User ImageThe pale blue armored female fluttered her white wings effortlessly across the cool air. Though it was midday, the air outdoors was still quite chilly for the time of month it was. Her emerald eyes gazed into the distance where the Realm HQ was located, but she didn't aim for there specifically. For one reason or another, she could tell he wasn't there. Not that she was heading to HQ solely for that reason. But she wanted some fresh air to clear her mind of worldly thoughts. And perhaps another chance of meeting a new kitsu would arise. Despite the fact that she hardly interacted with people much, it was still a worthwhile experience once in a while. 'Least here there seems ever lasting peace. Sure, there were the occational nightmares or kitsus like Envy and his mate who stirred up trouble, but it was manageable to an extent.

Flying towards nowhere was her objective, really. There wasn't any one specific place she wanted to venture off towards. Even if those Mountain areas seemed friendly enough, she never really had the will to venture there. She knew it wasn't any more dangerous over there than here, in Realm, but she never found an incentive to venture over the borders.

Well...except now. Vergil, during the short glimpses of time when the two of them met together would always somehow mention his twin brother. Or Lenneth would somehow unintentionally "provoking" him to speak of his brother. Though the descriptions were vague, she could picture an imperfect picture of his twin in her mind. It might be slightly off from the real thing, but she guessed it would suffice enough. After all, she wouldn't want to make Vergil describe him to her fully in hopes that he wouldn't ask why or have that precious small gaps in time when the two met together get stolen away.

She entered the borders separating Realm and Mountain just barely. At most she was ten feet away from where Realm rested. Even though this may be where he didn't frequent, she could feel deep within her core that he would come out to meet her even if this was not planned at all. It was almost the same feeling as when she could "predict" Vergil's entrance. Almost the same, but not quite the same. It was different in its own right. But that was logical, since the two were not one and the same.

User ImageWithout really knowing why, Dante was out wandering today as well. He'd noticed his twin's frequent absences as of late, and it hurt just a little (or more than a little) that he had no idea where Vergil went when he disappeared, sometimes for a matter of hours.

It probably wasn't helping at this point that Araphel had finally had children of her own. In fact, Dante had just come from visiting his daughter and her mate where they lived just inside the borders of the Realm and he was heading back in the general direction of home - though not by any means straight there.

Coming out from under some trees, he stopped for a moment, glancing up into the clear sky with a sigh. Where had his brother been going off to so much lately? He blinked then, spotting something glinting high above - flying. One of the Angelics perhaps..? Not that it was any of his concern. Slowly, he lowered his head again and continued slowly on his way.

Her ears flickered at the sound of a noise approaching her. At first it was just a false alarm, merely an animal making its way across the ground. Then it came. The person she was waiting for. He had the same platinum hair as Vergil, though worn slightly differently than the cerulean-eyed beauty. The differences in the hair color was minor, but a little obvious. She could tell that he was the one she waited for. Just a gut feeling, honestly. But his appearance was similar to that of Vergil's. The same softened expression with a hint of lingering pain. Just the opposite she imagined him to be.

Slowly, she descended carefully behind him, making as little noise as possible. There wasn't any reason as to why she intended not to make much noise...probably a habit out of battles. In either case, she paused there only inches off the ground to gaze at him from behind just a little more. The crimson twin gave off a familiar presence that the cerulean one carried. Not only that, but he also carried his twin's scent. Quite the intoxicating scent, if she might add.

Hesitantly, she called out softly to the crimson being, "Pardon me..." Just as she called out to him, she realized she didn't even know his name. Not just that, but what would she even say? 'Hello, I'm Lenneth and I'm currently having relations with your twin brother. Nice to meet you, I hope we get along well together.'? That would hardly be a greeting to the only family Vergil really...knew.

The Valkyrie found herself fidgeting with her hands, a bit nervous about this meeting. Even though there was no reason to feel nervous, she felt so anyway. It was never this way prior to her meeting with Vergil...

