The only real difference is that male shirts don't have breasts... besides, editing is the same as regular drawing, really, when it comes to where shadows fall and such.

No you're not, don't say that! Just get some practice and you'll be fine. I should have said that it's like regular drawing only easier, because the proportions are all laid out for you already!

What helps is to look at real Gaian items and say to yourself, "Okay, how did the developers draw this one? What does it look like? Where do the lines and shadows go? Can I do something like that?" and keep referencing back. It's not as hard as you think it is.

And practice thinking like an edit is 3D, too. It takes a little bit of brain-retraining, but once you can imagine something like a pair of puffy pants as a 3D object, it's much easier to tell where the light would be shining on it.
