This is the thread for finding a student or students. If you are willing to teach Japanese, please post a bulletin here. You can put down as much or as little info as you want. I think a good start would be: 1. Your name 2. What level you feel comfortable teaching at (introductory, beginner, intermediate, advanced) 3. Your preferred means of communication (gaia messages/email/messenger of choice) 4. Maybe even the hours you are usually online (try to adjust them to Pacific Standard Time, just to make it easier) so you can get paired up with someone who will actually be online the same time as you. To read bulletins from potential students you can look here: Find a sensei (teacher) ATTENTION STUDENTS AND TEACHERS:There is now an IRC channel for you all to meet up, if you want to use it: irc://irc.sorcery.net/#japanese This is where you'll find the channel and be able to meet up for some live lessons or chat

I would apply if my computer could friggin' READ JAPANESE. If you type it into NJ Star, and copy paste, would students still be able to read it in Japanese?
Edited Reply (to not take up more space): It wouldn't hurt to try! 3nodding

こんにちは、 1. My name is Kaori, but I also go by Cyn. 2. I can teach any level, but I prefer those who have had some basic classes and have some knowledge of vocab. Also, I would prefer if they can already read all the kana and have japanese typing capabilities. 3. I use AIM alot, Gaia is fine, Email is fine. It would depend on the times available, the level of the student and what kind of lessons they would prefer. 4. I am mostly on 8pm(EST) and on unless meetings/studying/work gets in the way. I am also available on most Friday's during the day, but again, we can work things out smile
よろしくお願いします。

1. Shebechan de~su! blaugh
2. I think I'd only feel qualified to teach introductory or beginner levels.
3. Gaia messages or e-mail work for me. If you'd prefer to learn through e-mail then please ask me for my address through a private message. Thanks.
4. Pacific Standard time.... Is that the time zone that Gaia uses? Sorry, such a noob. xd
Extra Info...
Qualifications:
I had a Japanese tutor in first grade, most schools I've gone to have had mandatory Japanese classes, I've grown up in Japan, though I just got back from living in America for a while so I've forgotten some. Even though I grew up in Japan, my ability to write Japanese is not very developed since I havn't gone to a Japanese school, only pre-school. I'm much better at speaking Japanese than writing it. My vocabulary is limited and I havn't learned Japanese grammar, I just say what sounds right to me. I've been stuck on second grade kanji since I was in second grade, so don't expect to learn much kanji from me. (-_-")
My Japanese is very casual, since I learned it from my friends in the neighborhood, so if you were going to learn from me you'd be learning street Japanese. lol
WARNING: I have the tendency to suddenly get tired of things, so I might just disappear. Very sorry if that happens, but sometimes I get busy with real life, and other times I'm just bored. sweatdrop
よろしくおねがいします〜 3nodding

1. Stephanie 2. Feel comfortable teaching introductory and beginner level students 3. Gaia messages and MSN, no email pls 4. I'm usually online nights, but not every night. However, I check Gaia everday, so if you want to reach me, just leave me a message.
I don't really care if you don't know any Japanese, hiragana or anything like that. I will tutor you even if you are a complete beginner. Why you ask? Because teaching others things that I learned years ago forces me to review those things and I often relearn something I myself had forgotten.
NOTE: I get ALOT of random people MSNing me all the time (usually turkish people from language exchange websites) so if you just MSN me out of the blue, I will likely ignore you. Hell, I probably won't even accept you as a buddy in the first place. So if you want to contact me, PLEASE message me on Gaia FIRST.
My messenger is: zinker_girl43@hotmail.com

1. Syn or April. 2. Introductory or beginner. 3. Gaia messages. 4. My hours online vary a lot.
I might not have the internet soon, but I will take on a student for as long as I still have internet. It will probably be the first person who PMs me, and I am only taking one. Thanks.
[[I AM SORRY, I CANNOT TAKE ON ANY STUDENTS AT THIS TIME BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANY INTERNET ACCESS AT HOME.]]

1. Your name : Lain 2. What level you feel comfortable teaching at (introductory, beginner, intermediate, advanced) : All, though the upper levels will end up more with a conversational partner. As practice makes perfect. I can also teach Classical Japanese. But that will go out to a student that is already intermediate to advanced. smile 3. Your preferred means of communication (gaia messages/email/messenger of choice) Gaia messages are ok, but i prefer over a messenger. I use MSN and AIM. Send me a message if you want my screennames. 4. Maybe even the hours you are usually online (try to adjust them to Pacific Standard Time, just to make it easier) so you can get paired up with someone who will actually be online the same time as you. : I'm ususlly on at random times during the day. Sometimes in the morning as well. The only sure thing is that I am online from about 6-7ish pm until about 12-1ish am on MSN. I get on gaia periodically during the day to check my pm box as well.

1. My name is Jozef, I'm a first year university student.
2. I can teach only introductory level Japanese. Please do not ask me to teach you anything higher level. I can teach all the kana, basic grammar, basic vocab, expressions, some kanji, and some misc. stuff.
3. Please gaia message me first, and I will work out a means of communication based on your needs. I prefer MSN Messenger as IM, and gaia for slow communication.
4. 7:00am - 3:00pm weekdays, and 6:00am - 7:00pm weekends (including Fridays) All times are PST.
I am willing to accept 3 students, no more. Lessons will be student specific and flexible. Contact me by gaia PM if interested in introductory level lessons.

Hajimemashite.
For the sake of Japanese, call me Hamada.
I can teach introductory, beginner, and intermediate. I'm personally familiar with the kana syllabary and roughly a bit over 1500 kanji.
I'd prefer to begin lessons through gaia and progress through there. My general method of communication online is through Windows Live Messenger.
My schedule hasn't settled yet, but generally I'm available in the afternoon (4-7) EST.