Where normally Dante might have heard her approach - silent as it was - for various reasons he didn't hear it this time. Lost in his own thoughts, he hadn't been paying much attention to senses that could pick up on the approach of just-as-silent demons - necessary in his line of work.

So it was that he jumped just a little and spun quickly, landing slightly crouched to look at her. After just a moment, he relaxed though, with a bit of an embarrassed smile. Ears flicked forward from where they'd layed back against his head, and he dipped his head slightly. Not a threat ... just a stranger. At least he didn't think that she was a threat.

"Hello there ... were you looking for me?" he asked, curious as to why someone would just come up to him at random like this.

She watched with the utmost patience as he turned around. For one reason or another her heart jumped at almost the exact same time he jumped. At first his expression was serious, as if she were a threat, then with time his expression softened again. No matter how many times she gazed at his features, the resemblance between him and his brother were dashingly similar. Gazing at him almost made her blush since it reminded her of sweet Vergil. Though it didn't quite show itself just yet.

Her ears flopped for a bit revealing her hesitancy to speak with him. Despite the fact that she approached him first, or rather, searched for him first, she hesitated in answering. What should she say? For the brief pause, she thought about her choice of words carefully, selecting only appropriate ones for the situation.

"Ahh...yes, I was," She paused again, unsure if she wanted to continue her sentence. Inwardly the female debated the pros and cons of asking. Would he act alarmed? Or rather, would Vergil hear of it and react badly towards this? But nothing would happen unless she asked. It was best to ask, yes. "Are you...By chance are you a Spartan?" What she intended to ask was 'Are you the other Spartan' or 'Are you Vergil's other half whom he spoke of so fondly?', but this was better than nothing. Plus it left more room for the conversation, or what little of it there was.

Dante sat down after a moment, even more relaxed and watched her, head tilted just slightly to one side. His bangs fell into his face a bit and blue eyes were curious, one brow raising just a bit at her initial answer.

And then at the question, his head tilted the other way, but he replied easily, "If you mean am I a son of Sparda, yea, I am. There a reason you were looking for me?"

It was rather obvious by his manner so far that he was more relaxed than his twin usually was. He offered her a smile then, an easy motion of his face - that expression seeming to be a familiar one to his face. He still didn't think that she was any sort of threat, he was just ... curious as to why she might seek him out.

[Mandarrr~! asdadh I just saw a trailer to a DMC anime. @w@]

Everything about him was basically the polar opposite of his twin. While his twin carried a serious expression and a once in a blue moon smile, this one offered one up to her so effortlessly. His was much more natural than the cerulean beauty's, probably because of the nature that the two twins were. Even though Vergil's was a bit crooked at times, imperfect in its own perfect way, the crimson twin's was quite possibly to the point of perfection. She could clearly see why the two shared such a bond, or at the very least why Vergil was so fond of him. In the crimson one's presence, she felt almost...inferior. She was almost positive that if she were ever together with the two, that the overwhelming presence of the crimson one would overshadow her mellow blues.

Lenneth wasn't exactly a threat to Dante in the way he thought she was. Not physically in that she would harm him in any way unless out of self defense, but even then she might feel reluctant to do so. She was probably closer to him in a threat that she could place a wedge between the relationship of the two brothers. Not that she would intentionally do so, of course. Though it seemed that there was already a wedge in which she was not prior aware of which existed in between the two. It came in the form of offspring. The one in which stole him away from her the first time they met--she was almost certain he was related to this crimson one in front of her. He carried this one's genes in some way, shape or form. Even so, with that feeling of another possible wedge, one created by her, made her feel almost...guilty for falling for Vergil. But how can one truly be guilty of falling in love...?

Again, the hesitation seemed obvious. She had to pause once more to carefully choose proper words to address him. The wrong words might cause an unnecessary feud between the two. Or at least she would think it would happen. Jealousy, after all, was a hideous thing.

"Yes," She paused to choose another bunch of words to string together, "I was seeking your...presence." A half truth, in a way. She was seeking his presence to speak with him. At the very least, get to know him. Though she contemplated greatly over mentioning her...relationship with Vergil. Even though he seemed more openly kind than his cerulean twin, he still might not approve of their relationship. He was really the only family that Vergil had, so who else was there to seek approval from?

