Solitude Aeturnus is an American doom metal band that was started in spring 1987 as Solitude, in Arlington, Texas. In 1990 they changed their name to Solitude Aeturnus due to legal problems with another band named Solitude. After two demos Kris Gabehardt found that he could not reconcile his personal belief with the heavy metal attitude anymore and quit. A replacement was found by Robert Lowe. My favourite band 3nodding .
Amazing epic doom metal with great riffs, interesting song structures and some of the best vocals I've ever heard.

Definitely one of my favorite bands. Into The Depths of Sorrow is my favorite album.

You really can't go wrong with Solitude Aeturnus. All of their albums are solid, heavy, and have that epic feel that they're known for. Through the Darkest Hour was my first, and Alone is probably my favorite. I have the first two, and while I'm still trying to really appreciate them, I feel that it'll be worth it once I finally do.

Alone is probably my favorite album by these guys. Really great vocal work from Robert.

I just came across these guys the other day from my last.fm recommendations. Pretty good stuff, the guitars are very nice although I find the lyrics a tad bit annoying...
