Hey, sup everybody? Just got back from my senior prom. It was freaking amazing, and I would like to let you all know: I look damn good in a vest and tuxedo. I danced with just about every girl I know, a few of the guys too. One of the guys kept trying to come on to me, the little scamp, and I think when one of my girl friends and I danced, I got to second base, without even meaning to. Twas ok though, she totally was doing all of it. And let me tell you, those dresses are made with strategically slippery material. Good times, good times.

Peace out, my buds. I'm gonna go crash on my frickin couch. zzzZZZZZ...

Hahaha, good toknow you enjoyed your senior prom. Mine is the first weekend of June, which is a good thing because I need the extra time to finish making my duct tape dress. Totally looking forward to the craziness though!

Wait? Whats your idea of 2nd base? My idea of it would be hard to do accidentally while dancing... XD

I'm glad you had a better time at your senior prom than I did at mine. Mine was...April 19, I think. A few Thursdays ago, at least. I really only went to get some of my friends in that didn't go to my school. I mean, it was fun watching Kris do her spellcaster dance at Bryan, and Bryan getting completely flipped out and looking terrified. And Tom scaring the hell out of people (a 22-year-old marine at a high school prom is quite a sight). I guess it was ok. I don't really dance, so going to a dance is pretty much just an opportunity to watch people.

And Nivedita Vidula, I demand to see pictures of your duct tape dress when you finish it and go to prom. Oh, and don't wait until the last minute to fix everything. I waited until the day before the prom to decide, "hey, I need to finish my shoes and make a bag to carry s**t around in!" So I was scrambling to finish it all in time. It is fun though. Except for the fact that it's quite a bit difficult to move. And you're more of an ornament than a functional human. Anyway...have fun and show me pictures.

Whoa...I feel kinda old!

I actually never went to my prom. I hated my fellow students with a passion and didn't want to bother spending money on them. Plus dances aren't a big thing for me razz

Haha, I derfinately plan on posting pictures. I'm running a blog of my progress in another guild, so there are a ton of pictures there already.

My friend that I am going with and I are running a "dry run" of prom before hand to get used to the dresses. We're unveiling them in our theater class. Should be fun.

While you're off partying, I'm doing Anthropology examinations for my first year of University. sad

I hope you enjoyed it. I have another few weeks before I can ditch my books for a month and kick it.

Ah, midterms! I just finished those! I'm doing Anth Theory this year...talk about tedious! If there's one thing about Anthropology, its that you'll learn everything four times.

Actually, my first year involves Social Anthropology, Psychology, Media and Communications and Sociology. And I'll be damned if you're going to make me learn any of that twice.

Well, the psychology and media and communications should be fine, but social anthropology...your other anthropology classes will echo at least some things that your learning right now....like famous anth people, anth theories and concepts, etc.

I'm so glad you had a good time! My senior prom is still a topic of conversation with my circle of friends 7 years later! (yep, I'm still with the same guy I went with and still bestfriends with the other girl we shared the limo with) We did go all out through, Friday night, a limo to get us to prom, close friends on the court (fun, real people-involved in theatre, music and speech-folks as opposed to the most athletic) and a private 2 bedroom condo to keep the party going long enough for us to crawl back to school sometime that following Wednesday.

Here, here to senior proms! Go with your group of friends and ignore everyone else if you gotta. Screw them, this can be one of the funnest time of your life!

Edit: Did I forget to mention that my bf and I officially got together that night so in just a few days we'll be celebrating our 7th anniversary! Can you see why I like prom so much?

PS-I'm dying to hear the kiss and tell details... xd

This be where I cast my lot as well...

though I'll refrain from complaining more about school/my classes, seeing as I did that not too long ago...

Ah, not too many to tell, at least from prom. But did I mention I'm a polyamorist and know a hell of a lot of smoking hot girls who are as smart as (Smarter than) I am? Life is good, buds.

I took a gay friend to my prom because I heard my friendly neighborhood psycho was working up the nerve to ask me. The department stores had all hidden any and all gowns by the time I bought one, so I wore something that made me feel uncomfortable, awkward and overpriced. My sister did my hair, and I'm pretty sure she calculated to make me look retarded. The food sucked, and I had a Calc III exam review the morning after, so I had to crash early. I failed the class (and probably the exam) anyway, so to this day I fail to see the point of my going to the damn review. I still refer to that teacher as "Hannibal Lector".

Basically, my prom came straight from the editing floor of some 80s Brat Pack movie.

I wish I could be more rage-filled about it, but really I expected it to suck. I think it turned out much better than I feared.

That said, I dig on "Cotton-Eye Joe" as well. I got the album.
