SNAKEFIN, Louis

User Image name: Louis Anderson Snakefin
age: Nine
gender: Male
eyes: Deep, ocean blue
skin: Olive
hair: Oily green, streaked with ocean blue

height: 4' 0
weight: 27 kilos

likes: Louis is very much the Eel on the outside as well as on the inside. His most favorite places are dark, small and enclosed, and his most favorite things are either wet or food. That being said, he is also quite shy, and isn't easily identifiable with notable likes or dislikes. He does like playing with dolls, however.
dislikes: Despite being quite shy, Louis is very easily aggravated, and when provoked can be sent into a frenzied, blind, "attack" mode. When he comes back to his senses he is usually quite upset over what he has done, therefore dislikes and distrusts anyone who could possibly provoke him. He avoids loud people, tough-looking people and roughhousing children.

visible traits: A long Eel tail and fins on his arms and legs
other traits: Waterbreathing, Dim Light

personality: Louis is an exceptionaly shy and quiet little boy, with a fear of new people, places and things. He preffers to cuddle up in a big blanket in his dark room and sleep then communicate openly with people or play with other children, and stays well out of the way of the louder and more rambunctious children as often as possible. He is exceedingly shy around people he is not familiar with, though he loves people once he gets to know them, cuddling them and getting them all slimey as often as possible. It can be said that once he has gotten attached and familiar with someone, he is quite difficult to get away from, though why anyone he'd choose to trust would attempt to abandon him is beyond explanation.

notable talents: Though he is shy and difficult to study, it seems as though his most prominent talent is swimming (a given, due to the aquatic nature of his DNA) He can remain submerged for an indefinite amount of time, breathe underwater, and is quite maneuverable and skilled in underwater navigation.

history: Notes from the Faction have shown that Louis was orphaned at quite a young age, after his father murdered his mother, then shot himself. Louis lived in the home his parents died in for a few months until he was discovered by an orphanage. The faction happened across him quite early, then, and he has been living with them for quite a while.

Aolou, SNAKEFIN

name: SNAKEFIN Aolou
age: ???
eyes: ???
skin: ???

type: Leviathan
subspecies: Deep Water
length: ???
weight: ???

appearance: ???
traits: Waterbreathing, Dim Light, Bioluminescence

personality: ???

notable talents: ???

history: ???

Technician N says: SNAKEFIN is a deepwater leviathan. When he is independently functional, I estimate that he should be about six feet long, although I don't know how big he'll be at maturity. Most likely, he will keep growing throughout his entire life. He has been equipped with a set of collapsible lungs and a chambered pressurizing system. SNAKEFIN has a rather peculiarly shaped head for deepwater leviathans. It's streamlined with functional teeth. The large and elastic stomach is usual, as are the trailing transparent fins equipped with nematocysts. If we got it right, they should recognize your electrical signal as part of the body and not fire when you touch them.

ARKENSAS, Anne-stella

name: Anne-stella Louise Arkensas
age: Twenty-one
gender: Female
eyes: Dark chocolate
skin: Average
hair: Black, with silvery bangs

height: 5' 9
weight: 43 kilos

likes: Reading, teaching, children and friendly people
dislikes: Ignorance, foolishness, cruel people and heat

personality: Anne-stella is a no-nonsense type of woman. She comes across as a very "teacher" like lady, with her short, neat hair and crisp outfits, though she's really just a big softie inside. She's thin, tall, strict and appears to be a little older than she really is, although she is still a very beautiful woman. She had been studying teaching for a long time, and was overjoyed when she was invited to take part in the Faction S facilities, excited to be a parent to a young boy part of something so mysterious and amazing, and being able to see first hand his experiences in the Faction. She treats Louis like her own son, and (quite often) spoils him rotten. "He is a well-behaved boy," so she says, "and he deserves to be treated every now and then!"

Friends

These are people that Louis feels fairly safe in the company of, and has met on at least one occasion.

User Image CALEB Louis met the hyperactive puppy-dog boy through a small, organized visit, which had been intended to make him more sociable. The two are unspoken friends.

Louis' Opinion- He is loud and likes to move alot. I like him. Even though he was silly and thought dollies were alive, we built a city together, and it was fun. He was nice and was gentle too.

Anne's Opinion- (Not met yet.)

LUCIUS AND URI Louis has only met the twins once, on an organised lunch Anne coordinated for them. He seemed to get along well enough with the boys, as has become much braver when meeting new people lately.

