http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_MythosFriend take a read. The list is LONG! And who belongs in it is pretty arguable. I would say that Stephen King isn't a mythos writer so much as insipred BY the mythos. Hmm... i don't see Lin Carter on the list but I know he probably should be somewhere. *shrugs* Anyways, lots of people have "contributed" to the "mythos" durring Lovecraft's time and afterwards a good number have been insipred by it. Not just authors. There are countless bands wich take inspiration from the masters of horror. August Derleth really is responsable though for what we consider to be the "Cthulhu Mythos" he really expanded and defined what it was. Some might argue though that this was never what Lovecraft himself intended. If you read his works you'll see he is nevertoo specific about what this or that creature is or how it is or isn't conected to another creature. He left a lot up to your imagination and only used what he needed to to scare people. The whole "panthyon" thing really is an invention of August Derleth. But I for one am glad that he did what he did because he made it into something that games could be based off of. biggrin and that makes me very happy.

Stephen King wrote only one story that was labeld a Cthulhu Mytho.

Then... isn't Jerusalem's Lot the one with vampires? Or, something similar...
