Haruko entered the library, headed for the research section. But not, of course, without flashing the librarian as rascal's smile. He'd learned early on to get in good with authority figures. And his own personal appreciation of women aside, he rather liked the old lady. She didn't scowl at him nearly as often as many her age. She said she liked his spunk. He thought she just liked that he smiled at her so often. Still, an ally was an ally. So he paused to chat with her for just a moment before turning back to the business at hand. He wanted to do some reading on chakra. His own supply was a little less than optimal. And he was going to do what he could to remedy that. And -- as his mother had reminded him when he'd asked -- the best place to look for information was the library. He scanned the shelves lazily, looking for books specifically on chakra. The subjects were varied, but finally he managed to spot one with a promising title. Pulling it out, he glanced at the cover. It read The Cornerstone of Jutsus: Chakra. It would be a good place to start.

Choosing a likely looking chair, Haruko settled in to read the book. He was still feeling a bit weak from his sea nettle sting earlier and had decided to take it easy for the rest of the day. That meant no serious training. Not wanting to give up so soon, he'd turned to reading. However, at this point, he wasn't sure how much he was going to learn from just reading a book. Opening the first page, Haruko swiftly learned about chakra. According to the authors of the book, it came from two different places. First, it came from the body energy inherent in the trillions of cells. He nodded. That made sense. Chakra was closely tied to energy. The more of it you used, the weaker you felt. Indeed, that description would explain a lot about the nature of things that he'd seen done with chakra.

[I don't trust this sudden run of good luck... ninja ]
Reading swiftly onwards, Haruko discovered the second source of chakra. Apparently, it also came from the mental & spiritual energy gained from exercise and experience. He blinked. Really? Chakra increased with exercise and experience? He thought about that for a moment. Well...it would explain how more experienced shinobi seemed to have limitless supplies of chakra. And it tied back into chakra being a form of your body's energy. If you conditioned yourself, then you would naturally have more energy than someone who hadn't trained at all. Similar to stamina and the like. Haruko laughed softly to himself. It was no wonder his chakra supply was so small! He hadn't conditioned it at all.

The next chapter was about how chakra flowed through the body. The book compared chakra to the flow of water. There were certain points on the body that acted as streams. In this way, chakra flowed throughout the entire body if uninterrupted. And like a stream that has been blocked by a large rock, trauma to these body points would stop the flow of chakra. Essentially, this would make it impossible to use jutsu. The book went on to explain that concentrating chakra into a specific area of the body was a little like building a mental dam in order to increase the amount of chakra in a specific 'stream'. Haruko nodded to himself, amazed. This actually made a lot of sense.

In the next chapter, Haruko got a little confused. The book state dthat some considered chakra to be a gradation of consciousness, and states of the soul, and 'proving' the existence of chakras is asking to 'prove' the existence of the thought process. They believed that a mystic deals with these metaphysical concepts as a model for their internal and external experience, and when talking about 'energy centres', they are generally talking about subtle electromagnetic forces, which connect to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies. He blinked. That made no sense at all. Still...the book had been right so far...

Deciding to re-read the information a second time, Haruko tried to go slower and think about what the book was trying to say. Not being big on reading in general, this was a little difficult for him. After several minutes of reading and re-reading that chapter, a light bulb went off in his head. "Oh..." he breathed. "I think I get it." The scholars talked about in the book were simply saying that it was impossible to prove that chakra existed in a scientific way. There was only the results of what chakra could do that they had to go from. He shook his head in consternation. Books tended to say stuff in the most complicated manner ever rather than just saying it right out.

Nodding in understanding, Haruko went on to the last chapter in the book. To his delight, it was an intricate description of an exercise that could be used to increase one's chakra over time. The author made sure to stress that this could be difficult since overexertion of the chakra tended to make the user pass out. But Haruko ignored the vague warnings. Here was something he could use! He intended to make use of this exercise as soon as possible. Elated, he returned the book to its shelf. He was so happy that he even winked at the little librarian as he went out the door. Nothing could spoil his good mood now. Not even the events of earlier in the day.