Louis' Opinion- They are nice, and eat with their mouths closed. Sometimes they talk at the same time, that's silly a little bit, but I still like them. We talked about my doctor's Chimera and had sandwiches.

Anne's Opinion- The boys are very well behaved and were considerate and friendly towards Louis. I'd happy organize another meeting between the boys.

Others

These children Louis has no opinion of, as of yet, due to either not meeting them, or just being a generally shy little kid.

User Image GLACEU (Not met.)

Louis' Opinion- (Not met yet.)

Anne's Opinion- (Not met yet.)

User Image FAIGEL Having met accidentally in the hall, Louis got his first glimpse of what his fighting life would be like. Sending him into a blind rage, he is most likely her enemy, however he is simply quite afraid of her and has no opinion whatsoever.

Louis' Opinion- Very very scary girl! She made me angry, and then I don't remember much...I hope I don't meet her again, I'm afraid of what will happen. I wonder if I've hurt her enough to make her mad at me...?

Anne's Opinion- (Not met yet.)

VES Met only during short medical checkups, Louis has little opinion of the man and his Chimera.

Louis' Opinion- He checks up to see if I'm healthy sometimes. I don't think I've seen him outside the medicine room...

Anne's Opinion- It's difficult to have an opinion on what can be called our family doctor, now. He seems nice enough, of course, but that is only in a professional environment. I wouldn't mind catching up ourside of the regular check ups.

CALICOGRACE (not met yet)

Louis' Opinion- (Not met yet.)

Anne's Opinion- (Not met yet.)

CALICOSENSE (not met yet)

Louis' Opinion- (Not met yet.)

Anne's Opinion- (Not met yet.)

SANDFOX (not met yet)

Anne-stella does not rent. She believes that renting is the lowest form of living, and refuses to give out money on a regular basis simply for not being able to afford a home. She comes from a well-off family, money-wise, and has been saving for her home for quite a long time. The result is a beautiful three bedroom home and a secure sense of living for her and Louis. Having received word of being considered for guardianship of a young orphaned child long before she actually went to meet Louis, Anne had been collecting things for Louis' room for quite some time.

The neighbors on their left side are a pair of well-mannered elderly people, who are nearing their 60th anniversary of marriage, and enjoy sitting in chairs on their back porch and bringing cucumber sandwiches over for Louis in the afternoons. Louis is very fond of the pair, and calls them Nana and Pop. The neighbors on their right side are a young, unmarried couple who are expecting their first child within a few months. They are quiet, good-natured and well-off, which is not surprising for the area. Louis hasn't spoken to them yet, but sees them sometimes when Anne takes him out to walk down to the shops and buy their dinners.

All in all, the neighborhood is a quiet, calm place where wealthy people live. Elderly people and single, middle aged executives are not rare, and it is not odd to see a young, wealthy family at the park enjoying themselves. The grass is always mowed and neighbors always say hello to neighbors.

louis' things

User ImageBANNI Banni was originally designed for babies and toddlers, but Louis grew so attached to her that she remains with him still. She sits on his bed, and is cuddled tight at bed time. Anne has to wash her regularly due to the thin film of slime that Louis' skin produces to keep him wet, even out of the water, as she soon gets quite thick with the stuff and looks very sad in all her slimyness. Louis doesn't like it when she's too slimy, and often brings her to Anne, requesting she washes her.

Banni isn't the sort of toy Louis carries around, however, as he prefers to hold onto his tail instead of relying on a toy or a blanket for comfort. When he's alone in his room, however, Banni is the next best thing to his tail.

User Image SHARK and friends Regular visits to the Faction's indoor swimming pools has left Anne to accumulate a large amount of toys intended for use during bath time for Louis' amusement. Shark and his two little squeaky friends are some of Louis' favorite toys, though the two little friends are floating toys, and Louis has a hard time keeping them submerged as he plays underwater, often surfacing with Shark to stalk them, then scooping them up in his mouth and diving down again (usually only to have them resurface the moment he lets go of them)

Anne is considering weighting the two so that Louis can pay freely underwater, however her seems to enjoy chasing them around the pool as the try to bob back up to the top of the water.

