Inside The Addictive Arcades of Japan

After you're done reading that, please give me your thoughts on the Japanese arcade scene, and the scene in general. Should this level of arcade be played nationwide? What of the youth that partake in these games? Do you have any fond memories of arcades?

I went to quite a few arcades when I was in living in Japan, I found that they weren't THAT much more awesome than the arcades in my home city, and that most of the time they were primarily filled with pachinko and other gambling type games. I used to like playing the Mahjong machines the most.

The purikura and virtual games sound fun(horseracing), but i feel sorry for the lonely tetris machine. I know someone who'd play it. ^^
The thing that irks me is the smoke...do grown-ups go to the arcades often? or are teens and kids smoking...?

some teens smoke but interestingly live longer than teens smoking here. That's because they eat a lot of seafoods. I heard that from this boring show
