone else was down. Each looked about as bored as a five year old with a dry piece of bread and water for lunch. Vali's eyes slowly moved between each member patiently, sensing their irritation with him. The most important question of course was 'why did they not kill him yesterday?' He didn't want to answer for it wasn't really their business. They could have if they really wanted to, as sour as it may have made him. The fact that they didn't meant they had reasons to wait as well.

"So what do we know about his allies?"

"They're all slow so there's no need to talk about it further. All I have to do is move in, apprehend the target and escape with him. Once he's alone he's done for." Jagan was clearly unimpressed. They were of course unique, but nothing he couldn't handle, and that he was confident about.

"Wait!" Mani seemed almost to jump out of his skin with excitement before he could get the word out. "There was one guy, the one who tried to catch Diana. He was really fast actually. I was only able to slow him down because I was nearby. He might be able to keep up with you if he goes full power." Clearly delighted at the prospect of someone being able to out run the juggernaut, Mani smiled as he imagined what fun it would be to race someone like that.

Jagan was not nearly convinces, but he was intrigued. The guy had caught up to Diana swiftly, but he summed it up to his using some sort of teleportation technique similar to the Shunkan Idou.

"If he's as fast as you say he is, maybe I'll pay him a visit. I could use a could running mate since you're not up to par yet little one." He laughed together with his mini rival, head flying back as his voice chased the heavens.

Diana was busy licking her lips, as though lost in thought for a moment. Her head slowly rose to catch Vali's eyes upon her. Oh how his gaze made her blood rush. If only he could show a bit of interest in a woman from time to time. Flustered at the thought she cleared her throat to regain focus.

"Well we know for sure there are at least two more like Ravana in the club..."

"Three!"

She glared at her Saiya-jin accomplice, insulted that he interrupted her so rudely. It was his nature, but it wasn't something she generall stood for.

"Three...anyway none of them appear to be worth the clothes on their back. The one I dealt with is very close to KenoTao I do believe. She raced at me blindly and would have paid the price were it not for some friend of hers coming up behind me." She looked a bit put off that she lost her prey so easily, but what of it. There was always another chance later.

"The female should be dealt with cautiously. Her emotional output might lead to a fatal wound even to us if we underestimate the depth of her relationship to the target. However the other one, with the purple hair...he's a psychic as well as a fighter, though not too good performing as either. He was able to place a barrier around himself, KenoTao, and defend against a mental assault well enough, but his capacity is limited and should any one of us go one on one with him, our power to his would be like a bullet train versus a Miata."

"Then beat him at his own game next time Vali!" Ravana stepped up to the calm natured rugged leader of the group, clearly frustrated. "That boy is nothing but a filthy hybrid with sub par combat skills. Destroy him at what he's good at and let him writhe with agony before he dies. He doesn't deserve the mercy of a swift death with such lackluster skills.

"At least he fought. You were so busy being critical you just stood around for most of the fight, not even getting your knuckles dirty." Raion scoffed at him as her eyes darted away, a harsh insult that practically suggested he wasn't even worth looking at right now while he was being addressed.

"Excuse me woman? I don't remember seeing you or Luke out there for too long either. You did your job and that was all. How dare you criticize me for doing the same?" Of all the members of his Unit, Luke pissed him off the most, usually standing around as though he has all the free time in the world. Raion on the other hand always had something to say to him about his own performance and it was never a compliment.

"Since you're so disappointed with my methods, I'll just go an kill him myself!"

"Fine! See if I care. You probably won't even get past the front door anyway." And before she could even finish this, Ravana had left. She sighed, realizing it was probably not the best thing to have kept picking on him. So what though? Ravana could handle any one of them there if he was truly that bold.

"What about that one guy. He was some sort of demon. He's not that strong but his defense will make things difficult if he gets involved again."

"Mani would be a better match for him. He's not really all that fast, nor does he seem to have a lot of strength, but he did display some ability with electricity. He defends himself with two objects that set up a sort of shield, but in neither instance did I notice him being mobile in the process. Unlike your shockwave, his defense gives you time to get in close. Exploit that."

"There were others there, trying to keep themselves incognito, but I guess we wouldn't know about them would we. The most important question is 'what do we know about KenoTao?' He's our objective but we've yet to see him actually do anything."

"He's slow.

"He's weak.

"Very weak."

"He's a lot like me. Don't underestimate him. He might have gone down, but he wasn't out and I'd be surprised if Diana's bite actually pierced his flesh. He was trying to watch us, and though I doubt he learned much, his friends who dealt with us will likely consult him before long." The six sat silently, Luke was off in his own world anyway; someone would bring him up to date.

"Do as you will. In about a month we'll regroup and plan our next move. Learn what you can however you wish, but don't do anything stupid..."
