I <3 dialects XD Does anyone know any Kansai-ben? I'm moving to that area in a few months, and I feel a driving need to learn some.
(Actually, the one I really need to learn is Nagoya-ben, which is kansai-ben in intonation but tokyo-ben in accent, apparently, but I figure the odds of someone knowing any of that are slim xD)

The only kansai ben I know is what I picked up from anime XD
I know that 'da' is replaced by 'ya', 'nai' often becomes 'hen', as is 'wakarani' becomes 'wakarahen', and that 'baka' is replaced by 'aho', and 'dame' by 'akan'.
I too am really interested in picking up more kansai ben.

I have been told by reliable sources (i.e., three Japanese ladies in Suita, Osaka) that そやそや is the equivalent of そうだそうだ. The also said that Suita Osaka-ben is different from Umeda Osaka-ben (you can go between Suita and Umeda in like fifteen minutes by train.)

hey, I'm from Nagoya!
and Nagoya-ben and Kansai-ben are really different, so I recommend you don't think too hard about Kansai-ben
Also, In Nagoya people basically speak Hyojungo (regular Japanese).