(( I know I've seen it too!! Looks sooo awesome 8DD <33 ))

Dante tilted his head a bit, ears pricked toward her now. His prescence, huh..? He had the random thought that this female spoke somewhat like his twin - far more properly than he himself did most of the time. He didn't mind it, it was just ... a bit of an oddity, in a way. "Really now?" he asked, that grin going a bit lopsided - though in a friendly sort of way.

Dante liked to make friends and associate with others, unlike his twin. The thought that the other kitsu might know Vergil hadn't even crossed his mind, as his twin normally avoided any and all contact with others. "Oh man ... where are my manners?" he said then, looking faintly embarassed. "I'm Dante ... just who pointed you in my direction, if ya don't mind my asking?"

The way she was acting, it was obvious she'd heard of him from somebody, especially since she'd been hunting specifically for him.

[I can't wait for eeet~! @w@]

How should she break the ice to him? She knew that with the way Vergil acted making new associations that lasted was a rarity. Almost as rare as his crooked, yet mysteriously charming smiles. The thought of making...friends seemed even more rare, and well, the thought of making a relationship with a female seemed more like a joke than anything else. He certainly didn't really...woo in a way most females would expect. And his tender affection honestly was more like an illusive dream more than anything else. He was like a...rock in simplest terms. A very cold, anti-social rock. Lenneth could hardly believe that of all people he would find what he missed within her. None the less, however, she was more than glad that he did.

Certainly, his twin knew of his behaviors more clearly than anyone else. With that, he would certainly know that Vergil going off to meet with a female would sound like a joke at first. But it was no joke at all. They in fact, have found a bond within each other. One different from the closeness the two brothers shared, but not in a bad sense at all.

"I am Lenneth..." She introduced herself. Honestly, though, what should she say? It was probably best to break the ice slowly rather than leave behind sharp, jagged chunks. "Your...twin brother, Vergil mentioned you often during our conversations. I thought it best to seek you out and finally meet his infamous twin in person," She smiled hesitantly.

Dante froze and blue eyes widened at that, staring at her for a loooong moment or two. Vergil? Actually talking to someone? Having conversations? Oook, that was kinda weird.

Then he realized how he probably looked, staring like that, and ducked his head a bit, smoothing expression. "You sure we're thinking of the same Vergil here?" he asked, trying to lighten the suddenly heavy mood. He hadn't meant to react like that just ... it was rather surprising. Smiling again, he held a paw up at the height of his own head, " 'Bout this tall, blue eyes, silver hair ... cold as ice, Vergil? Having conversations? Hm. Maybe he's sick ..."

She hadn't really known the same Vergil as Dante did, he probably saw all sides of him that she would never see. When the two of them met he did talk, briefly--about the same amount as her. For him, or anyone close to him such as Dante here, it was probably more than how much he talked on average. Perhaps they were used to glares, but she wasn't. His soft face with that crooked smile was what she saw when they often met together. Though she would like to see his other expressions, too, if the opportunity should ever arise.

Briefly, she nodded once or twice, "Yes, I am sure. He looks about the same as you? After all, the two of you are brothers, twins, no less. Unless the two of you just coincidentally looked similar, I am positive he is the same Vergil. Or maybe you two have other relatives that look similar to you?" That was unlikely, though. Vergil spoke of only one brother and one brother alone.

Her ears twitched at the last remark. Was it really that hard to accept that Vergil maybe...was normal once in a while? He wasn't extremely talkative, the most they'd do is exchange glances or just enjoy one another's company. But he did talk, if only briefly. "I do not think he is sick..." She added briefly.

Dante blinked at all of that, and then laughed softly, eyes lidding for a moment. "I was kidding, Lenneth ... kidding. I know he's not sick, it's kinda hard for us to even get sick." A pause, and he looked thoughtful for a moment, gaze gone distant.

