Lumiere was born in the world of Alfheim, the world of light elves. The world of their oppisties, the dark elves, was called Svartalfheim. The dark elves weren't necissarily evil, it just meant that their appearence was quite different from their counterparts, for instance they took on a darker skin-tone and things like that. Their two worlds were connected though, which allowed the elves to mingle as they wished. Though that may not have been a good thing based on their society's rules. Because marriage between the two, 'sub-species' if you will, was frowned upon. Lumiere's parents had been of both worlds. They had had a forbidden relationship.
When Lumiere was born, her skin was light, but she had wings, dark-colored wings at that. She would be shunned by others, and had no choice to be raised in Svartheim, which was at least a little more expecting of elves like Lumiere.
Her mother had come to live with her father as soon as she found out she as pregnant. Lumiere would grow up in her Father's home Nightshade Manor.
She kept mostly to herself, reading books about history and magic. One day she ventured outside, and took a walk. But she was attacked by a dark elf who was racist against her kind. Before this elf had a chance to inflict damage on her, Lumiere was absorbed in a warm light and reappeared in Telythia Hall in Asgard. She had been summoned by Frigg....to change the world?
