I've seen and heard a few questions about why anyone would like someone who didn't bathe regularly in relation to Sev. Here's my guess:

There are people in this world not blessed with kind bodies. Some people are badly shaped, some people gain weight in strange places, some people have crooked teeth... and some people have greasy hair. I know: creepy, huh? Well, I guess they're all creepy, but there are still people who love the badly-shaped, crooked-toothed, weirdly-weighty people. Why is it such a jump to think they could like greasy-haired people.

So I admit, I'm the kid in school with the greasy hair. But it doesn't matter what I do. I've washed it and had someone tell me scant hours afterwards that I needed to wash my hair--it's oily. It's not too bad, but after years of being nagged, yeah. Sometimes, you start to do things like put off baths. It's useless, anyway. Heck, sometimes your hair looks better after a couple of washless days. That's when you know your hair's screwy.

Heh. But it is kinda funny because I'm nearly the living incarnation of Severus Snape. Only female. And nicer. I do look like him, though, and I can understand why he holds a grudge for the smart-arse remarks made and why he does--if he does--put off baths. It never really does tell you whether or not he does, though. The only people to say so are the Marauders and unless J. K. Rowling didn't tell us something important, they don't live with him. They could hardly claim to be experts.

Snapes hair creeps me out it is so disgusting. I dont know how anyne can like him! He can not have bathed its so easy to get greasy hair if you dont bathe and dont wash your hair. ICK!

However, I did and I think you are correct. As for the animagus, I think you could be right too, or we could all be over analyzing the whole subject. Maybe he is just a person with greasy hair...lol

Yeah, I agree with the greasy thing. My friend Kate had the problem, too, until she discovered that Herbal Essences "Drama Clean" shampoo and conditioner solves her oily hair problem. Obviously, Snape hasn't found a shampoo that works yet.

Ya, I think Snape needs to find a good shampoo and conditioner that will solve his greasy hair problem, but if he didn't have greasy hair, then would us fangirls still love him....probably still tie him up and take him away with us *lol*. Maybe, he should try Petene (sp) since I hear that's a good brand of shampoo that can make anyone's hair look good....though its very expensive. xp

O ya, I agree his changing form thingy could be a raven, or a bat.

I think he has greay hair cuz of all the potions he's done. Cuz think when your cooking something and you're right over it doesnt your face and hair get a little damp. Now think of that plus Snape doing all those potions with the ingredents going up in the steam and him standing over it to make sure everything goes correctly. Now he probably does shower every day but when he does potins all the time it would be kinda hard to keep your hair nice now wouldn't it.

I think Severus Snape is wonderful, greasy hair and all. He's so mysterious<(Sorry, can't spell), and cool. I think he's perfect the way he is.

His hair is soo cool tho, i have told my mum i'm cutting my hair like his, and re-dying it black. Yes his hair does look greasy, but who's doesn't in these ages, i had a time were my hair was greasy, we couldn't figur out why... it's still a mystery to me
