"That's never going to work, lad."

A growl of frustration was heard in response, but no words seemed strong enough to change Diego's opinion. Damned whomever tried, too. Not even Oswald, whom was currently looking over the vampire's shoulder with skeptical eyes managed to talk him out of his current activities, "Oh, it'll work alright," he growled in return, tugging and pulling at a bit of cloth, annoyance obviously shown upon his expression.

"No, really, that's never going to work, Diego. Let it go; give that poor cloth a fair funeral and occupy your time with something more productive," the larger nightmare had to refrain from rolling his golden eyes, his serpentine tongue coming out to click over fangs, "You might was well be courting a stone wall. Give it a rest," this voiced, Oswald turned his attention to the book he'd been holding, resuming his reading, if only for brief moments. Sadly, his nature seemed to pull him to continue looking; it was almost like watching an accident happen. A morbid feeling that coiled around him, telling him that there would be hell to pay, and yet making it at the same time, impossible to divert his attention.

More growls of frustration and the vampire tugged on, sinking his claws into the carpet. Determination was shinning upon his red orbs, and he seemed oblivious to whatever his elder was telling him, opting to switch out the nightmare's voice, making it some sort of white noise in the background, "We'll just see about that," he grumped, his maw full with the cloth he was still biting and tugging at.

Even as Oswald frowned and seemed almost inclined to talk again, a much smaller, monochromatic female padded into the room, her eyes regarding the scene before snorting, "Leave it, Ossy; it's not gonna work - it's like talking to a brick wall," the nightmare blinked and lowered his gaze at the small female as she curled up beside him, his gaze voicing the fact he did not appreciate the nickname in the least, "Oh, come off it; you know you like it," this said, the panda marked kitsu lifted her paw and licked at her pelt happily, her eyes straying over to Diego briefly, "What's he think he's doin' anyways?"

A sigh from the nightmare as he focused his attention back to his book, "He's trying to make a present," pausing, he peered over his shoulder, "Trying being the keyword here, actually," this time, the anthro did succumb to the need to roll his eyes, earning himself a small kick from one of Diego's boots.

"Hey I'm still here! Don't talk about me like I'm not here!"

"You might as well NOT be here, lad; you're not even listening to me, now are you?" snorting, the nightmare ignored the second small kick directed at his person, his tongue slipping out of his beak like maw only to retreat back inside again, "That's no way to court a lady anyhow."

The growls and low murmured 'I'll show you how to court a lady, not like you've ever bloody well courted a lady anyhow' didn't pass unnoticed to the panda female, whom had the grace to hide her growing smile behind a well placed paw, however, the fact the nightmare turned to aim a sullen glare at her voiced the fact he'd noticed her humour, "Well, at any rate," she replied tartly, "I believe /I/ am the only female in the room, and so, the only one able to say what gives," as both pair of masculine eyes slowly turned to face her, Blanca smirked, "First off, if that's for Violet, Diego, I suggest to give it up, put it to rest in-freaking-deed, and find something else. Chocolates work wonders," she said, then paused to lick her maw, "Or cheese..." another pause, "But then again, she might get offended if you bring her food."

"Maybe he should try some roses?" this came from Oswald, whom had set his book to the side and remain reclined against the wall, observing the panda.

"Too old fashioned," murmured the female as she tapped her maw, "Maybe he should try taking her out for a moonlit walk?"

"And maybe I should just stick my head into a barrel of blood and drown myself, for all the help offered here," he finally let go of the cloth he'd been tugging at, a poor attempt at a bow and ribbon laying unused on the floor. The dark leer he was offering both his house mates did nothing to hide the fact he'd given up on this particular project.

"That could work too!" came the cheerful chirp from the female as Oswald chuckled and the vampire rolled his eyes, murmuring something about sarcasm being lost within this house. The fact it was late in the evening was not doing much to his mood; he wasn't expecting the night to get much better anyhow.

"A present for Violet, oh?" A sultry voice asked from the foyer. The owner was a leather and staple glad, slinking beauty of a kitsu that had slunk her way to the doorframe without anyone's notice. She wasn't a memeber of the h ousehold, had never come about before, and yet she her very air proclaimed that she belonged there without a doubt in her mind.

Furthermore, she seemed to know something about them, or at least the orange primadonna and her would-be-courtier. "The colour is wrong as well," She added, with a look towards the miserably failed gift. Lifting a paw to her mouth to lick she thought a moment before adding, "Jewelry. Violet does so love her sparklies... not that I blame her."

After another moment, a warning was put upon the end of this, "But nothing that looks cheap!"

"Or clashes with her fur colour,"
A perky voice added as the second strange kitsu wandered into the conversation univited. Defective Purple, or DP as others called her, was no longer Defective though she retained the name. Her wings fluttered happily behind her as she sat opposite Selena against the doorframe. "Like red. Red would blend in too much, and she prefers to be noticed."

"What woman doesn't?" Selena gave a low laugh, one brow raising though she never deigned to look at any of her companions.