User Image SQUISHIES A bunch of squeaking, water-squirting plastic bath toys which Anne regularly takes with them to the Faction S pools. They have already been weighted, so Louis can easily swim around on the bottom of the pool for as long as he wants with them. The only time he resurfaces is to playfully squirt any one else in the pool (generally this is only Anne, as he prefers to swim in peace)

history

Louis was born into the typical, average family. He had no older brothers or sisters, and his two parents considered him their "last hope." They had simply conceived him in an attempt to save their marriage, and with the birth of an eel-finned boy who was constantly covered in slime and able to breathe underwater, their marriage only got worse from there. Beatings and fights and breaking things, punching holes in walls and bruised eyes were just day-to-day things. Louis' father attempted to drown him on his first birthday, drunk enough to forget that the boy could breathe just as easily under the water.

It was a year later, when Louis was two, that he tragically lost his parents. Drunk, enraged and attempting to cut bacon with a knife, Louis' father turned on his mother and slashed her throat over the dinner table. He then retrieved his favorite pistol from his jacket, and put it in his mouth, killing himself in front of his only son.

It wasn't long that Louis was trapped in the house alone. He survived off of whatever food he could manage to scrape up, and gingerly avoided the blood and smell of the two dead bodies who had once been his parents. After only a short amount of time, he was discovered living there by a local, and the orphanage nearby was contacted to come and take him. Hd lived in the orphanage for quite some time,

The Eel

[x]

True eels (Anguilliformes) are an order of fish, which consists of 4 suborders, 19 families, 110 genera and 400 species. Most eels are predators.

The flat and transparent larva of the eel is called a leptocephalus. A young eel is called an elver.

Most eels prefer to dwell in shallow waters or hide at the bottom layer of the ocean, sometimes in holes. These holes are called Eel Pits. Only the Anguillidae family comes to fresh water to dwell there (not to breed). Some eels dwell in deep water (in case of family Synaphobranchidae, this comes to a depth of 4,000 m), or are active swimmers (the family Nemichthyidae - to the depth of 500 m).

Description
Eels lack pelvic fins and the associated skeletal structures. The pectoral fins (in those species that have them) are midlateral in position and lack the posttemporal bone, which connects the shoulder girdle to the skull. The caudal and a**l fins are long, usually connecting with the tail (caudal) fin. The caudal fin lacks rays or may be absent. The body is very elongated.

The number of rays of the gill webbing ranges from 6 to 51, though sometimes they are absent altogether. The scales are cycloid or absent.

Depending on their species, eels can reach from 10 cm to 3 m, and weigh up to 65 kg.

Other Information
In recent years, some cryptozoologists have theorised that the Loch Ness Monster might be a giant eel (as was the case in Steve Alten's novel The Loch, where the monster was a giant Sargasso Anguilla eel).

There is an urban legend that wallets made out of electric eels (which, despite their name, are not eels) will demagnetize your credit cards. This was proven to be untrue in an episode of the Mythbusters TV show. Actually, as pointed out in the Straight Dope, eel-skin wallets are made from hagfish which are unrelated to electric eels. Furthermore, it seems that magnetic clasps, not eel leather, are to blame for demagnetization.

Eel blood is toxic. The toxic protein it contains is destroyed by cooking. The toxin derived from eel blood serum was used by Charles Robert Richet in his Nobel winning research which discovered anaphylaxis (by injecting it into dogs and observing the effect).

On January 31, 1930, the Danish research ship; "The Dana", captured, (south of Africa's Cape of Good Hope), what they thought at the time was a six-feet long eel larva. This could have meant there were very long eels in the sea, since the typical eel larva is three inches long, while the adults can grow from about 4 feet to 16 feet long. In 1970, Dr. David G. Smith from the University of Miami, identified the larva found as that of the spiny eel, an eel-like fish whose larvae length is equal to its adult length, while the larvae length of the true eel is much shorter than its adult length.

This is Louis when Anne first met him. He was very shy, quiet and withdrawn from almost everyone he had met up until Anne. He opened up to her very quickly, and soon the two were fast friends. At this point, he hasn't met his Chimera, and has little to no idea of the learning path he will take through Faction S.

User Image
He is currently living with Anne, only visiting the Faction every now and then to go swimming in their specialized, dimly lit pool. He has met his Chimera only once, naming it Aolou and causing concern to Anne as she heard of the proposed length of the beast. It is still being grown in a lab at the Faction. He is uncertain, as of yet, which path he is going to take.

User Image
This is Louis at the moment. After finally being paired up with his Chimera, he seems to have become somewhat of a tough guy. Of course it's all an act, but in front of Aolou, Louis couldn't bare to look uncool.