"It's just odd that he's actually reaching and out and talking to someone else," he said then, with a bit of a crooked smile. "He's usually reeeeal anti-social around anyone but me, and bordering on downright rude." Dante couldn't help feeling a little hint of jealousy - rather irrational becuase it was good that his twin was trying - but he shoved it down immediately. It would do his brother good to have some social interaction now and again.

Lenneth, like Vergil, was definitely not the light-hearted type of kitsu. They could, or at least she could never understand a joke unless it was bluntly obvious. Even then usually someone else would laugh to cue her to chime in with a smile or a simple facial expression. So of course, when Dante stated that he was kidding around, a sense of relief temporarily shined through her like sunlight bursting through the gray clouds.

Her ears flickered at the crimson twin's response. She hadn't...really known what Vergil was like around others, as their time together was usually uninterrupted except when one, or both of them had to go their separate ways. Of course, it was no surprise to hear that he warmed up to his twin, of all people. Upon hearing that, she could feel a slight ting of jealous boiling within her. It seemed so easy with his twin. Everything revolved around him, practically. The close bond between the twins made her envious, even more so because they had known one another much longer than she had known either of them combined.

It was probably time to break the ice...as slowly as she could manage. Staring at Dante with a serious expression [as always] on her face, she said with some bit of confidence in her voice, "You see...Vergil and I are...well...How should I put this?" She paused briefly to gather her thoughts, it was easiest to get straight to the point, "Seeing one another?" She could already feel the anxiety in her heart as it raced one-thousand-miles-per-hour. This could make or break the fragile relationship she had with Vergil. If he didn't approve, nothing else would matter.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 19, 2007 7:45 pm

At that Dante simply ... froze. For a very long long couple of moments. At first he thought maybe he'd heard wrong ... and then that perhaps Lenneth was reading more into it or ... something. But she didn't seem the type to just assume something like that. Especially as ... now that he looked back on it, he could pretty much guess that she was here to ... ask his permission? Or something like that ********>. What he wanted to do was scream ... and then go on a nice killing rampage or two. Or three. But he knew that wasn't a good idea, not in front of her. He didn't want Lenneth upset ... wasn't her fault that his twin had apparently lost his damn brain somewhere along the way. He couldn't even think beyond that at the moment ... just ... angry at Vergil for doing this. Somewhere beneath that, there was a world of hurt, but he wasn't near ready to go there.

Finally, he blinked, sort of unfreezing ... and murmured, "Oh ... I see ..." He knew that wasn't a very good answer. But it wasn't screaming and ... really he was doing very very good to even act that calm about it. s**t.

At the seemingly long pause, Lenneth, too, froze in place. Only the whispers of the wind along with the small flickers from her wings were the only noises circulating around the two. At the long silence, of course she didn't take it that Dante...approved. Not that she thought he would anyway. But the deafening silence only made matters worse. At first she did have a small, tiny, flickering glimmer of hope deep within her mind. Now it seems even the small light was diminished despite the words Dante said.

It was quite obvious he wasn't very pleased to hear this news. But so what? It's not as if Dante didn't see others which was apparent in his direct, or in-direct[grand children, etc] spawn. Was it really fair that Dante could do that to Vergil yet Vergil couldn't do the same in return? Who could help the attraction between a man and a woman? It's a natural thing for crying out loud.

Not to...pour more gas into the fire, but she had to ask anyway. If he broke out, he broke out. Simplest thing to do would be to avoid the confrontation by simply flying away. He could only jump so high, after all. "Do you...approve, then?" Her voice obviously strained from the stress she felt at the moment.

Even though the two shared a close bond beyond that of brothers, they could only remain brothers at most no matter how damn close they were. It's not as if the two could just suddenly abandon all of society's beliefs just to extend their bond with one another. Forever and ever, the two could remain brothers, and at most, close brothers. So why would he not approve? If, according to many definitions of "true love" then Dante would not interfere and approve. One's happiness was part of one's well being, so if Dante loved his brother, he would let his twin do as he pleased, right? So as long as it wasn't hurting Vergil, of course. Not that it was anyway.