Kumari appeared in front of the library, gazing up towards the massive entrance, looking into its depths. He walked slowly and deliberately up towards the doors, opening them quietly as he slipped in, taking in the scenery he was now presented with.
"This place is... a lot bigger than I imagined. I have actually never been here."
He paced up and down the massive aisles, until he was hopelessly lost. Luckily, he managed to find a directory, and eventually made his way towards the complete opposite end of the store, where a vast display of filing cabinets labeled "Business Directory" were situated. He opened the closest one he saw, that was labeled "architecture/engineering" and began to peer through its contents.

Filing through the documents, Kumari was starting to get a little annoyed. They were so disorganized that it was nearly impossible to tell what was what. After five more minutes, he noticed something in the back of the cabinet. Pulling it out, he soon realizes that it is branded with the words "building contractors." He opened it hurriedly, pulling out the first document and scanning the page with interest.
"Matsahiro Hayate... Kirikagure born building contractor. Looks like I've hit the jackpot."
He shut the cabinet door, grasping the paper in one hand. He looked through the directory again until he found a telephone booth, hurrying into it and shutting the door behind him. Looking around suspiciously, he pushed a few coins into it and dialed the number on the sheet.
After a long ringtone, a baritone voice answered him suddenly.
"Matsahiro Hayate, building contractor, you got plans, I can make 'em happen, how can I assist you?"
Kumari immediately told him Mistress' harsh demands, and also reminded him of the... financial... benefits that would come with it.
"I... I just don't know. I mean, if she's looking towards me, and I screw up, it's the last thing I'll ever do."
"Look sir, you're being paid handsomely to do this, and besides... if you can't do something you've been doing excellently for years under slight pressure, then maybe you should find a new profession."
There was a long pause, and then Hayate cleared his throat roughly, which turned to a hoarse sneeze.
"Gah... sorry. Well kid, I think you have yourself a contractor."
Kumari thanked him graciously and told him to await further orders. Leaving the phone stand, he made his way back towards Mistress' office.

Mizu approached the pristine building, known as the Kirigakure Library, and took a moment to gape at its stature before finally entering. As she entered she couldn’t help but take another moment or two to stare in awe. Once she was able to tear her eyes away from the details of the building Mizu began to approach the librarian, before she remembered she was never much help in the past, and Mizu doubted much had changed now. Other then the current book she must be lost in. Looking around to find the nearest seat Mizu went to it and decided to wait for the rest of her team. “I never know were to start.” Mizu quietly mumbled.

[Enter- Rhiko]
Hasty footsteps fell and echoed off the walls of the library as Rhiko made his way in. He paid little attention to the details, thought he did apreciate them. He had been to the library offen, and was quite used to it. The messenger bag at his side, filled with books was proof enough to his constant attendance. The librarian gave a small smile to Rhiko as he entered, and he smiled back. He looked over at Mizu, and waved her to follow, obeying the rules to stay quiet.
He quickly made his way to one of his favorite sections of the library... this section was decorated with well tended plantlife, furnished with couches and chairs, lit high above by a glass, dome shaped roof. Along with the style of this section, being flora oriented, there were plenty of specially laid books set out for such reserch. He made his way to the small bookshelve specific to the subject of plants, and he pulled out two, almost excyclopidia sized books on plants.
Laying both on the table, he took one for himself, and left the other for Mizu. then, reaching into his bag, he placed the plant on the table as well, for referancing. "Now... what and where are you, Mr. Plant?" he said in a serious tone, but joking manner, sitting back in a chair, prepairing for a long search.

This place is amazing... The compound library was big, but this place was...immense. Well, as expected, since this library was managed by Kiri directly. Managed by Kiri... A frown now carved his lips. Does this mean Mistress had a chance to censor books...? After all, the compound itself was raided shortly after the clan's attempted escape came to light... The only reason why many of the volumes and artifacts survived was because remaining clan members pitched in to hide the precious forbidden books, stored them away in the basements and hid the artifacts in the caverns.
Right. He was supposed to be looking for something along the lines of old shinobi documentaries, right...? Strange Kiri had chosen to release old documentaries to the archives. Well...it was true classified information was removed, but why do you want to put in a publicly available place...perhaps for enemies the chance to know what kind of shinobi you have in your village? A clan name alone could tell a thousand words...
