Well in most cases the character are not temporary but with some like Prue its the actors who play them that want to do other things such as directing and wish to move on from the show so their character ends up being killed off

In the case of Shannon, nobody could get along with her (as in, the actress) so they killed off her character.

Its a shame prue never came back from the dead now and then like Grams or Patty as it would have been nice to see how thye characters got on and what Prue might have thought of having another sister

The actress just wanted off the show, that's basically it. I rather they kill the character off than replace the actress.

I liked Prue as a char, but Shannon is.... lets just say I don't like her as a person. Hence why she can't seem to hold any acting jobs for very long. That's all I'm gonna say cause the rest is very mean....

i reakon future chris should have stayed on for a little longer i didnt want him to die...i surposed he really isnt dead because of little chris but he is only a baby but still.......... you know what i mean

I liked Chris. He was amazing. And they never got a new whitelighter after He died and after Leo fell from grace.
