GANG! GRAB HARMANZ! HARM BANG BANG MANZ!

*clears throat*

What I meant was...

Urban Dead

Who here plays?

If you've never heard of Urban dead, it's "A free, low-tech Massively Multi-Player Web-Based Zombie Apocalypse."

Free meaning it will take you like, five seconds to sign up and start playing, and it won't cost you anything.

Low-tech means that basically... there aren't any graphics, besides the map. BUT don't let that scare you away. It's mostly text based, and it's a load of fun, so if you can READ, you should give it a try before brushing it off. I wish I had back when I first heard of it.

Massively Multi-player means we can all play it TOGETHER. WOO.

But by far, the best keyword in there is Zombie Apocalypse.

When you create a character, you get to choose from several character classes. Doctors, soldiers, scientists, cops, firemen, consumers, etc. OR you can embrace your inner zombie, and play as a corpse, who's only "job" is to eat humans.

As a human, you'll spend your time hunting for zombies to kill or revive in order to build up experience points to buy a wide range of versatile skills, and at the end of the day, trying to find a building that's been barricaded strong enough to resist the zombie hoard. Because the game doesn't end when you log off-- you can be attacked in your sleep. Adds an element of danger, and more importantly, strategy.

As a zombie, your life will be simpler: banging on barricades and eating "harmanz." The more harmanz you eat, the stronger you become, and the more strange, supernatural abilities you pick up.

You might choose to pick a side and fight for it, or embrace your dual nature and play both sides.

In any case, it's a great game, and requires little commitment-- the way it's set up, if you have one character, you can only play for about 15 minutes a day before running out of "action points" and seeking shelter.

So if you want a fun, casual gaming experience in which you can fight against the shambling dead, or unleash your inner zombie, this is it.

Okay, shameless plug OVER!

For those of you who already have accounts, let's share info.

I have three characters.

Rakos, my scientist. While alive, he wanders the run-down city of Malton, searching for zombies to revive and humans to heal. He's very combat weak, and if killed, he's a total pansy and just shuffles off to a revive point.

Timzor. He started out as my dedicated zombie, but the guy was a random revive magnet. So I've decided to embrace my dual nature and fight as human until killed, and zombie until revived, leveling up both sides equally. While alive, he can usually be seen tearing into a zombie with a fire axe. While dead, he looks for safehouses to break into so he can eat the sweet, chewy survivors inside.

Dr. Frank N. Stein. A doctor, master of bad puns, and stark raving mad. After the zombie outbreak, he lost it entirely, and convinced himself that the zombies were just very sick and injured humans. He now takes it upon himself to heal all zombies he comes across, and the humans they've been attacking--all the while admonishing them for fighting "in their condition."
He hasn't died yet! But when he does, he'll probably be dual nature like Timzor.

You were probably dropped into a zombie-infested suburb. XP

I don't have much of a problem with dying, as long as I stay in a relatively safe suburb and use my last 10 AP to find shelter.

BTW, what's silkroad?

Well, I made an account, but I don't really get what I'm supposed to do... I'm a NecroTech Lab Assistant. I wandered around till my AP ran out (found a strongly barricaded building with one AP left xd ) and found a spray can along the way. Hm... guess I'll have to try fighting a zombie or something next time. Unless I totally forget about it like what happened with AdventureQuest/DragonFable... Wow... I haven't played those for a long time.

Just started out today. I got two characters.
A private and a Corpse.

Private Specialplace is totally lame though... I keep missing, and I'm totally out of bullets now. And with my last AP... I didn't get into shelter. s**t, I'mma die.

Does the AP count ever go above 50?
