History:
Ah the reason behind the madness. Now I'm sure you're expecting a sad tale of trainer and Pokemon. Loosing each other and causing this Pokemon to become bitter. You'd be right.
It was a few summers ago in the Kanto region...
Charcoal snorted down at his trainer from the sakura tree and sighed. His crimson eyes met two very excited violet ones. “Hey Charcoal! Are you ready to beat that gym leader yet?” He shook his head slightly and stretched back out along his branch. She had to be one of the only humans that let HIM decide when to battle.
The girl below him pouted, wanting to see a good fight. She gazed longingly into brook at her feet. “Hey Charcoal?”
The dragon sighed. Not this again. He gave a questioning growl and stared up at the shimmering stars.
“We're always going to be together, right?”
With a small, soft smile, the orange Pokemon swung his head to look at her. He couldn't 'say' anything but his look must have been enough to satisfy her. She turned her attention back to cooking dinner on the hotplate. He honestly didn't know why she was in such a hurry to win battles or why she constantly asked if they'd always be together. Oh well, it was just the oddity of humans.
---Five months later--
“Alright! Finish this up with FIRE BLAST!” The female trainer yelled enthusiastically, pumping her fist. “I want to see them flames melt boulders!” He smirked back at her and inhaled, flying downward toward the awaiting Blastoise. The dragon opened his jaws and charged his attack only to send the destructive blast a few seconds later. He remembered it so clearly....
“Way to go Chari--” And then she trailed off. At first he thought it was because the water Pokemon had managed to block his fatal blow with his type advantage but one look down assured him that the turtle had been called back. Charcoal didn't wait any longer, he sent himself forward with a powerful gust from his wings aiming for the platform his trainer had been giving him orders from.
Ba-bump
Something was wrong...
Ba-bump
Where was her voice?
Ba-bump
She'd seemed sick before the battle, why did he choose to fight today?
Ba-bump
Why hadn't he seen that she'd been getting sicker?
Ba-bump
He found himself suddenly loathing the steady rhythm of his wings; that for some unknown reason, struck him as a beating heart.. It seemed like hours before he finally reached the platform. He landed on the edge and found his trainer lying face down on the floor. He let out a cry of fear used his muzzle to roll her onto her back. She didn't open her eyes... She didn't sit up and smile saying 'Good job Charcoal!' and give him an unappreciated hug around the neck. She didn't do anything and never would again.
At first it was only silence. Everything passed by him in a blurr. The humans realization that something was wrong. The boy coming up and trying to uselessly wake her. The cold way he mentioned the words 'heart' and 'attack' to the other humans below. Didn't they care? Didn't they feel like part of them had been ripped apart and replaced with a void? He lowered his head, his tail dimming to nearly nothing before it flared up again. Why hadn't she told him?! He cried out once again in pain and rage.
He destroyed everything in wake. She was gone and he found that part of his small heart had gone with her. Tears of fire rained from the dragon's mouth as he incinerated the battlefield. Even the humans who tried to revive her suffered his wrath. Once he was out of fuel and had sank back into grief, he returned back to his trainer's prone body. With his shaking claws he reached down and plucked off the necklace that was wrapped around his pokeball and clipped it around his own neck. With one last emotional flame, he erased the woman that had loved him.
He was captured two days after his tirade and labeled as 'mad', he was sent to CRONUS to be either become 'docile' or to be exterminated.
