It was amazing, really, what a simple change of perspective could do. And as Amaroq moved along the beach in a trot that was just shy of strutting, it was apparent that change hadn't done anything he would deem negative. He was larger, he was stronger, he was faster, and damn did he look good. Even if his dam had been snapping at him quite a bit lately, displeased with her son's attitude, he just snapped right back...and then slipped off to explore. Princess had a strong kick, he'd found.

Which brought him right back to his current state, trotting along the beach.

A streak of azure zipped recklessly just above the sand and jetsam, wings pumping hard to bear her aloft after rapid descent. Vuja darted carelessly, the spray of her hooves occationally catching on waves tainting her body with cold. Eventually she slowed, wing's movements becoming more lethargic as she lit to the sand, trotting. She was well pleased, it was a good day to be out and about.

Movement caught Amaroq's eye, pulling him out of his self-admiration. He paused a moment, gaze tinged with disbelief as he watched the winged mare land and transition smoothly into a trot. He'd heard stories, sure, but he'd never actually seen a winged Soquili before. The mare was striking as well...wait a minute. He shook his head with a loud snort of disbelief, this time at himself. Since when had he seen females as anything more than a nuisance? Shoving that particular new and disturbing thought out of his mind, he simply stood and waited for her to reach him.

Noting quietly the black stallion some distance from her, politeness, an unusual aspect that didnt surface often seemed to bubble upwards. After all, it would be rude to not at least enquire of his health and well being in passing. That, and despite herself, Vuja's longing for quiet moments had subsided some as she grew older, and found virtue, even if it sometimes was a nuisance, in the company of others. She approached the stallion, shaking out her damp mane and tail.

Amaroq kept calmly poised on all four hooves as she came nearer, giving off an air of alert confidence. A brow raised a little at the chains draped about her neck and forelegs, and a light laugh sounded from his muzzle. He cocked his head, forelock not quite draping over a cool blue eye. "Hello there..." He trailed off, waiting for a name to be supplied.

Vuja grinned wryly, "Why, hello indeed." She slowed to a stop a fe paces from him and stretched her wings out lazily, "How are you doing on this fine day at the beach?" She didn't offer her name, or ask his, it was perhaps rude, but she preffered to allow others words in edgewise, it only felt right.

Amaroq snorted, quirking a brow as his mouth twitched sideways in amusement. His opinion of this female had just risen a few notches. Not to the level of himself, of course. That'd be asking for trouble before its time. "Doing fine, seeing the sights. Not much of this," he jerked his head at the waves, "In home lands." He watched her stretch her wings curiously, trying to figure just how they worked. Birds didn't tend to hold still for that sort of inspection, or explain. "The name's Amaroq...yours?"

The mare grinned and winked coyly, "Vuja De, The sudden feeling you've never met anyone like me before." It was admittedly a bed joke, one that might fly over a few heads she had met in the past. She inwardly hoped he caught it. Her wings folded back to their resting place carefully, but if he should ask, she'd probably show him.

Amaroq tossed his head back and laughed, blue eyes sparking with good humor. "Touche, Vuja. You would be correct, I'm sure I'd remember you if I had." He cocked his head, mouth curling in a smile. "My own means wolf, a legacy from my dad. He looks more like the real thing, of course." One shoulder lifted and fell in a shrug, for wolflike or not Amaroq was quite pleased with his own form.

Vuja nodded thoughtfully, "It is a good name, wolves are admirable people. Can't find a tighter family group usually, and you wont find better order or organization in almost anyone." She smiled, "I'm flattered that you are certain you would remember me."

Amaroq quirked a brow. "Is that so? I'd think you'd be used to it, wings are unusual, are they not? As well as such...blatant...two-legger contraptions." He glanced at the chains draped about her forelegs and neck. "They look as if they could have a story about them." While he was ambivalent on the idea of most two-legger 'decorations,' those chains looked as if they could be cumbersome. Certainly, the leg ones could interfere with running.

She smiled and gave a shrug with one shoulder, cocking her head to the side, spreading her wings out and looking at them carefully, "My parents and my brothers all have them, I wouldnt think of them as unusual, just ... well...different I guess." She shook her head, the chain jingling lightly, "I keep these chains because I took them as a child, to be like my father. I suppose you could say i've just gotten so used to them I do not think of them as a burden, but rather just another part of who I am."

"Mine don't...thus why I would think of them as such." Amaroq smirked, but he wasn't yet warming up to really taunting. She was interesting, and her manner lacked the overtly challenging manner that spurred him to bring the bearer of such down a peg or three. He was a hypocrite, sure, but nobody had ever called him one so he didn't realize it...and possibly didn't care. "My colors are more like my dad's but...I prefer to be different as I am. Suits me just fine to let my brother look like him...with mom's coloring, anyways." He snorted softly with a small shake of his head. "But that's enough about family. I'm sure you're curious about other things."

She nodded slightly, "What brings you out to the beach today? Just the relative quietness, a good run?" In truth the beach was a favorite place of hers, for her own reasons, but none the less the young stallion quirked her intrest enough for her to ask questions. It was certainly a start, and more courtesy than she afforded most.

Amaroq snorted, glancing at her sidelong with those cool blue eyes. "Getting away from the females, actually," he admitted. Tossing his head with a switch of his tail, he continued, "And by that, I mean my mother and sister. One's got a problem with my 'attitude,' and the other thinks I could use more 'polish.'" His skin shivered as though attempting to flick off a fly. "I'll manage myself...don't need anyone else doing it for me."
