You forgot the Phantom of the Paradise. Though that's just based off PotO and a TV movie. Oh well. Still counts in my book. ^^;

Oh my gosh, I finally got my hands on a copy of the 89 version with Robert Englund, and OH-MY-GOSH. I never thought I'd actually be attracted to him, but after he played the Phantom, I had a strange attration to him! rofl But, the part where he kills Buquet and the blood splurts on his face, and his eyes roll back in his head like he's having an orgasam- I LAUGHED SO HARD!!!!! rofl Hilarious, I love that version!!!! :giggle:
heart heart heart

The Robert Englund version is one of my favorites. Though it's not totally what I'd expect (cliche going back in time, relating the story to Faust when they are two different things, and I don't even think there's a Raoul) it's a good movie.
Then again, I like gorey movies.

The Claude Rains movie SUCKED.
I really want to see the Charles Dance one, though.
I've seen the Lon Chaney and the Gerard Butler one.

I need help identifying a movie version.
First of all, it was amazingly horrible. I wouldn't have recognized it as Phantom if not for hearing the names "Christine," "Raoul" and "Erik."
Erik had no mask, but he had really long, pale hair, and Christine hit his face with a rock. Christine and Raoul both had brown hair. After Raoul "rescued" Christine, she kept calling out for Erik, but a bunch of gendarmes were trying to kill him. I didn't get to see very much, so I don't know if Erik finally kicked the bucket, but it was really, really stupid.
The hardest part of this is that I don't know what language it was originally in. I saw it in French, but I had my contacts out so I couldn't easily tell if it was dubbed. (If, by some stroke of sheer luck, people have French TV listings from July, I saw it in Paris on July 11 on channel 12. It was nearly midnight.)
I doubt anyone will be able to help me, but if you can I will love you for ever and ever.

Not the best version, I must say.

Lon Chaney - Great, have issues, but is still a great movie
Claude Raines - *Shudders* Oh, so terrible. Like the mask.
The Phantom of the Opera (1990/I) (TV) - Tony Richardson - God forgive me, but I love this series. It's so utterly camp. I bought the DVD recently and have watched it multiple times. It's bad and camp, but I enjoy it so.
Fantasma dell'opera, Il (199 cool - Dario Argento - The Hell? That is all I can say. Telepathic rats??????
ALW Musical - Love, Love, Love it. It isn't perfect. it has plenty of faults. Yet I love the cast. heart Emmy heart Gerrard is sooo dreamy. blaugh The look. The feel. Just a beautiful movie.
I've got the Robert Englund version on hold at the library and I just rented the Rosen and Schierhorn musical, but have yet to watch it.

That would explain why some characters looked the way they did... I love you forever, now, just so you know.
